VIP Superyacht MOONLIGHT II - Executive Cruising
85 meters (280ft) superacht Moonlight II (ex ALYSIA) is one of the world's very largest and most impressive yachts. Motor yacht Moonlight II (ex ALYSIA) is able to accommodate up to 36 passengers with 34 crew and is the best yacht available when it comes to large VIP Company and corporate events.
She is built to SOLAS safety specifications; she has a steel hull and superstructure with aluminium deckhouses.
With a range of over 7,000 nautical miles, Moonlight II is capable of crossing the Atlantic, navigating the Panama Canal and reaching the west coast of the United States and Mexico. She currently cruises around the Western Mediterranean in locations such as France, Monaco, Sardinia and Italy during the summer and Asia and the Maldives during winter.
Superyacht Moonlight II had her naval architecture by Alpha Marine Ltd and her exterior and interior yacht design work was undertaken by Alpha Marine Ltd, Lally Poulias.

Motor Yacht MOONLIGHT II - MASTER SUITE
The 122 sqm (1,313 sq ft) Upper Deck master suite includes the owner's stateroom with superior California king-size bed, 180Ê panoramic windows with remote controlled curtain and access to a private deck. Facing the bed is a retractable 42 plasma television/DVD with Creston control console. The master bathroom is finished entirely in pure white Afion marble with a double Jacuzzi bath, two basins, two separate WCs and bidets, a separate shower and two walk-in closets. The suite also has a subsidiary twin stateroom 23 sq m (248 sq ft) with en-suite bathroom for children or personal staff and a fully equipped study.
Motor Yacht MOONLIGHT II - VIP STATEROOM
The 45 sq m (484 sq ft) VIP stateroom is on the Bridge Deck and includes a sitting room with a 42 plasma television and a large sofa that converts into a double bed. The superior king-size bed faces a flat screen plasma television. There is also a separate plasma television in the sitting room. The bathroom is finished in Michelangelo marble with a Jacuzzi bath, twin basins, large shower room and separate WC and bidet.
Motor Yacht MOONLIGHT II - GUEST STATEROOMS
Additionally there are 10 guest staterooms on the Main Deck, 6 x 34 sqm (366 sq ft) doubles and 4 x 29 sq m (312 sq ft) twins and 4 on the Upper Deck, 2 x 27sq m (291sq ft) doubles and 2 x 29 sqm (312 sq ft) twins. There is one special needs twin stateroom 18 sq m (194 sq ft) on the Bridge Deck with 90cm doors and a fully equipped en-suite shower room. Each guest stateroom is a mini suite with super king-size bed (or large singles), tilting flat screen LCD linked to satellite TV, DVD, CD and radio, writing desk with direct dial telephone links and internet/email connection. All staterooms have hand made carpets, silk curtains, a sofa, walk in closets and large bathroom with bath, shower and separate WC, bidet and twin basins. Bathrooms are finished in large pieces of Michelangelo marble with each basin made out of a single slab. All staterooms have sophisticated lighting systems with individual controls in both bedroom and bathroom. The 5 menu system allows different levels and locations from full to nightime lighting. Additionally the door between the bed and bathroom is illuminated by a fibre optic light that moves through different light spectrums.
Motor Yacht MOONLIGHT II - ADDITIONAL GUEST AREA INFORMATION
There is a specially-built crøche with climbing frame, slide, games and toys. The megayacht has pantries at all levels as well as a service lift for the crew, connecting 5 decks. A separate guest lift for 6 guests runs from the Lower Deck up to the Sun Deck. The main staircase connects the Lower Deck up to the Bridge Deck. Each landing is furnished with 4 x 1.3 metre symmetrical slabs of blue Makauba Brazilian marble. Indoors or outside, all 36 guests can be seated for dinner at one time.
Motor Yacht MOONLIGHT II - BUSINESS FACILITIES
The business centre is located on the Bridge Deck with an internal LAN for connecting computers and peripheral devices. The digital PBX telephone system is equipped with the latest ISDN software, 80 lines including five satellite connections linked via an Inmarsat Ship to Earth station.

Domenica 28 luglio il suggestivo défilé in piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, nella cittadina barese che ha recentemente conferito la cittadinanza onoraria all’attore italo-americano John Turturro. Ha egregiamente presentato la serata, a ridosso della suggestiva Fontana dei Tritoni, l’ex modello e ora apprezzatissimo conduttore Rai de “La vita in diretta” Beppe Convertini. Nel primo evento moda, una piazza gremita ha applaudito incessantemente prima le voci strepitose dei Divini, tribute band de Il Volo, poi l’eleganza di Giulio Lovero Miss and Lady Atelier e Roberta Molinini, la top che ha sfilato in esclusiva per lui. Poi in passerella la donna chic e un po’ garçonne di Twice di Lisa Paparella, la raffinata sposa dello storico atelier pugliese di Cosimo Lieggi, la sartorialità pregiata e ricercata degli abiti di Maria Pia Eramo, la silhouette ispirata agli anni ’30 della stilista londinese Clover Peake, l’arte pittorica ancestrale Art Couture di Anna Morra che, in collaborazione con la stilista Maria Pia Eramo, ha dato vita ad una capsule di operabiti coreografata dalla modella-ballerina Monica Caldarola.
Lunedì 29 luglio, il gran finale è stato condotto dalla nota giornalista di Telenorba Daniela Mazzacane. Nella magica location di Cala Porto, incastonata in uno dei centri storici più belli d’Italia tanto da divenire copertina di Lonely Planet, la voce del soprano Natalizia Carone ha emozionato e deliziato la grande platea offrendo un tributo a Ennio Morricone coreografato dall’Accademia Coreutica.

Previsto anche il momento dell’hair show coordinato da Gioele de Liso de “Il Giornale del Parrucchiere”, con tecnici provenienti da tutta Italia che hanno partecipato ad un contest. Per il make-up hanno vinto Francesca Pellerano, Giuliana Di Bello ed Elisabetta Tansella, ma apprezzatissimo è stato anche il trucco di Chiara Sterlacci, Valentina Buonsante e Anna Di Renzo.
Per l’hair style, per il quale è stato ospite d’onore Francesco Musella, hanno trionfato Antonella Calcagno e Cristina Vozza, ma hanno potuto mostrare i loro lavori sulla pedana anche Matteo Difrancesco, Lena Petrucelli, Mariella Galati.
Il prestigioso premio al personaggio TOP dell’anno è stato assegnato al make-up artist delle dive Pablo; tra i migliori truccatori in campo internazionale, è stato il braccio destro del maestro Gil Cagnè già dal 1996, ricevendo da lui tutta la passione e l’arte del make-up, ereditando la sua filosofia. Presente in trasmissioni televisive nazionali come “Non Solo Moda”, “Uno Mattina”, “TG2 Costume e Società”, “Buongiorno Benessere”, Pablo è pluripremiato per il suo talento e impegno a favore delle donne colpite da tumore o vittime di violenza.
Una giuria altamente qualificata, presieduta da Pablo Gil Cagnè, ha premiato Maila Bafaro con il titolo di “TOP Fashion Model 2019”, simbolicamente consegnato dal Vicepresidente del consiglio comunale Pietro Sifo; Sarah Ibiguzbe è “TOP Fashion Model Eleganza” premiata da Mario Epifania, responsabile nazionale Golden Curl; a pari merito, Federica Lala e Ludovica Vadacca sono state nominate “TOP Fashion Model Bellezza” e sono state premiate dal Comandante dell’Ufficio Locale Marittimo Rosario Paesano.
Le vincitrici parteciperanno alla crociera della moda TOP Fashion Cruise, il format moda in navigazione ideato da Carmen Martorana. Ad Ennisa Shkembi il titolo de Il Giornale del Parrucchiere.

Superyacht 11.11 is the Video # 2 of our series: THE GREATEST YACHTS FOR CHARTER IN THE WORLD. It includes the best, most elegant, most luxurious and unique yachts for charter in the whole world in other words, the greatest luxury yachts ever for charter.
The esteemed Italian boat builder Benetti launched one of the most exciting new builds onto the market when 11.11 entered the water in 2015. Almost immediately she was recognised as one of the greats and was awarded a 2016 World Superyacht Award in the category Displacement Motor Yachts 500GT TO 1,299GT.
The 63m (206.7ft) 11.11 owns head turning looks with her unique axe bow, a feature that is also pleasing to the world cruiser with its enhanced fuel efficiency. Her sleek, but masculine lines cut through water effortlessly and by nightfall, 46 lights placed below the water line beautifully illuminate her while at anchor. Her stunning aesthetics follow through into her chic interior, crafted by the owner's personal design team. Drawing inspiration from the 1920s and 30s art deco period, the designer carefully realised the brief utilising cool beiges, dark browns, whites and creams accented with touchable fabrics and hand crafted one-of-a-kind pieces throughout.
She offers accommodation for 12 guests over six well-appointed cabins, including a master and VIP suite. The VIP sits on the full-beam main deck whereas the master, which comes complete with its own private deck, plunge pool and sunbathing area, is positioned on the upper deck. The guest cabins, found on the lower deck are spacious, light and airy. The neutral colour palette found throughout the yacht has been adhered to with an added accent of midnight blue.
Communal areas are indulgent and offer anything from a large pool and bathing area to a spa complete with treatment room and steam room. The sky lounge, saloon and deck spaces offer ideal spots to relax, dine and socialise or simply admire the owner's taste in art. Original pieces from art-world greats feature throughout including a bespoke Tracy Emin piece entitled Move me.

Words at War: Assignment USA / The Weeping Wood / Science at War
The Detroit Race Riot broke out in Detroit, Michigan in June 20, 1943, and lasted for three days before Federal troops restored order. The rioting between blacks and whites began on Belle Isle on June 20, 1943 and continued until the 22nd of June, killing 34, wounding 433, and destroying property valued at $2 million.
In the summer of 1943, in the midst of World War II, tensions between blacks and whites in Detroit were escalating. Detroit's population had grown by 350,000 people since the war began. The booming defense industries brought in large numbers of people with high wages and very little available housing. 50,000 blacks had recently arrived along with 300,000 whites, mostly from rural Appalachia and Southern States.[2]
Recruiters convinced blacks as well as whites in the South to come up North by promising them higher wages in the new war factories. Believing that they had found a promised land, blacks began to move up North in larger numbers. However, upon arriving in Detroit, blacks found that the northern bigotry was just as bad as that they left behind in the deep South. They were excluded from all public housing except Brewster Housing Projects, forced to live in homes without indoor plumbing, and paid rents two to three times higher than families in white districts. They also faced discrimination from the public and unfair treatment by the Detroit Police Department.[3] In addition, Southern whites brought their traditional bigotry with them as both races head up North, adding serious racial tensions to the area. Job-seekers arrived in such large numbers in Detroit that it was impossible to house them all.
Before the attack on Pearl Harbor, the U.S. government was concerned about providing housing for the workers who were beginning to pour into the area. On June 4, 1941, the Detroit Housing Commission approved two sites for defense housing projects--one for whites, one for blacks. The site originally selected by the commission for black workers was in a predominantly black area, but the U.S. government chose a site at Nevada and Fenelon streets, an all-white neighborhood.
To complete this, a project named Sojourner Truth was launched in the memory of a black Civil War woman and poet. Despite this, the white neighborhoods opposed having blacks moving next to their homes, meaning no tenants were to be built. On January, 20, 1942, Washington DC informed the Housing Commission that the Sojourner Truth project would be for whites and another would be selected for blacks. But when a suitable site for blacks could not be found, Washington housing authorities agreed to allow blacks into the finished homes. This was set on February 28, 1942.[4] In February 27, 1942, 120 whites went on protest vowing they would keep any black homeowners out of their sight in response to the project. By the end of the day, it had grown to more than 1,200, most of them were armed. Things went so badly that two blacks in a car attempted to run over the protesters picket line which led to a clash between white and black groups. Despite the mounting opposition from whites, black families moved into the project at the end of April. To prevent a riot, Detroit Mayor Edward Jeffries ordered the Detroit Police Department and state troops to keep the peace during that move. Over 1,100 city and state police officers and 1,600 Michigan National Guard troops were mobilized and sent to the area around Nevada and Fenelon street to guard six African-American families who moved into the Sojourner Truth Homes. Thanks to the presence of the guard, there were no further racial problems for the blacks who moved into this federal housing project. Eventually, 168 black families moved into these homes.[5] Despite no casualties in the project, the fear was about to explode a year later.[6]
In early June 1943, three weeks before the riot, Packard Motor Car Company promoted three blacks to work next to whites in the assembly lines. This promotion caused 25,000 whites to walk off the job, effectively slowing down the critical war production. It was clear that whites didn't mind that blacks worked in the same plant but refused to work side-by-side with them. During the protest, a voice with a Southern accent shouted in the loudspeaker, I'd rather see Hitler and Hirohito win than work next to a nigger.

Emile Francisco de Antonio (May 14, 1919 -- December 16, 1989) was an American director and producer of documentary films, usually detailing political or social events circa 1960s--1980s. About his films:
He has been referred to by scholars and critics alike, and arguably remains, ...the most important political filmmaker in the United States during the Cold War.
de Antonio was born in 1919 in in the coal-mining town of Scranton, Pennsylvania. His father, Emilio de Antonio, an Italian immigrant, fostered the lifelong interests of Antonio by passing on his own love for philosophy, classical literature, history and the arts. Although his intelligence allowed him the privilege of attended Harvard University alongside future-president John F. Kennedy, he was also familiar with the working class experience, making his living at various points in his life as a peddler, a book editor, and the captain of a river barge (among other duties).
After serving in the military during World War II as a bomber pilot, de Antonio returned to the United States where he frequented the art crowd, often associating with such Pop artists as Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, and Andy Warhol, in whose film Drink de Antonio appears. Warhol was famously quoted praising de Antonio with the words, Everything I learned about painting, I learned from De.
The book Necessary Illusions (1989) by Noam Chomsky and the documentary Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media (1992) by Mark Achbar and Peter Wintonick are dedicated to Emile de Antonio.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Jr. (August 17, 1914 -- August 17, 1988) was an American politician. He was the fifth child of U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Sr. and his wife Eleanor.
He was a Naval officer in World War II and was decorated for bravery in the battle of Casablanca.
He graduated from Groton School in 1933, Harvard University in 1937, and from the University of Virginia School of Law in June 1940. During his graduation, his father, Franklin D. Roosevelt gave what is known as the Stab in the Back Speech, criticizing Italy's entry into the war.
Roosevelt Jr. served as a member of the United States Congress, representing the 20th District of New York from 1949 to 1955. In 1949, he won a special election running as a candidate of the Liberal Party of New York and later ran on the Democratic ticket as well.
He sought the Democratic nomination for Governor in 1954, but, after persuasion by powerful Tammany Hall boss Carmine DeSapio, abandoned his bid for Governor was nominated by the Democratic State Convention to run for New York State Attorney General. Roosevelt was defeated in the general election by Republican Jacob K. Javits, although all other Democratic nominees were elected. Following his loss, Eleanor Roosevelt began building a campaign against the Tammany Hall leader that eventually forced DeSapio to step down from power in 1961.
He campaigned for John F. Kennedy in the 1960 West Virginia primary, falsely accusing Kennedy's opponent, Hubert Humphrey of having dodged the draft in World War II. Kennedy later named him Under-Secretary of Commerce and chairman of the President's Appalachian Regional Commission. This post (Under-Secretary of Commerce) was given to him when Defense Secretary Robert McNamara shot down the proposal of his appointment as Secretary of Navy.
He ran for Governor of New York on the Liberal Party ticket in 1966, but was defeated by the incumbent Republican Nelson A. Rockefeller.
He served as chairman of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission from May 26, 1965 to May 11, 1966.
He was senior partner in the New York law firm of Roosevelt and Freiden before and after his service in the Congress.
He also ran a small cattle farm and imported Fiat automobiles. (He was a personal friend of Fiat chairman Gianni Agnelli).
