Bat cave - Battambang Cambodia
Just before the ticket office to Phnom Sampeu, a hill with the Killing Caves of the Khmer Rouge, you can see a cave about 100 metres or so up the rock face. At around about 5.30 or thereabouts every evening, you can witness a steady stream of bats exiting the cave. It takes about 40 minutes for all the bats to leave. There must be tens of thousands of bats that make this journey every night. Some locals say over 1 million bats, but who knows? Whatever the number is, it's an amazing sight. From the main road, you should be able to see the bats forming various formations in the sky.

BATS. / Battambang, Cambodia / August, 2015
As the sun descends over Battambang, Cambodia, a cave housing millions of fruit bats begins to stir. First, you hear them. Then, you see them flying in circles -- but not leaving the cave. Finally, an exodus.
A non-stop stream of fruit bats emerges from the cave and begins its collective journey to find ALL OF THE FRUIT. It is an amazing site — I couldn’t get enough. While most onlookers had enough after 5 or 10 minutes, I was there until it was too dark to really see anything. Something about it was mesmerizing to me. So. Many. Bats.

Bat caves and bamboo trains in Battambang //Cambodia Travel
Taking a full day tour in Battambang was the best experience!
I got to really see the daily lives of the people here, and how they make a living making rice paper, rice noodles, and selling goods in the market!
The bamboo train was one of my big draws of coming here and is a one way track. If there is an oncoming train, the train with the least amount of people has to disassemble their train and let the other pass! Another thing that drew me to Battambang was to see the bat caves! Millions and millions of bats fly out every night at dusk in a (not so single) formation. I ended the night at the circus, this circus was described to me as a cirque de sole of sorts. It was really cool to see this school teach this kids how to be performers and help them to have a better life!
Definitely go to Battambang if you find yourself in Cambodia!

THE KILLING CAVES / BAT CAVES | BATTAMBANG, CAMBODIA
Today I visited the Killing Caves /Bat Caves of Battambang, Cambodia.
This is a truly sad place, but yet so beautiful. It is Surrounded by rice fields, beautiful nature and cute monkeys walking around the temple that is on top of the mountain.
As soon as the sun sets, thousands of bats come flying out of the cave, which is a big spectacle.
This day was a real challenge for my emotions, as this place brings up so many diverse feelings.

Watch among nature’s greatest spectacles at Battambang bat caves
The bat caves at Phnom Sampov are among the many caves in Battambang's Banan district that are home to millions of the winged mammals. In early evening, stainless steel tables with red plastic chairs are placed along the road next to Phnom Sampov for visitors to sit and watch the bats fly out of the cave.

Exploring Battambang and the Bat Caves by TukTuk!
On our final day in Battambang we rent a tuktuk and explored the area around Battambang. There are a lot of places to see in the area and you can easily spend a day exploring Battambang.
We started our day with a visit to the Bamboo Train, of which I made a separate video. After that we went to the Killing Fields of Battambang, had a typical Cambodian snack, visited a fish market / fish factory, and we ended the day at Sampeou Mountain. We climbed the mountain, saw a killing cave, and watched how hundreds of thousands bats came flying out of a cave.
I would really love your support! Please subscribe to my channel if you got value from this video:
Battambang is a relaxed place and a great town to get away from the crowds you’ll experience in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh.
At the end of the video you see me at the hotel where we stayed. As we were traveling during low season we were able to book a room for $45.00 per night. For more details and prices, check this link;

The Battambang Bat Cave and other Battambang highlights | Loving Battambang (Cambodia Ep 5)
One of the amazing highlights of our week in Battambang was our visit to the Battambang Bat Cave, well caves! Seeing the over six million bats fly out over a short period with a beautiful sunset in the background was stunning. We also hired bicycles for a day of exploring town, and then had a day on a scooter seeing the ancient house, ek phnom, and other cool sites. Battambang is great fun.

Battambang Bat Cave - Cambodia
Every evening at sundown, bats living in the Phnom Sampov caves leave their home. We followed them on our motorbike through small villages and farm land to find an open field and watched the floating river of bats above our heads.
