I've done a lot of awesome things while drinking beer...but this might be the best one ever. BATL, here in Toronto Canada is the home of axe throwing for league play and also for private parties. Me and my hometown boyz have made this a semi-annual ritual. No more just meeting at the pub... Oh we're still gonna drink some beers, but what better than wielding a few axes and a little friendly competition to keep things lively. There's nothing like walking into that warehouse and hearing the clinking of steel, the smell of sawdust as axes pound targets and that....wait..what is that...I think I smell beers. Yeah, I smell beers!
BATL (Backyard Axe Throwing League) started in 2007 as a...yeah, backyard event, but has grown substantially to having 4 locations; East Toronto, West Toronto, Pickering and North York. More than 100K people have crossed the axe wielding threshold and to me, it's no surprise.. I mean, how is this even legal? I'm not asking and I'm sure has hell grateful for however these genius's are making this go. With plans to open a new location in Kitchener, Waterloo in the Spring and many other plans in the works, this badass of a good time is invading the province and I'm damn happy about it!!

Disadvantages:
You start having visions of the villiers location and start piling mountains of axes on top of one another in hopes of being abducted by the BATL mothership and....uhhh...(Close Encounters of the Third Kind...anyone? anyone?)

Axe throwing is now popular Metro Vancouver pastime
Indoor axe throwing is now a thing in the Lower Mainland. Bad Axe Throwing is opening its ninth facility on June 18 in Surrey. The company operates at locations across Canada and offers a chance to learn axe throwing and compete in a safe and supportive environment.
