Shano's Trail Running Series Part 1: Belbird, Falls & Caves Binna Burra
Welcome to Shano's Trail Running Series. These short (6-8 min) videos highlight the best the Gold Coast Hinterland has to offer. Ships Stern Track (Part 1), Lamington National Park, Queensland, Australia
Descend into Kurraragin Valley from Binna Burra and walk through giant red cedar, piccabeen palm and flooded gum forests. Koolanbilba lookout offers wonderful views of Egg Rock, a rhyolite plug from an ancient shield volcano, and Turtle Rock. Share the view at Yangahla lookout with a sun basking goanna, pass the junction to the Lower Bellbird track then follow Nixon's Creek to the magnificent Lower Ballunjui Falls. Cross Chiminya Creek on the ascent to awesome Charraboomba Rock, with its spectacular panoramic views of Kurraragin Valley and Ships Stern Range. Ascend through eucalypt forest to Kooloobano Point for breathtaking views of Kurraragin and Numinbah Valleys, Egg Rock and Turtle Rock. Continue along the ridge enjoying glimpses of Numinbah Valley below and Gold Coast skyscrapers on the horizon. Goorooburra lookout and vantage points on the eastern lookouts track offer marvelous views all the way to Mt Warning. Take a detour to discover Ballunjui Cascades, Guraigumai Rock, Booboora Falls and Upper Ballunjui Falls. Follow the main track to Nagarigoon Falls and the bush camping site at Nagarigoon Clearing, then pass the entrance to Dave's Creek Track before joining the Border Track near Tullawallal.

Binna Burra walk
With Dave and his friend Cam, we walked for about 6 hours, ending up trekking in the dark of night talking all sorts of junk. Great day.

The Binna Burra section of the Lamington National Park covers more than 160 kilometres of protected walking trails, conserving Antarctic Beech, wildflowers and rare wildlife such as
the spotted-tailed quoll and Albert's lyrebird.This World Heritage area is one of two sections being Binna Burra and Green Mountains, both of which operate privately owned mountain
retreats and associated activities such as Segway, zip line and guided ranger tours through the Gondwana rainforest.Hike the signed trails, such as the 21.4 kilometre famed Border
Track with magnificent lookouts to Bellbird, Turtle Rock, Egg Rock and the Numinbah Valley; or the Caves Circuit over the Coomera Valley with Richmond birdwing butterflies, orchids
and king parrots.Green Mountains, in the hinterland of the Gold Coast and part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area, features lush rainforests, ancient trees
and spectacular views. This section of Lamington National Park is located on the western side of the Lamington Plateau. Densely-forested ranges and valleys conceal the area's ancient
volcanic origins and dramatic lookouts afford views over the southern edge of the Scenic Rim, a chain of mountains stretching from the Gold Coast hinterland to Mount Mistake.Get
away and be at one with nature as you camp at the park's Green Mountain camping area. Choose from the many half-day or full-day walks that explore the park's best attractions. In
the picnic area, take photos of crimson rosellas. On the Python Rock track, listen for the masked mountain frog's popping call. Enjoy excellent views of Morans Falls and Morans Creek
gorge on the Morans falls track. Spot leaf-tailed geckos on the West Canungra Creek track.

Lamington National Park | Day 12 Australia
My 12th day was spent in Lamington National Park with my host family. Even though there were a lot of leeches we had heaps of fun.

Settlement Campground - Springbrook National park
Address: Carricks Road, Springbrook.
This is the only camping area in the Springbrook National Park.
11 well defined separate sites. 5 sites for larger vehicles and camper trailers and 6 for walk in tent camping only. There area free electric barbeques and drinking water.

Broken Head - A Walk in the Park
Here are the four of us at Broken Head National Park. The NP is surrounded by forest, the beach and rocky shelves. The views to Byron Bay on a sunny day is exquisite.
