10 Travel Tips for Calgary, Banff & Alberta in Canada
These are my carefully selected top 10 travel tips for Calgary & Alberta and includes the best places, travel tips and things to do in Banff & Calgary ranging from the most famous hot dog, a helicopter ride with Rockies Heli Tours to the most beautiful place in Canada called Lake Louise. Subscribe to my channel ► for weekly videos!
Maps, address, photos & my personal advise on my blog:
I decided to visit my friends from Holland who were exploring the Canadian Rockies with their RV, before chasing them down in Banff I treated myself on the most famous hot dog in Canada at Tubby Dog and tried to break the glass floor at the Calgary Tower.
Photos, guide, maps & details on my blog:
It was such a memorable experience meeting my Dutch friends on the other side of the world so we decided to do it up proper with a family BBQ and a few local brewski's, namely the Powder Hound by The Grizzly Paw which is a local brewery in Canmore, Alberta.
On our first adventure we left in the early morning to take the Banff Gondola to Sulphur Mountain, one of the most mesmerizing views of Banff. Make sure to fill up prior on a classic Canadian breakfast at Tim Hortons, the Canadian way.
The next adventure was a private helicopter ride at Rockies Heli Canada who took us from Kananaskis through the Rocky Mountains. It was a gorgeous clear day which resulted in excellent video footage. We even saw the same river where they shot the movie: The Revenant.
What also amazed us were the buck loads of wildlife passing by the RV throughout our stay at Banff's tunnel mountain campgrounds.
In next week's article I will give you all the details on our adventure at Lake Louise were I completed an 11 hour, 20 kilometer hike, thus best is to relax and relieve your sore muscles at Banff Upper Hot Springs after that trip.
In conclusion we were very fortunate that we had excellent weather with blue skies the entire trip. I highly recommend visiting Calgary, Banff & Lake Louise in the first week of June for the best experience.

This morning I picked up my travel partner for the week at Calgary International Airport & we began our journey to Canmore, Alberta. So much beautiful scenery in Canmore & Banff National Park, but we chose to spend the afternoon on the Bow River.
It is going to be quite the adventure, but entirely worth the drive. Stick around & enjoy the scenery as we explore the Canadian Rocky Mountains, Banff National Park, Stanley Park, Othello Tunnels & more!

Canmore, Alberta: Your Epic Travel Guide For A Winter Trip In Canada
Considering Banff National Park is one of the world's most visited, it might seem obvious that most tourists would skip right past the former coal-mining town of Canmore, located right outside the park. But this is not the case. Ever since the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, of which Nordic events were held around Canmore, the town has been maintaining a name for itself as an individual destination. Beyond being a place where Olympians still train, Canmore offers travelers opportunities for winter recreation. And although there is plenty to do outside around Canmore year round, winter is my favorite season to visit. Not only does it come with fewer crowds, seeing snow covered Rockies in all their glory is breathtaking.
In this video, we will show you some of the top winter experiences you can have in this destination. Up first, it starts with ice fishing in a wooden shantee in the remote Canadian Wilderness. Owner of Banff Fly Fishing Guides, Jim Dysktra, takes guests on half day and full day trips to Spray Lakes in the Spray Valley Provincial Park. Camp is set up in a virtually barren spot on the frozen over lake away from a slew of ice fishers we pass on our way in.
Dog sledding is another top experience and after a trip with Snowy Owls, I realized the thrill of driving your own team of dogs is what makes the experience a rush. Rides wind through the Spray Valley Provincial Park. After a 30-minute drive we arrive in a remote wilderness area and can hear the dogs howling. Jeremy runs us through a thorough safety course where he still manages to work in humor. We learn how to break, cue the huskies to run and about the terrain we are going to pass through- rolling hills, steeper down hills and some uphill portions (which means you need to put your bots on the ground and run with the dogs).
For a more active experience, try cross country skiing at the Canmore Nordic Center Provincial Park, the site of the 1988 Winter Olympics . You will have a blast trying a new sport and in some incredible scenery and sweeping mountain ranges. By the end of a one-hour lesson, most are able to get the basic hang of the sport and enjoying time on some of the 70 km of surrounding trails after.
Check out town too where you could easily spend an afternoon shopping in boutiques, bookstores and shops that carry everything from outdoor gear to home goods. It’s also a place that offers tons of great dining options.
A town favorite is Grizzly Paw Brewing Company/ For the beer, I decide on a flight and was most impressed with the Beavertail Raspberry Ale and Sleeping Buffalo Stout.
For an overnight stay, check out Solara Resort and Spa about five minutes from town. Choose from 1, 2 or 3 bedroom suites that feature full size kitchens, which is perfect for a relaxing night in. Rooms also have fireplaces and balconies.

ALBERTA ROAD TRIP - BANFF ????????????
This is video 3 of 4 from our recent road trip through Alberta, Canada.
Our 4th and final video will cover the full itinerary, FAQ's and our tips for this kind of trip.
#roadtrip #alberta #travel
????IMPORTANT: When travelling these areas and any areas of the world with Wildlife, please do not approach them in the way many were when we drove past the horned sheep in the Jasper video. Always keep a safe distance or stay in your vehicle and DO NOT feed them. Simon got out of the car when we saw the Grizzly bear (we named him Peyto btw) to warn traffic to slow down to keep him safe, but of course he couldn't help but take a few pics from a distance. Once Peyto was a fair distance away we did watch him for a while (just living his best life foraging for food) with the use of our mega zoom lens camera (we really should get some binoculars ????). It was the most magical thing we've ever seen and we'll remember him (or her) forever ❤️

Canada Canmore & Lake Louise THIS IS OUR BACKYARD
Welcome to our backyard. Canmore and Lake Louise is just a short drive from our home. Stunning views and a great time. It's just a playground for anyone daring to use it. We go on two amazing hikes and check off a bucket list item by taking a helicopter tour over Canmore. Watch out for bears though they are always around. I've run into 5 bears in my life, they tend to leave you alone.
