Here is a night trip from the City Center of Haikou along Benhai Avenue out to Mission Hills and Centreville. The trip travels along Benhai Avenue and Longkun Road. One will enjoy the night lighting, which the city uses to illuminate the many Coconut Palms lining its streets.

Haikou is the capital and most populous city of Hainan province, China. It is situated on the northern coast of Hainan, by the mouth of the Nandu River. The northern part of the city is the district of Haidian Island, which is separated from the main part of Haikou by the Haidian River, a branch of the Nandu.
Haikou is a comprising four districts, and covering 2,280 square kilometres (880 sq mi). There are 2,046,189 inhabitants in the built up area all living within the 4 urban districts of the city.
Haikou was originally a port city. Today, more than half of the island's total trade still goes through its ports. The city is home to Hainan University, which has its main campus on Haidian Island.

Holiday Beach is beach and visitor attraction located along Binhai Road, Haikou, Hainan, China.
The 7-kilometre-long, 33 hectare beach area was officially established in 1995. Since then, it has undergone development with the establishment of visitor attractions such as restaurants, swimming pools, an outdoor roller skating rink, and an amphitheatre. The land beside the beach has been landscaped and pathways created. The entire shoreline is maintained by workers who remove rubbish.
Holiday beach is a popular destination for tourists. It is known by residents of Haikou as a place to eat chuanr at night.
The beach has also been the site of major competitions for such sports as kitesurfing and volleyball

Holiday Beach is a typical place for touring and having leisure at the beach. The Holiday Beach is
located at the side of Qingling Road of the west in Haikou, and the total length of the Holiday Beach is 6 kilometers.
The whole beach can be divided into four areas: sun bath area on the beach, sport area in the sea,
ocean food area and holiday area. There are also many sports and performances around the beach. All
of them are for free. The golden sunshine, blue seawater, yellow beach and green coconut trees form
a great picture of the seashore. You can’t miss it!

How to get there: there are Special minibuses to Holiday Beach in the downtown area of Haikou; or
you can take Buses No. 40, 28, 29, Y1 or Y2 to get there

Here is a night visit to the Evergreen Park pedestrian Overpass in Haikou. The Overpass crosses Binhai Avenue. This video looks at the attractive light display on the buildings as well as the palm trees along Binhai Avenue.

Baishamen Park (白沙门公园)

Baishamen Park is a park located in the northern part of Haidian Island, Haikou City, Hainan Province, China.
Opened on January 24, 2009, the park and has a total area of 60 hectares. It contains a small amusement park, and artificial lake. The northern edge is a sandy beach on the Qiongzhou Strait.
It is one of the major parks in Haikou, and can be compared to Evergreen Park, due to its high percentage of grass fields. The other two, Golden Bull Mountain Ridge Park and Haikou People's Park, have a high percentage of tree cover.

Yalong Bay (Chinese: 亚龙湾) is a 7.5 kilometres (4.7 mi) beach located southeast of Sanya City, Hainan Province, China. It is also known as the Yalong Bay National Resort.
亚龙湾是中华人民共和国海南省三亚市东郊的一处优质热带海滨风景区，距离市中心区约10公里。海湾以野猪岛为中心，南有东洲岛、西洲岛，西面有东排、西排，可开展多种水上运动。

Our journey to China begins in Haikou, a city in Hainan province. Hainan is a subtropical island south of mainland China. Haikou is characterized by tropical climate, beaches, forests and mountains.

This Hainan Western Line trip was via Sanya, Ledong, Dongfang, Changjiang, Danzhou, Lingao, Chengmai and Haikou on Sept 5th to 6th, 2018. We drove off the highways and other types of roads.
1. We drove from Sanya to Lingao via Ledong, Dongfang, Changjiang and Danzhou on Sept 5, 2018. We visited Sanya Daxiao Dongtian scenic spot, Danzhou Dongpo College, Danzhou Zhonghe Town and Lingao Corner along the way. We stayed at Linao Golden Beach Hot Spring Hotel at night.
2. We drove from Linao to Haikou via Chengmai on Sept 6, 2018. We visited the Crater National Geological Park along the way.
After that, we continued to drive from Haikou to Sanya along the Hainan Eastern Line on September 6, 2018. Please see this video below:

In this video presentation I travel via a Didi Car on the streets of Haikou in Hainan Province in China. My journey begins in the suburban area south of the city called the Mission Hills Resort Area. Specifically, I am leaving the Renaissance Haikou Hotel. From here I travel north via highways to the point where I travel on surface streets. I cross the river and travel in East Haikou north toward the sea. The final destination is the Hot Spring Coast hotel located on the South China Sea. This is the former Crown Spa Resort Hainan where I stayed for 5 wonderful visits from 2008 through 2012. In another video I will explore the new hotel.
