Best Kyoto Sake & Food Tour | Fushimi District Best Sake In Japan
Want to experience a rock star tour of the world's greatest sake district? This is hands down the best food & drink tour we've ever done.
Kyoto is the historic capital of Japan -- The name 'Kyoto' literally translates to 'Capital City and this charming slice of old-school Japan offers a stunning range of cultural heirlooms and tasty traditions. The most notable of these traditions is arguably the craft of sake brewing; the bountiful underground springs in the precinct contain some of the purest waters on the planet, and the Japanese wasted no time in transforming this natural gift into the wondrous elixir known around the world as Sake. On this tour, you'll have a chance to sample around 25 different sakes while learning about the historic Fushimi district of Kyoto. You'll tour a 400-year-old brewery and dine at a traditional Japanese restaurant -- it doesn't get any more authentic or memorable than this.

The Himeji White Tour
Himeji Castle, also known as the White Heron Castle, is the symbol of Himeji City. A fresh image for the city is inspired by the word “Shiro”, which means “white” in Japanese. The Shoshazan Engyoji Temple is known as one of the settings of the film The Last Samurai. We visit a Japanese sake brewery and the young female chief brewer in charge, tasting some sake made from pure white rice, and also feature white bean paste “shiro-azuki” confection at Kineya Japanese sweets shop to conclude the trip. This segment features Himeji experiences with the “Shiro” theme.

Discover Kyoto Program 6 - Fushimi Inari & Sake Brewery
November 23, 2011
Discover Kyoto Program
Fushimi Inari (Harvest Festival) and Sake Brewery Tour
19 students participated in this latest Discover Kyoto Program event. The day started with a visit to the Fushimi Inari Taisha, where students were able to witness the Harvest Festival, a Shinto ritual to celebrate the year's rice harvest. Students spent the better part of 2 hours passing under the hundreds of vermillion gates as they explored the sprawling shrine. Everyone left hoping to return again soon, saying there was no way to fully experience the mystery and beauty of Fushimi Inari Taisha in a single visit.
Next the tour moved to a sake brewery where students were shown around the brewery and given explanations about the sake brewing process. They visited the archive library and finally were able to try 3 different types of sake. It was unfortunate that students were only allowed to drink a little. Many students purchased their own sake, saying I want more! and This will make a great present for my family!
During your stay in Kyoto, we encourage you to visit this brewery, and the traditional town of Fushimi for yourself.

Last month I spent three weeks exploring Japan alongside my brother and dad. It was such an incredible trip that involved hours spending money gaming at arcades, eating delicious food that consisted mainly of curry, ramen and mochi to finding serenity within treasured gardens and shrines.

Japanese Street Food Tour Top 10 in Kyoto Japan | Nishiki Market Food Guide
Top 10 Japanese Street Food Tour in Kyoto Japan. Food Guide in Nishiki Market and Gion Area, walking street food tour to my top 10 favorite street food spots. Nishiki Market is known as Kyoto’s kitchen and it’s been around for 400 years. And one of the main reasons why Nishiki Market opened up here in Kyoto is because this very spot run clean and cold groundwater which was used a refrigeration system by shop owners back in the day. Now there about 129 stores crammed in this narrow 400 meter market and it’s equally crowded with locals and tourists alike. Many Japan tourists and Japan travelers are looking for the best food market spots at Nishki and I cover some of the best shops We try the famous Tako Tamago which is an Octopus with a quail egg inside. We also try Tamagoyaki at Kai, which is a fluffy and elegant tasting Dashimaki Tamago made only with their High-end Kyoto eggs. Dashimaki Tamago is a type of Tamagoyaki but uses a Dashi soup and is usually not sweet. Also on the menu for this Kyoto Street Food tour are Oysters, Fishcakes, Grilled Fish, Cheese Tart, Fried Chicken Karaage, Black Ramen and Melon Pan Ice Cream.
This is Japan Food Travel Guide for Japan tourists and and Kyoto travelers. So many things to see and eat in Kyoto, but I wanted to give everyone a Kyoto Street food guide on Things to do in Kyoto and where to eat in Kyoto.
Nishiki Market (錦市場 Nishiki Ichiba) (literally brocade market) is a marketplace in downtown Kyoto, located on a road one block north and parallel to Shijō Street (四条通 Shijō-dōri) and west of Teramachi Street (寺町通 Teramachi-dōri). Rich with history and tradition, the market is renowned as the place to obtain many of Kyoto's famous foods and goods.
Gion is Kyoto’s geisha district, with hostesses in colorful kimonos often sighted on the wooden Tatsumi Bridge, or amid upscale Japanese restaurants and boutiques on Hanamikoji Street.
