Evans Head is a town in Richmond Valley Shire of the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia. At the 2016 census, Evans Head had a population of 2,847 people. It is 726 kilometres north of Sydney, and 11 kilometres east off the Pacific Highway from Woodburn.

The Bundjalung National Park is a 210-square-kilometre national park located on the north coast of New South Wales, Australia, 554 kilometres north-east of Sydney. It protects an area of coastal plain, heathland and solitary beaches between the towns of Iluka and Evans Head. The park features coffee rock formations that can be found on the beaches at its northern end. Along the Iluka peninsula coast at the southern end of the park are a number of closely spaced headlands that create small crescent shaped beaches of white sand. Each headland features rock platforms cut by waves and contain rock pools that are havens for intertidal marine life. Evans Head Memorial Aerodrome is an airport in Evans Head, New South Wales. The airport is approximately 1 km north of the village. During World War II it was Royal Australian Air Force Station Evans Head supporting RAAF No 1 Bombing and Gunnery School and subsequently the RAAF No 1 Air Observers School. At the height of operations there were three asphalt runways and one grass strip. Only a single asphalt strip is still in use by private aviation. Natural Bridge is a locality in the far south west of the City of Gold Coast local government area of South East Queensland, Australia. Its name is taken from a rock arch in Springbrook National Park. A waterfall along Cave Creek, a tributary of the Nerang River flows through the arch. Natural Bridge is located at the southern extent of the Nerang River valley on the southern border with New South Wales, between the Springbrook plateau and Binna Burra in the Scenic Rim Region. Kirra is a beach-side suburb of the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. The small rocky headland Kirra Point separates Kirra beach to the north and Coolangatta beach to the south, and is noted as one of the world's premier surf breaks. In the past the surf break was known for producing high quality barrels. Today sand pumping across the Tweed River mouth has filled it in and changed its character. Jetty Fishing, Evans Head

One of my fondest childhood memories was fishing with my granddad as a young boy of about five or six years of age around the entrance in New South Wales. We’d fish lakes for flathead, bream and whiting and I loved fishing from the jetty. Well, it’s all coming back to me today as we wet a line from a similar jetty outside the Fishing Co-op at Evans Head on the NSW north coast.
