ប្រាសាទបេងមាលា Beng Mealea Temple ( Siem Reap Province Cambodia)
Located in Siem Reap Province Cambodia
Prasat Beng Mealea was built by king Suryavarman II, early 12th century by primary deity to Vishnu with architecture of Angkor Wat.
This temple is located 40 km east of the main group of temples at Angkor, and 77 km from Siem Reap by road.
Beng Mealea (its name means lotus pond) is a temple in the Angkor Wat style located 40 km east of the main group of temples at Angkor, Cambodia, on the ancient royal highway to Preah Khan Kompong Svay.
It was built as hinduist temple, but there are some carvings depicting buddhist motifs. Its primary material is sandstone and it is largely unrestored, with trees and thick brush thriving amidst its towers and courtyards and many of its stones lying in great heaps. For years it was difficult to reach, but a road recently built to the temple complex of Koh Ker passes Beng Mealea and more visitors are coming to the site, as it is 77 km from Siem Reap by road.

Cambodia Vlog: Beng Mealea, Floating Village, Roluos Group!
instagram.com/timandglo
November 10, 2014
We spent most of day two about an hour outside of Siem Reap. Our guesthouse arranged for us to visit Beng Mealea, Kampong Phluk, and the Roluos Group of Angkor Wat temples with a private car and driver for $60.
We felt like real explorers at Beng Mealea, where we climbed over ruins and piles of rubble. Because Beng Mealea is not part of Angkor Wat, we had to pay a separate admissions fee of $5 per person. It's possible to take a tuk tuk to Beng Mealea, which will be cheaper than a car but the ride will take longer and it's not nearly as comfortable given all the rocky dirt roads in the area.
Based on the underwhelming results of our online research for the floating village of Kampong Phluk, we decided before arriving in Cambodia that we would give it a skip. But because it's on the way back to Siem Reap from Beng Mealea, we decided to give it a try. Although it was a pricey tourist activity for Cambodian standards, we were happy with the overall experience. The cost of the boat ride to the floating village is $20 per person. Once you're at the village, you have the option to transfer to a canoe for a more intimate paddle through the village as well as a gorgeous mangrove forest. We were charged $10 per person for the canoe ride, but we later learned that the price is not set and other tourists negotiated to pay just $4 or $5 per person.
Our last stop was two of of the three Roluos Group of temples. Because they are part of Angkor Wat, we were able to use our three-day passes to see Lolei and Bakong. Because of time constraints (the temples close at 5:00 pm) and low light, we had to skip the third Roluos Group temple, Preah Ko.

Bakong Temple in Cambodia | Attraction in Siem Reap Province
Travel on National Hightway 6 from Phnom Penh city to Siem Reap province for about 4 hours, we will get to the entrance of Bakong Temple. We need to turn left and travel on a small paved road for another 45min to be at Bakong Temple. It's about 308.10 kilometers from Phnom Penh to Bakong Temple. The temple is located at Roluos district, in Siem Reap province. From the entrance, we will reach Preah Ko temple first then Bakong temple next. So Bakong temple is at south of Preah Ko temple. It's a beautiful and amazing temple registered as Angkor World Heritage in 1992. It's one of the temple in Rolous temple group at Siem Reap. We got there around 11:50am, while it's so hot and we had lunch after a visit of the temple. It's a great trip.

Beng Mealea On The Road Less Traveled (HD)
Approximately 70km from Siem Reap lies a remote, lost temple in the jungle - Beng Mealea. Much less-visited than those at Angkor Wat, this site will give you the chnce to play Indiana Jones in a way the more popular places can't. It's thought to predate the temples by Angkor Wat, and nobody really knows why it ended up in ruins, swallowed by the surrounding jungle.

Hi def
Study Beng Mealea
Temple (English version)
Beng Mealea was built as a Hindu temple, but some carvings depict Buddhist motifs.
The history of the temple is unknown and it can be dated only by its architectural style, identical to Angkor Wat, so scholars assumed it was built during the reign of king Suryavarman II in the early 12th century.
Traveling in Siem Reap Province to Chi Kreng District
We just left Theam's Gallery in Siem Reap town heading Beng Mealea temple. this video is a part of our road trip from Krong to Dam Dek Market heading to Boeung Mealea temple. We stoped at Tela Gas Station for WC and some snack and played with puppies. We continued our road trip on National Highway 6 and turn left at Dam Lek Market to National Road No.64. We stopped along Road No.64 to buy jungle rambutans and boiled corns. Corns here is strange with 3 colors, yellow-white, brown, and purple. Vendors called it highlighted corn. the price is 5000riel for 10 corns.
