We drove a few hours South East from Melbourne with our friends Robert and Ting, to Wilsoms Promontory National Park. We got lucky with our timing to visit Cotters Beach at Sunset and then Mount Oberon the following morning whilst it was still misty from the rain.
Along the route we finally saw some of Australia's most famous wildlife and beautiful scenery around Victoria!

Hello Melbourne Victoria - Wilsons Promontory Pt 1 of 2 (Telegraph Saddle to Sealers Cove
Welcome to the Hello Melbourne Victoria series where we will be looking at capturing different places we venture to around Melbourne & Victoria.
This video is Part 1 of 2 from our trip to Wilsons Promontory in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Wilsons Promontory National Park is a 3.5 - 4hr drive South East of Melbourne CBD. There are many hiking/camping options to choose.
The main centre for Wilsons Promontory is Tidal River. This is where the Visitors Centre is along with shops and basic amenities. The great thing about Wilsons Promontory is the different ways you can spend your time here. From doing one day hikes, staying overnight to multiple nights at various campsites or cabins.
If you are camping overnight. You will need to book your camp site in advance for a small fee. You can find more info about that here -
On this occasion we chose to Hike from Telegraph Saddle to Sealers Cove. The hike is about 10kms / 3hours where you are hiking on different terrain and can be quite hilly at times. Be sure to carry food and water with you. Please note that 3hours is one way only. If you're going in and coming out, it'll be a total of about 6hours, so prepare your timing so you don't get caught out with no daylight.
Also note that you will need to cross a stream just before you get to Sealers Cove campsite. Best to find out the tides during the day so you don't have to get wet like we did. The lovely staff at the Visitors Centre will be able to provide you with this information also. We got to Sealers Cove when it was high tide. Water level was about waist deep (I'm 172cm tall). You can choose to wait till the tide drops and get well and get across alot sooner. We chose the 2nd option as we wanted to setup camp before we had no sunlight left.
There are no campfires allowed here, so if you're looking for a place to have campfires, you may need to look else where. Camp site had different camping areas so that each group can have a little bit of privacy. We didn't expect many people to be here at this time of year, but there was a group of students who were there on their school camping trip. There is only pit toilets here. Everything else you'll need to come prepared with, including water.
Be mindful of the possums out here as they may try and get to your food source at night. There are table/benches on site for you to cook and eat. Best to do all your cooking and eating here rather than at your tent to minimise the attraction of the possums and other wildlife.
The views here are amazing with the clouds among the mountains, along with clean empty beaches with the sound of crashing waves to take you away from the regular city hustle and bustle. It is a great little get away which does require abit of an effort to get to.
Be sure to check out Part 2 of the trip which will be up next week (Hopefully Tuesday). Where we will highlight some other other areas that you could checkout on a day trip.
Hope you enjoyed the video and the read. Like, Comment & Subscribe for future videos.
If you have any questions. Leave them in the comments and I'll try and reply to them when I can.
Until the next adventure :)

Just a few clips of our Anniversary trip thrown together.
Filmed in and around beautiful Bright, Victoria.
Shot with a Nikon D810, complete disregard of shutter speeds and cinematic frame rates.. lazy shooting at it's best!
Also the Phantom 4 pro plus, of which was not performing well.. loosing connection, no gps, faulty obstacle avoidance.. this thing is giving me grey hairs. when is the new Phantom Pro coming out??
Any who.. enjoy!
