(EP27) Bill Richardson's Transport World! Invercargill, New Zealand
Yes, the 'HubNut Goes Global' tour recommences! While in Invercargill (see episode 26), I took several hours to explore Bill Richardson's Transport World. It's an incredible museum, with a large collection of classic trucks, the odd bus, several tractors and some classic cars thrown into the mix for good measure. Three generations of Richardson's family have added their own spin over the years and it is still a family business. Enjoy! (oh, there's some bonus Motorcycle footage from Bill Richardson's Motorcycle Mecca at the end).
HubNut support and shop options can be found by visiting - Christmas deadlines fast approaching! Internal stickers back in stock soon.
Bill Richardson's Transport World - Invercargill NZ - Classic Restos Series 33
Proof of Invercargill's title of the Classic Automotive hub of New Zealand is Fletch's' next stop at Bill Richardson Transport World. An Automotive Museum featuring 150 Vintage trucks, cars and transport memorabilia. Local transport company operator, Bill Richardson's love of trucks, is on display and his daughter Jocelyn talks of her father's love of vehicles and in particular his trucks and the legacy that is being continued today by his family. Graham one of the museum curators takes Fletch on a tour of just a few of the many museum highlights including a 1940 Dodge RX70 Texaco Truck, the most well know and photographed vehicle in the museum. But it's not all trucks; there is an impressive line of early Ford vehicles including a 1904 Ford AC through to a 1922 Doctors Coupe, the museum boasts 7 of the 8 models that preceded the Model T Ford, all on display in magnificently restored condition. One of the museum feature displays is a complete replica of Henry Ford's first workshop featuring a replica of the 1896 Ford Quadricycle built in 1963. The tour continues with an array of engines, petrol bowsers and transport vehicles, a hugely impressive display in Invercargill in New Zealand's Southland.

Classic Truck Collection at the Bill Richardson Transport World Automotive Museum, Invercargill, New Zealand.
This is a stunning display of classic cars and trucks, the vast majority of which originates from one mans collection. Some vehicles are beautifully restored, while others are in a more lived in condition. There is so much to see at this place, the collection of old petrol pumps and automotive signage is more than impressive on its own, added to that is the trucks, cars, tractors and stationary hit & miss engines. Well worth a visit for anyone.

Bit of everything there right back through the ages. I recommend this place. My wife thought she wouldn't like it but she was amazed at what was there to see.
