Welcome to the Albion River Inn
Welcome to the Albion River Inn, a little slice of heaven on earth. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, Albion River Inn's spectacular ocean views and relaxed seaside ambiance offer an ideal romantic get-away for you.
Everything is geared to your comfort and pleasure. You're surrounded by natural beauty, cool, comfortable temperatures, fresh ocean air, and breathtaking vistas. Our fine lodging and dining, plus the easy pace of life on the Mendocino Coast, will steal your heart away.
Albion River Inn crowns ten acres of headland bluffs and gardens above the sea. Our architectural style, like most buildings on the Mendocino Coast, reflects the New England roots of the settlers who arrived here in the early 1850s. The ocean view is the heart of the Albion River Inn experience, and guest rooms and cottages open to dramatic views and private decks.
Our lodgings are individually decorated. King or queen beds with down comforters, fireplaces, easy chairs, private decks, garden entrances, and an abundance of amenities like binoculars to enhance your whale and bird watching, await you. Our spacious spa tub cottages, and guestrooms with large soaking “tubs for two,” add an extra measure of luxury to your stay, and a chef cooked complimentary full breakfast is yours each morning of your stay with us.
The Albion River Inn Restaurant is open nightly showcasing the Coastal Cuisine of Chef Stephen Smith which celebrates California's north coast bounty of fresh seafood, locally grown produce, wild mushrooms, fruit, and also offers succulent meat, fowl, pasta dishes, and dessert. Window walls provide spectacular ocean views from every table, and a cozy fireplace and burnished bar lend a soft romantic glow to the tastefully decorated interior. A selection of over 500 wines and 130 single-malts has earned our restaurant the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 19 consecutive years, and our friendly and knowledgeable staff have one goal, to make your every dining experience with us a memorable one.
We are located in a serenely rural ocean side setting in Albion, only 7 miles south of Mendocino. Within minutes you can shop art galleries and boutiques, hike on the beach or headland parks, play golf, tennis, fish, kayak, or bicycle. Nearby you'll find horseback riding, local wineries, and microbreweries. Annual festivals such as the Crab & Wine Festival in Jan/Feb, Whale Festival in March, Mendocino Film Festival in May, Mendocino Music Festival in July, Winesong in September, and the Wine & Mushroom Festival in November, the Writers Workshop etc, provide an abundance of seasonal entertainment with excellent food and wine tasting events. Local theater, music, dance and comedy groups, entertain throughout the year.
Albion River Inn's cooking classes have been a favorite with locals and visitors for 15 years. Singer/songwriter performances take place during our seasonal Cabarets, and will begin again in this fall. For the artistically inclined, the Mendocino Art Center provides excellent workshop instruction in a variety of artistic mediums, and an art & craft fair.
Best of all, at the end of a day as busy or quiet as you wish, your room at Albion River Inn with spectacular sunsets, and a cozy fireplace to end a perfect day. Fall and winter lodging discounts make a vacation from November 1st - March 31st, even more enticing with 30% off Sunday ~ Thursday, excluding weekends and holiday periods.
Heritage House Inn, Little River (Mendocino), CA - 01/21/13
This is a tribute to the former and historic Heritage House Inn in Little River, California, just south of Mendocino. For many, the Heritage House Inn was a favorite and romantic getaway right on the coast. My wife and I went to the beautifully landscaped resort annually, mainly staying in the Next Year and even the Same Time units, which was used for exterior shots in the movie Same Time Next Year. Unfortunately, the resort went through different owners, bankruptcy, back due taxes and ultimately closure around 2008. It is unclear if a new owner is involved, but there are work trucks and some construction going on. The landscaping is not as colorful as it once was (there are some brown patches here and there), but the large lawn area close to Highway 1 has been mowed.
In the video, we pass the Heritage House Inn three times: first heading south, made a U-turn to head back north, and then turned around to finally go back south. Here's hoping this brings back some memories to those who have stayed at this quiet and relaxing, yet simple, resort. At least, my wife and I will always have fond memories of our stay there.

Fire in the city reached the city crossing the river in California.
If you like this video comment me.
Many countries in Asia, North America and Europe are desperate due to the severe heat and drought. The biggest problem is that Europe and America are caught. The 42-year-old record of heat in Britain broke. At the same time, in the United States of California, due to strong heat and droughts in the jungle, the flames have rushed to the residential area. Fire crossed the river and reached Redding in the residential area of the city.About 29 thousand acres of area has become clean. For this reason, the people have been told to evacuate the city. Many people have also been injured in the accident.

California's Russian River Jump off rock HIGH ADRENALIN JUNKIES
summer of 2009. The Russian River springs from the Laughlin Range about 5 mi (8 km) east of Willits in Mendocino County. It flows generally southward to Redwood Valley, then parallels U.S. Route 101 past Calpella, to join the East Fork Russian River just below Lake Mendocino.
From there the Russian River flows south, past Ukiah and Hopland, and crosses into Sonoma County just north of Cloverdale. Closely paralleled by U.S. Route 101, it descends into the Alexander Valley, where it is joined by Big Sulphur Creek. It flows south past Cloverdale, Asti, and Geyserville.
East of Healdsburg, Maacama Creek joins the Russian River. After a series of sweeping bends, the river flows under U.S. Route 101 and receives water from Lake Sonoma via Dry Creek. The river then turns westward and joins Mark West Creek north of Forestville. The river passes Rio Dell, Rio Nido, and Guerneville, where it meets State Route 116. Paralleled by State Route 116, it continues past Guernewood Park and Monte Rio. Austin Creek enters from the north before passing through Duncans Mills then the Russian River flows under State Route 1 and empties into the Pacific Ocean between Jenner and Goat Rock Beach. Its mouth is about 60 mi (100 km) north of the San Francisco Bay's Golden Gate.
The lower Russian River is a popular spring, summer, and fall destination for tourists as the river is very safe then for swimming and boating, with a gentle current. The river is dangerous in the winter, with swift current and muddy water.
