Museum Geologi didirikan pada tanggal 16 Mei 1928. Museum ini telah direnovasi dengan dana bantuan dari JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency). Setelah mengalami renovasi, Museum Geologi dibuka kembali dan diresmikan oleh Wakil Presiden RI, Megawati Soekarnoputri pada tanggal 23 Agustus 2000.
Sebagai salah satu monumen bersejarah, museum berada di bawah perlindungan pemerintah dan merupakan peninggalan nasional. Dalam Museum ini, tersimpan dan dikelola materi-materi geologi yang berlimpah, seperti fosil, batuan, mineral. Kesemuanya itu dikumpulkan selama kerja lapangan di Indonesia sejak 1850.

If you want to going to Bandung don't miss to listing this place and got the feel that you'll never get in another place... From Jakarta it's about 4 to 5 hours depend on traffic situation. In this area, separately about 3 - 5 km, there is 7 object, Ciwidey Tea Plantation, Patengan Lakes, White Sulfurous Crater, Ranca Upas Camping Ground, Patuha Hot Water Spring, Gunung Patuha Natural Tourism Park (include Gunung Patuha Sanctuary) and Strawberry Mini Park which is planted by the local people, very cheap. If you want to spend your time, near the object you can rent a house that rented by local people called homestay. And also if you need an information about the object, the forest ranger ready to explain. So, two tumbs up for this place and only two words... wonderful and awesome! Have a nice trip!

Disini kita bisa lihat berbagai fosil manusia purba, jenis-jenis batuan yang sangat indah, fosil binatang purba dan yang paling menarik di museum geologi ini ada fosil dinosaurus tyrannosaurus rex Osborn yang besar banget..
Lokasinya dekat banget dengan gedung sate. Cocok untuk wisata bersama semua anggota keluarga, selain tiket masuknya murah kita juga bisa belajar mengenal sejarah purbakala..

City In Motion : Bandung (Jalan Merdeka) Indonesia
Here I share my point of view in Jalan Merdeka, Bandung while I visited the city the other day. You can find one of the popular mall in Bandung : Bandung Indah Plaza here. In between Jalan Merdeka and Jalan Aceh, there is a Bandung Historical Park where you can read some of biography of important person related to Bandung until now. It is a really great place to relax that you can bring your toddlers or children to play in the shallow pool. YES! It has a small swimming pool in the park as you might notice in the first seconds in my video. Anyhow, more video about Bandung and the other city will be uploaded soon.
The musics are from Chuki Beats and Frank Sinatra's song performed by street musician I found above the Merdeka Bridge

City In Motion : Bandung (Teras Cikapundung & Bandung City Hall) Indonesia
My next stop in Bandung are Teras Cikapundung and Bandung City Hall.
This is one of the latest park opened by the Mayor. Man, Bandung city mayor sure likes to build parks. No entrance fee, good for taking picture and hangout especially if you are somebody who loves river. Here you can perform, play rafting, fishing, feed the fish, recreation, and more because it has mini boat, art installation, edible garden, amphitheater, and shelters. I suggest you to go there when in the morning or afternoon after 4pm when it's not too hot as it barely have shade trees.
Bandung City Hall is located in the center of Bandung city. The place is are clean and well maintained. There were flowers, statues, water fountain, and ponds. In the video you can see that there were children playing football in the park using just their slipper or even bare foot. Sometimes, there were bunches of teenager practicing dance in the park especially in sunday or holiday.

Events are being held in Jakarta and Bandung, Indonesia to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Bandung Conference, a historic meeting remembered for creating a spirit of solidarity between Asia and Africa.

The tallest monument in Bandung in remembrance of the battle between Dutch troops and Indonesians on 25 March 1946. The Indonesians burnt down and destroyed the southern part of Bandung as a strategy to fight against their aggressor. It is located inside the Cikuntra Memorial Park, just across from Sri Baduga Museum.There are plenty of trees planted around Monument Bandung Lautan Api by the local government and they also provide information on kind of trees available there. Monument Bandung Lautan Api has a big open space, therefore local residents usually do exercises around this monument, especially on weekends.

Admission charges : Rp. 1,000/person (sometimes it can be free admission)
Facilities : toilets, football field
Nearby facilities : ATMs, pharmacies, money changer, mini markets
Nearby attractions : Sri Baduga Museum, the Elizabeth bag maker
How to get there : From Bandung train station, take an angkot that goes to Cibaduyut and stop at the junction of Jl. Otto Iskandardinata and Jl. Ibu Inggit Ganarsih (fare: Rp. 3,000, about 20 minutes journey). From there continue by short walking distance approx. 400 meters to Tegalega City Park
From Kebon Kalapa terminal, take an angkot that goes to Dayeuhkolot and get off at Tegalega City Park (fare: Rp. 2,000, about 5 minutes away)
Remarks : dogs are not allowed. Street hawkers available here. On Sunday, usually Monument Bandung Lautan Api becomes crowded and dirty (trashes almost every where). Beware of pickpockets around Tegalega City Park.

Gedung Sate with its uniqueness ornament skewers shaped at central building has become the mark of Bandung city that not only famous in citizen of wet java but also in the whole Indonesia. This building marked as an Icon for some other building around West Java.For Example the shape of train station at Tasikmalaya, built it 1920, the whit colored building is still stand and still used as the central government of West Java.
In Colonial time, Gedung Sate called Governments Bedrijven (GB), the first stone placed by Johanna Catheriina coops, the older Daughter of Major Bandung, b. Coops and Petronella roelofsen, representing General Mayor in Batavia, J.P. Graaf Van Limburg Stirum dated 27 July 1920.
Many architects and experts said Gedung Sate building is a stunning elegant monumental building with a unique architectural style leads to the architectural style of Indo - European. D. Ruhl in his Bandoeng en haar Hoogvlakte 1952, Gedung Sate is the most beautiful building in Indonesia .
At the top of the building there is an ornamental “Skewers” shaped with six ball of satay( another version said it was guava or jasmine) that represent six gulden - the amount charge that was used to built this building. Dated 3 December 1945 something happen in Gedung sate, the events took 7 lives from 7 young people who died defending Gedung satay from Gurkha troops. Therefore in memoriam of the Seventh, the governments build the monument behind Gedung sate hall, but then they removed the monument to the front face of Gedung Sate.
Since 1980 Gedung sate known as Major office because it was the centre of government activity of west java province. Formerly the office of the west java government was located at Gedung Kerta Mukti Braga Street Bandung.
Gedung Sate became one of the tourist attractions in Bandung City. Especially for the foreigner who comes to visit this building because they have an emotional bond with the history and the building. The emotional bond and history will be felt completely if we walk in the building and stepping the stairs one by one. There are six stairs inside the building with 10th rung in every stairs. The beauty of Gedung sate completed by the park that surrounding and groomed well by the gardener. Therefore some local musician also national actor and actresses, the bride and the groom, or even family always take the photo or video here. The similarity of Gedung sate and the white house made Gedung Sate become “the White House” of Bandung. *
