Free Beach Camping in Baja Mexico (near San Jose Del Cabo)
Beaches are public in Mexico, free camping abounds down the Baja Peninsula. As far as I can tell (and after consulting with many campers) there don't seem to be any time limits. In this video you'll see some RV/class C campers in the distance...they have been coming to The East Cape for more than 12+ years and have never had an issue with getting harrassed, charged or been told they are 'over the time limit'. YES there are still places, in North America, which are beautiful, easy to get to and FREE!. This is Playa de Nueve Palmas (9 Palms beach) great surfing/swimming spot. Beware the sea urchin (if you step on them, you'll get their spines in your feet, no fun). Wear beach shoes in the water, walking on the shore can be done in bare feet if you keep your eyes out (had to take the man to an urgent care to get some of the spines removed that I couldn't dig out myself)
Many many camping sites along the East Cape, don't feel limited to this area alone. Latitude: 23.166214Longitude: -109.48684.
Road is paved out of San Jose Del Cabo but then turns to dust/dirt/sand. Experienced drivers can bring in a trailer/RV. I recommend an all wheel or 4 wheel for most travelers, esp if you want to drive off the road toward a beach, the sand gets thick quickly. To see road quality see my other video:
No cell service here, no bathrooms, no drinkable water, no food vendors (there is a small store a mile or so away). San Jose Del Cabo is less than 20 miles south. Keep in mind you'll want to bring in all your food/water and pack out your trash/waste.
I drive to Mexico for a few months each year. I live near the Washington/Oregon border and cross into Mexico via San Diego/Tijuana. We reach Cabo on the 5th day of driving (8-10 hr days), 2,100 miles (3380 KM).

In this episode, we leave Vagabundos Del Mar RV Park in Cabo San Lucas, Baja MX and start our trek north.
We make our first stop in the coastal community of El Pescadero and do some exploring.
We drop into Cerritos to see if there are any boondocking opportunities, but decided we'll just spend a couple of nights at a small campground in El Pescadero called Baja Serena.
The next day we take Lorena's recyclables into Todo Santos, then take a look at an area near the beach, we hadn't seen in our past few visits.
On our way back to El Pescadero, we make a quick stop at a secluded beach called Playa Las Palmas and Pedrito Beach.
We finish our day relaxing with a drink at the Sugar Shack, a local dive bar in El Pescadero.
It was a fun couple of days checking out somethings we hadn't seen yet! We hope you enjoy following along....Safe travels...Paul & Lorena

Is Cabo a safe place to travel to in 2019?
Safety in Cabo
By Nick Fong
Broker of Los Cabos Agent
One of the most frequent questions from our clients when they fall in love with the beauty of Los Cabos and decide to buy a house, an apartment or a lot to build the home of their dreams, is how safe this area of Mexico is? We already talk about it in this video
What has happened since then?
Last year a controversial report was issued by the Citizen Council for Public Safety and Criminal Justice A.C, which pointed to La Paz and Los Cabos among the 50 most violent cities in the world. A few days ago, the report that corresponds to 2018 was released: both left the list.
Now, 2019, according to the Department of State of the United States, Mexico is at level 2 alert to travelers.
To understand what this means: the Department of State has four Travel Advisory Levels:
1.- Exercise normal precautions
2.- Exercise increased caution
3.- Reconsider travel
4.- Do not travel.
For Mexico, in general, the warning is Exercise increased caution due to crime, but we would have to add that other countries in the second level of alert are Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Netherlands, Serbia, Spain, United Kingdom, Belize, and Brazil, among many others.
As for Baja California Sur, the state is also at level two, and the recommendations are:
• Use toll roads when possible and avoid driving alone or at night. In many states, police presence and emergency services are extremely limited outside of the capital or major cities.
• Exercise increased caution when visiting local bars, nightclubs, and casinos.
• Do not display signs of wealth, such as wearing expensive watches or jewelry.
• Be extra vigilant when visiting banks or ATMs.
• Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP)( to receive Alerts and make it easier to locate you in an emergency.
• Follow the Department of State on Facebook and Twitter.
• Review the Crime and Safety Reports in Mexico here
• U.S. citizens who travel abroad should always have a contingency plan for emergency situations. Review the Traveler’s Checklist here

Arriving Cabo San Lucas Mexico
Baja Motorcycle Trip 2019 - Episode 4: Mulege to La Paz
Arriving in Mulege, a bit exhausted from their recent off road track, Lauren and Paul decided to take it easy the next day and hang out on a small private beach. The drive along Bahia Concepcion to the beach was beautiful, with the brilliantly blue Sea of Cortez contrasted by the desert mountains. After leaving their beach side campsite, they headed inland on their KLRs for some waterfalls and old missions.
The waterfall was better than expected, so they spent the day swimming, reading, and relaxing on the shore. The following morning they set off on dirt roads towards La Mision San Javier, the most intact and unaltered mission in Baja. From the mission they had a quick pit stop in Loreto, for some delicious fish tacos, before going to Agua Verde.
Agua Verde was recommended by several people and well worth the trip. The good dirt road leading into Agua Verde goes by some hot springs, so of course they had to check them out. Once in Agua Verde, they encountered a perfect campsite with a friendly community of fellow overlanders. They enjoyed the location so much that they ended up spending four nights camped while they fished, swam, hiked, and explored during the day.
Finally they decided the motorcycle adventure had to continue. So, they packed up camp and headed for Ciudad Insurgentes and Ciudad Constitucion to refuel, stock up, and have some lunch. After eating, they made a long push for San Evaristo. The terrain was a little monotonous at first, but the closer they got to the coast the more mountainous and varied the roads became. Racing against dark, they camped beside a palapa overlooking the sea.
The next day they made the final decent and visited San Evaristo before continuing ten miles south to a more wind protected bay. With no one else around, they walked the beach and enjoyed the beauty. The following day they rode south towards La Paz passing thorough colorful canyons, sandy roads along the coast, and finally pavement into La Paz.
Stay tuned for the next chapter in their Baja KLR Motorcycle Adventure.

Todos Santos, Los Cabos, Mexico | WestJet Vacations
A visit to Todos Santos is just the thing to give your Cabo vacation a little classic rock twist. A Todos Santos day trip is one of many great things to do in Los Cabos, with many local charms – including their very own Hotel California.
A short drive from Cabo San Lucas, Todos Santos makes a sweet little excursion. Just as there’s plenty of room at the Hotel California, there’s plenty to do in Todos Santos. (Yes, we went there.) Pick a local restaurant and enjoy the catch of the day; we chose Iker’s Colibris Café, where we learned how to prepare and cook a Mexican lunch that was nutritious and delicious. (Of course, we started with margaritas – here’s to vacations!) The guacamole and sea bass prepared with habanero peppers definitely put the “mmm” in Mexico. Next up for us was the Hotel California, an absolutely divine combination of traditional décor and warm hospitality. They were gracious enough to make like it was the first time they’d heard our Hotel California references.
