Coonamble is a town on the central-western plains of New South Wales, Australia. It lies on the Castlereagh Highway north-west of Gilgandra. At the 2016 census, Coonamble had a population of 2,750. It is the regional hub for wheat growing and sheep and wool. The name for the town is taken from the Gamilaraay word guna and -bil .Brigidine nuns from Ireland established a school in 1883. The Warrumbungles is a mountain range in the Orana region of New South Wales, Australia. The nearest town is Coonabarabran. The area is easiest accessed from the Newell Highway which is the major road link directly between Melbourne, Victoria and Brisbane, Queensland and cuts across inland New South Wales from the north to the south. What an adventure it’s been living and working out here in the Outback of Australia, working long hours, in extreme temperatures, with all sorts of creatures (some poisonous) during a desperate drought. An experience I will never forget, the people, the animals the sunrises and sunsets. Thank you Walgett.

152. Lions Park Camp Area, Premer NSW

Premer is located between Tamworth and Dubbo in NSW and offers this fantastic low cost camp area.
Set up by the local Lions Club it is a large area with few people staying each night.
The camp area offers toilets and hot shower, bins, plenty of water taps plus power.
There is no dump point in town.
There is a BBQ plus table and seating and bins are available.
There is also a children's playground and a cricket oval is next door.
The local pub is walking distance down the street.
The camp area is pet friendly.
We had good Telstra coverage but only 3G, Matt had 4G Optus coverage, however there is no Vodafone coverage.
Cost to stay is $12 per night for power and $7 per night unpowered. There are envelopes and an honesty box available for payment.
Our stay was 14-15th October 2017
