Ilboru Safari Lodge - Experience Review, Massage with Endaeli
Tanganyika (1961)
M/S of a cruise liner coming towards a harbour. Various shots of yachts sailing on the water of the harbour of Dar-es-Salaam at Tanzania (or Tanganyika) in Africa; men in shorts and girls in bikinis are seen on one of the yachts.
M/S on the wharf showing porters carrying sacks and boxes. Various shots in the marketplace showing stalls of fruit, and a man cutting tobacco into little parcels. C/U of a pile of mangoes (?). M/Ss of a sisal plantation; hundreds of spiky-leaved plants beside the sea. A man is seen cutting the leaves off a plant; women arrange sisal fibres over hundreds of lines in a field. M/S and C/Us of two Masai warriors in traditional costume; beaded necklaces and earrings.
L/S of a small plane (East African Airways) landing on a red earthy runway in the highlands. Nice M/S of several western tourists coming out of the plane. They climb in the back of a Land Rover with open sides, and are driven to a national park or game reserve. In a lake there we see some hippos bathing in the water (only eyes and ears seen!) while the tourists take photos and film with cine cameras. Another Land Rover is seen driving over a plain; tourists look through the open top to see a lion standing over it's kill (L/S). M/Ss of a lioness; a hyena.
M/S of the clock tower at Arusha; commentator says the tower is precisely halfway between Cairo and the Cape of Good Hope. Other buildings in the town look quite modern. M/Ss of the market place; Africans carrying baskets on their heads; people examining fabrics; traders sitting on the ground with mats displaying their produce before them.
M/S of a swimming pool (probably on the slopes of Mount Meru) as a girl dives in; some middle-aged westerners sit at a table with a beer and watch. M/S of a young couple in dressing gowns eating breakfast on their hotel balcony; the man looks through binoculars at the view; L/S of the countryside on the lower slopes of the mountains; lots of trees, then thinning out towards the coast (I think - it's a bit misty).
M/Ss of a group of tourists setting out on a walk in shorts and walking boots; they walk past some exotic blossoms on a tree and off over a plain; some carry backpacks. M/S of two men stopping to take in the view; they look rather 'Englishman abroad' in their pullovers and woolly hats; one wears a cravat. L/S of Mount Kilimanjaro rising majestically into the clouds. Various shots of the snow covered mountains from the air, including brief M/S from behind the driver of our plane. Amazing shot of Kilimajaro's ice-crater in the sunshine.
Cuts exist - see separate record.

Elephant Sanctuary Kwale Kenya - Vacation Home Pumzika-tu
pumzikatu.com
This house sits on Shimba Hills ridge above an elephant sanctuary and with views as far as the eye can see. You may awaken in the clouds and then as it burns off see the starlings and hundreds of other birds show off, or chase the monkeys from the little swimming pool and don't get anything done as you keep looking for elephants and following the herd as it moves around in the trees below. A micro climate makes it very pleasant and soporific and peaceful. However in half an hour you can be in the heat of the beach, Diani Beach. And then you can return to the tranquility of Pumzika-tu. There you have comfortable rooms, three with king size beds and one with a queen size double bed and with three bathrooms (a king and queen share a bathroom and great for a family). Abed, manager/cook and two watchmen/gardeners/helpers take care of you and are very experienced. You use safari com dongles or smart phone hotspots for the Internet, and a large generator for electricity. There is a lovely bar and a super bar-b-q.
Kwale is a small town with a local market and very colourful one on Wednesdays, but Ukunda and Diani Beach have modern supermarkets, banks and ATMs, clothes and souvenir shops. Two airlines fly from Nairobi to Diani Beach in just over an hour and the cook will meet you and take you to the supermarket to stock up and then up to the house (via Forty Thieves if you fancy a beer and a swim on the way.
Just south of Mombasa cooling off in the sea and protected by the reef. You can chill out in beach bars and restaurants, swimming, take dhow trips, kite surfing and go deep sea fishing or just walking or taking a camel ride along the beach. There a small but delightful game park 10 minutes from the house where you can see giraffe, wart hogs, buffaloes, elephants, monkeys, dung Beatles and other wild animals including the rare and beautiful sable antelopes with their black coats and long circular horns. There are many, about 600, elephants who enjoy a corridor into the elephant sanctuary at Mwaluganje Forest and it is these that regularly visit beneath Pumzika-tu. A visit to the park can be followed by a restaurant meal where fish eagles can be seen to fish and monkeys and bush-babies abound.
Zanzibar Island - Safari Blue Experience.
Just did a Blue Safari with Safari Blue Zanzibar On June 24th Sunday, on a cool weather.
I enjoyed a ride from a supply truck since I had no transport to get to Fumba Village. I was picked by Capt. Khamis, a very friendly “Babu” whom started this company with Eleanor 22 years ago and they have been working together for the past 30 years. He has full knowledge of the Island, we chatted few things on the way.
Later at Fumba, we were joined by 30+ guests and we were divided into three Mahogany made vessels; Suninga, Lydia and I was inside Kikale. Inside my vessel there 6 crew men including two super experienced divers and swimmer. One is nicknamed “The Whale” the other was Mr. Bakari aka Capt. Nyerere and he was my instructor.
Later whole snorkeling, Mr. Bakari couldn’t keep shy and silent of all good things that Eleanor does such as helping children around Fumba Village pay for Tuition Fees, Affordable Loans to the Crew and more and vacation trip they do every year together.
This experience was so great, too bad I don’t know much of the fish but I saw bunch of them, army grey long fishes, small gold, medium stripped golden yellow, black blue and other. I can mention them by colors. This was around Kwale Island.
At mid day we hangout at Funguni Sandbank. And we drove around to mangrove natural swimming pool. Later a lunch stop at the main Kwale Island beach. We had sea foods with Lobster and many other fishes. Well all Chickens, Beer, Soda, Water, and more. The tropical fruits were served. Don’t forget coconut milk while on board vessel and groundnuts.
At dawn we sailed by wind, on our way back to Fumba we saw Dolphins though they were shy and ran away several times.
I would recommend everyone to try Blue Safari while in Zanzibar and in special way with Safari Blue Zanzibar, the only company with a color full lunch tent.
Thanks For The Experience.

Original Maasai Lodge Tanzania - Africa Amini Life
** Original Maasai Lodge Tanzania - Africa Amini Life **
According to local people, the lodge was built on land that was considered uninhabitable. But the country changed when the lodge took its place there. The space, which is filled with life and emotions, radiates a strong energy today.
There are 14 earth houses to choose from, which stand in different places in a replicated Maasai village. Each bungalow is powered by solar energy and offers European standard, a toilet and shower with hot water. Every day you can experience the sunrise behind Kilimanjaro on the terrace, in the midst of the African nature. International and traditional Swahili dishes are refined with home-grown herbs and served in the restaurant. Free activities such as spear throwing, dances, nature walks or campfire conversations allow you to interact with the Maasai. To relax, there is a rest area, a massage room as well as a pool and sauna. To enjoy Tanzania up close in the midst of the Maasai, and the endless expanse of the African steppe all around offer a unique experience.
