Walcha is a town at the south-eastern edge of the Northern Tablelands, New South Wales, Australia. The town serves as the seat of Walcha Shire. Walcha is located 425 kilometres by road from Sydney at the intersection of the Oxley Highway and Thunderbolts Way. The Apsley River passes through the town to tumble over the Apsley Falls before joining the Macleay River further on. Originally the river caused flooding in the town prior to a levee bank being constructed and saving the town from more floods. 1. Apsley Falls Walcha
The Apsley Falls are two waterfalls on the Apsley River in the Northern Tablelands region of New South Wales, Australia. The falls are located about 20 kilometres east of Walcha, and 1 kilometre off the Oxley Highway in a deep gorge, that is part of the Oxley Wild Rivers National Park. They are the first falls in a succession of dramatic drops in an area that has some of the most remarkable scenery in Eastern Australia. The first drop of the falls is about 65 metres in depth, and the second, which is about 800 metres further on, plummets 58 metres metres to the bottom of the gorge.

Australian Landscape in Sheep Country, Snowy Mountains, NSW

I'm in sheep country, Snowy Mountains near Cooma with winter snow disappearing rapidly from the horizon. I posted a video recently of the Aussie outback from 40,000 feet, this time I'm feet on the ground, showing the vastness of our land they call Australia.There are not many houses around here and the properties can be quite large. The climate and landscape are ideal for wool growing, something that made Australia what it is today. Also check out the country style letter boxes where mail is delivered by 4WD to the roadside of each property.

The Glen at Uralla in NSW is a 48 hour Free camp rest area, just 85kms north of Tamworth and approx 20kms south of Armidale.
A great spot, we were the only ones there the night of our stay.
Toilets and Water are available in the Rotary Park opposite the Rest area.
It is close to the Highway and does have some truck noise.
It is pet friendly and there's a off leash dog park behind it.
We had excellent coverage with Telstra, Vodafone and Optus.
The cost to stay is Free
Our stay was 9-10th October 2017.
