USA Road Trip: Redwood National Park and Avenue of the giants
Welcome to our first glimpses of California. We had an amazing day exploring the silent giants in the Redwood National Park and the Avenue of the Giants. There is no understatement to the word 'giant'. Watching back the video and looking at the photos I still cant believe just how tall they really were. This was a highlight of our trip and just an incredibly peaceful and wonderful place. Stay tuned for more to come. Thanks everyone for your support.

California Redwoods - Chandelier Tree - Avenue of the Giants - US 101 - West Coast Road Trip 2018
3:14 Chandelier Tree Entrance- is a 276-foot (84 m) tall coast redwood tree in Leggett, California with a 6-foot (1.8 m) wide by 6-foot-9-inch (2.06 m) high hole cut through its base to allow a car to drive through. Its base measures 16 ft (4.9 m) diameter at breast height (chest-high). The sign claims 315 ft. high and 21 ft. wide, but a Certified Arborist experienced with tallest redwoods, using a laser rangefinder, measured the tree as 276 ft. high and 16 ft. diameter. The name Chandelier Tree comes from its unique limbs that resemble a chandelier. The limbs, which measure from 4 to 7 ft (1.2 to 2.1 m) in diameter, begin 100 ft (30 m) above the ground. The tree is believed to have been carved in the early 1930s by Charlie Underwood.

Avenue of the Giants California + Glass Beach Fort Bragg (Van Vlog)
We continue our Pacific Coast Highway road trip up to Seattle in the van. On Day 2 we stop off at the famous Glass Beach in Fort Bragg to see if we can find some treasures. From first look there doesn't appear to be much, but just wait to see what we find!
After Fort Bragg we find an unexpected beauty at Hardy Rock and check out the sights of the California coast with the drone!
Finally we finish the evening off with a drive through the magical Avenue of the Giants, a special area of redwood trees that encapsulate the road and leave you feeling like a very small piece of this gigantic earth!

Avenue of the Giants
The Avenue of the Giants is a scenic highway in Northern California, U.S.A., running through Humboldt Redwoods State Park. It is an old alignment of U.S. Route 101, and continues to be maintained by the state as State Route 254. The highway is notable for the Coast Redwoods that overshadow the road and surround the area. It is from these towering trees that the Avenue of the Giants takes its name. The road winds alongside the scenic Eel River, and connects several small towns such as Phillipsville, Miranda, Myers Flat, Burlington, Weott, Englewood, Redcrest and Pepperwood. The two-lane road has a number of parking areas, picnic sites, and attractions for visitors. The nearby river provides many excellent swimming locations, such as those at the Rockefeller Forest redwood grove.
Being situated just off a major highway, and having attained some degree of international fame, the Avenue has many attractions for visitors, both natural and human-made.
