It is also known as Merriwa Cottage and Cottage Museum. The property is owned by the Upper Hunter Shire Council and was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

Gulgong is a 19th-century gold rush town in the Central Tablelands and the wider Central West regions of the Australian state of New South Wales. The town is situated within the Mid-Western Regional Council local government area. It is located about 300 km north west of Sydney, and about 30 km north of Mudgee along the Castlereagh Highway. At the 2016 Census, Gulgong had a population of 2,521. Today, much of the 19th century character of the town remains, contributing to its appeal as a tourist destination. Glenbawn Dam is a major ungated earth and rock fill with clay core embankment dam with concrete chute spillway plus fuse plugs across the Hunter River upstream of Aberdeen in the Hunter region of New South Wales, Australia. The dam's purpose includes flood mitigation, hydro-electric power, irrigation, water supply and conservation. The impounded reservoir is called Lake Glenbawn. Glenbawn Dam was created through enabling legislation enacted through the passage of the Glenbawn Dam Act, 1946 . The Act appropriated A£1,500,000 as the estimated cost of construction of the dam.

RAAFA Heritage Museum - Historic Aircraft Over the Ages

The RAAFA Aviation Heritage Musem at Bullcreek, Perth, Western Australia is a great place to take the family and learn about the aircraft and accessories of the Royal Australian Airforce. Plenty to see and enjoy. One of the key exhibits is an Avro Lancaster Heavy Bomber similar to the one my collegues father flew in over Europe during WWII, and another a Huey helicopter similar to some of the ones I climbed in and out of in the late 60s and early 70s.
