Caribbean Cruise Vacation Day 5 Belize City
Day 5 of our cruise on the Norwegian Pearl took us to Belize City Belize. We did not do a shore excursion, just went into the port and hung out a bit and had some lunch.
I did enjoy the tinder boat rides to and from the ship. The locals were friendly and we enjoyed our seafood lunch.

Belize City, Belize ???????? - Caribbean Cruise Port of Call
A visit to the Mayan Ruins of Altun Ha, located just north of Belize City in the tropical Central American country of Belize. ☀️
Belize City is the largest city in Belize (although Belmopan is the capital) and also the port of call on most cruise itineraries to the country. It was our second stop on our 7 night Caribbean cruise aboard the Carnival Glory from New Orleans.
Belize was a British colony formerly known as British Honduras. The people mostly speak English and the country is still a part of the Commonwealth. It's been independent since 1981.
While in Belize, we visited the Mayan ruins at Altun Ha. Although not the largest site in the Mayan world, Altun Ha is significant as being home to the Jade Head, regarded as one of the greatest treasures in the Mayan world.
We ate lunch in the Belizean jungle and later returned to Belize City for some shopping and some rambling.

A Tourist's Guide to Belize City, Belize
From the Dominican Republic, I fly to Belize City, the often overlooked capital of Belize. I stay at the Radisson Fort George Hotel and then have a wander around the central core of the city, enjoying the laid back Caribbean feel.
The next morning, I take a tour of other parts of the city with a guide, including the cathedrals and Belize Museum.

Another day backpacking with Jermaine. Today we're off to Belize city then to Caye Caulker. Caye Caulker is a set of islands off the coast of Belize. Very very beautiful islands. Adventures to get to those islands. First we got to get off the bus look for a taxi take a taxi to the water taxi $15 for round trip ticket that's good up to three months. Once on the water taxi they told us that it will take about an hour to get to Caye Caulker. The entire journey only seen about 45 minutes or less. Supplies we arrived a bit earlier than expected. At first I was a little nervous it look like it was going to storm outside and I found myself getting a little boat taxi.

Riding tour of downtown Belize. Guides did a great job of discussing culture, history, and people of Belize. Downtown was interesting and the schools, businesses, and government are just as interesting. While it wasn't what we expected, we had fun, and enjoyed the adventure in a new country.

Belize Zip Line Adventure Excursion Tour
One of our stops on the Norwegian Getaway was Belize. We decided to do a zip line adventure in the jungle. These were some of the best zip lines I have ever done. They were very high off the ground and many of the runs or zips were very long. Some zip lines even lasted about 30 seconds or so.
