Aruna & Hari Sharma are visiting Professors at University of Basque Country, Dept of Neuroscience from Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden. They are working here during 3 months in Summer Jun-Aug, 2017 on nanodelivery of drugs to treat Neurodegenerative diseases e.g., Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Brain and spinal cord injury in a collective project supported by Swedish Govt., Basque Govt, US Govt., Chinese Govt. and multinational EU projects.
University of Basque Country is fantastic organization with lots of facilities to work in one of the highest qualities of Laboratories and equipment’s across the World. Aruna & Hari Sharma enjoy working and leisure in Bilbao as the city and country provides excellent clean environment, nice & friendly people with very academic mindset. The University environment is great and encourages everyone to work to achieve highest quality of data and science! Places to see in ( Bilbao - Spain ) Azkuna Zentroa
Azkuna Zentroa, previously known as Alhóndiga Bilbao, is a multi-purpose venue located in the city of Bilbao, Spain. It was designed by French designer Philippe Starck in collaboration with Thibaut Mathieu and was opened to the public in stages between 18 May and 24 October 2010.
The venue, labeled as a Culture and Leisure Centre, consist of a cinema multiplex, a fitness centre, a library, showrooms, an auditorium, shops, and a restaurant. In March 2015 its name was officially changed to Azkuna Zentroa in tribute to the late mayor of Bilbao Iñaki Azkuna.
Originally a wine warehouse (alhóndiga in Spanish), it was designed by Basque architect Ricardo Bastida and inaugurated in 1909. However, in the 1970s, a new warehouse was planned and the Alhóndiga was abandoned.
Several projects were suggested, ranging from public housing, a museum of modern art, or even demolishing the entire building, but all were scrapped. Finally, in 1994 it was decided to renovate it and build a sports and culture centre. The Basque Government decided to declare the building Public Property of Cultural Interest in 1999.

Ricardo BASTIDA hit a milestone in 1905 when he successfully combined industrial architecture with an elegant design for a building in Ensanche district. A hundred years later, architect Phillipe STARK converted the old wine warehouse into a cultural and leisure centre.

Inaugurated in 2010, the complex consists of three buildings and two semi-basements housing services such as: an exhibition hall, multiplex cinemas, and an innovative multimedia library. The roof hides the swimming pool area with a diaphanous glazed floor and solarium. There is also an underground car park for 900 cars, along with specialised retailers on the premises.
