Binna Burra is an authentic heritage listed lodge offering a genuine Australian experience in nature. The Lodge has been welcoming guests since the early 1930s, and still retains its original charm and character.
Positioned 800 metres above sea level amidst the sub-tropical rainforest of Lamington National Park in the Gold Coast Hinterland, Binna Burra is centre stage to some of Australia's most spectacular natural features. Winding through ancient Antarctic Beech forest, along exposed escarpments and into heath-land, be amazed by the rich abundance of birds and unique wildlife that inhabit this complex and diverse ecosystem.

The unique isolation provides the perfect escape from the stresses of every day life and a chance to get back to basics, interact with nature and experience a freedom & sense of peace that few places can offer.
Binna Burra is a parcel of private land and mountain lodge surrounded by Lamington National Park in Queensland, Australia. The lodge lies in the north-eastern corner of the Lamington Plateau in the McPherson Range, 75 km south of Brisbane. It is marketed as an ecolodge.
The forests in the area are part of the World Heritage site, Gondwana Rainforests of Australia (formerly Central Eastern Rainforest Reserves). The name, Binna Burra, is an Aboriginal word meaning where the beech tree grows, referring to a stand of Antarctic Beech (Nothofagus moorei) growing in the nearby rainforest.
The vegetation ranges from subtropical and temperate rainforest to dry eucalypt and open heath. Binna Burra features a visitors centre, cafe, a guesthouse, campsites, safari tents, powered sites, picnic grounds, an Environmental Education Centre, and conference facilities.

Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk - Day 1
If you think that Australia's Gold Coast is all about glitzy sky scraper hotels, lining beaches, casinos and shopping... then I've got great news for you! The Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk is a lush 3 day walk stretching 54kms from O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat in Lamington National Park to Springbrook National Park, via Binna Burra Rainforest Lodge.
I hitted the track (courtesy of Gold Coast Tourism, O'Reillys Rainforest Retreat and BinnaBurra Lodge) with my good buddy Jen P Pen and fulfilled a dream for 2017 by doing more walks in QLD. I hope you like it too!

Coomera Falls in Lamington National Park | Brisbane, Australia
Commera Falls walk in the Lamington National Park near Brisbane, Australia. Got myself soaked in rain but it was totally worth it!
As I arrived in Brisbane, Australia I found out that the weather wasn't very good as it was raining in Brisbane. I was not happy because I was hoping to come here has been very long time so not being happy with the rain I rented a car with a plan to go search for waterfalls outside of Brisbane.
I found out that the Lamington National Park has a couple of places with waterfalls where you can take beautiful pictures so I drove there near a waterfall called Coomera.
As I arrive at the place I fount out that I had to hike about 5 kilometers just to get to the Coomera falls and as it was not raining I did. The lamington National Park is beautiful and worth a visit, lots of green and its a rainforest where you can listen to lots of birds and even find wild kangaroos.
After hiking for about 5 kilometers I got to the Coomera falls in the Lamington National Park and these waterfalls are beautiful. I took lots of pictures and after a while was time for me to come back up to the car.
What I realized was that I had been walking all the way down the mountain to see the Coomera falls and now I had to go all the way back up and as soon as I started walking it started raining a lot. I got completely soaked but it was a fun walk all the way up in the middle of the Lamington National park.
If you are around Brisbane and you don't know what to do in Brisbane or you have many other things to do in Brisbane, try to get some time and visit these waterfalls in the Lamington National Park. The coomerafalls walk in the Lamington National Park are worth it.

Minerva Hills National Park - Spectacular Volcanic Mountains
Minerva Hills is a group of mountain peaks and plateaus just north of the town of Springsure in central Queensland. Mount Zamia within the park, makes a spectacular backdrop to this small town. Roads are available to some of the peaks in the park.
Most of the peaks and plateaus are remnants of a once active volcanic area, with the central volcano plugs being all that is left. The highest and most spectacular peak in the park is Mt Thomas rising some 330 metres surrounded by sheer flanks and topped by a plateau. Many other volcanic features are present within the park including plugs, dykes and domes.
In the grassy open woodlands, mountain coolibah, silver-leaved ironbark and gum-topped bloodwood tower over macrozamia and grasstrees. Dry rainforest featuring figs, stinging trees, pittosporums and vines flourish in sheltered gorges and at the base of the sheer cliffs.
Spinifex grasslands dotted with wattles grow on the mountain summits. The park also supports spotted gum forests and low-lying heath.
Stone scatters and rock art are historical evidence of the Kariai people who lived in the surrounding area, which included the site of Springsure, at the time Europeans settled the area.
