The Birks of Aberfeldy, Perthshire
This beautiful walk up the steep gorge of Moness burn with its many waterfalls was filmed in February 2017. It inspired Robert Burns to write the song The Birks of Aberfeldy (see below).

The Birks Of Aberfeldy
by Robert Burns (1787)
Chorus:
Bonie lassie, will ye go,
Will ye go, will ye go,
Bonie lassie, will ye go
To the birks of Aberfeldy!
Now Simmer blinks on flowery braes,
And o'er the crystal streamlets plays;
Come let us spend the lightsome days,
In the birks of Aberfeldy.
Bonie lassie, etc.
While o'er their heads the hazels hing,
The little birdies blythely sing,
Or lightly flit on wanton wing,
In the birks of Aberfeldy.
Bonie lassie, etc.
The braes ascend like lofty wa's,
The foaming stream deep-roaring fa's,
O'erhung wi' fragrant spreading shaws –
The birks of Aberfeldy.
Bonie lassie, etc.
The hoary cliffs are crown'd wi' flowers,
White o'er the linns the burnie pours,
And rising, weets wi' misty showers
The birks of Aberfeldy.
Bonie lassie, etc.
Let Fortune's gifts at randoe flee,
They ne'er shall draw a wish frae me;
Supremely blest wi' love and thee,
In the birks of Aberfeldy.
Bonie lassie, etc.

Scotland's Scenery! Walk from the Birks of Aberfeldy to Kenmore
This video is about a club hike in Scotland, UK from Aberfeldy to Kenmore through the 'Birks of Aberfeldy' made famous by scottish poet Robert Burns.
Birks of Aberfeldy. From Wiki:
The Birks of Aberfeldy is a song lyric written for a pre-existing melody in 1787 by Robert Burns. He was inspired to write it by the Falls of Moness and the birch trees of Aberfeldy during a tour of the Scottish Highlands with his friend William Nicol.
With huge thanks to John Convery and Donald Smith for contributing the brilliant group photographs!

Rob Roy Way 2017 Section Hike - Day 3: Aberfeldy to PItlochry (female solo hike)
This is the third and final episode from my section hike of the Rob Roy Way, walking from Aberfeldy to Pitlochry (15km / 9.5miles).
That day I woke up after a very short night (the price to pay for having attended the Aberfeldy Festival the night before) and set off to reach Pitlochry by lunchtime to meet my friends and drive back to Edinburgh.
Such a beautiful day - first walking by the shores of the River Tay and then up on the moors overlooking the valley. I wish I'd felt a bit less tired but yet again, the views rewarded my efforts :) I recommend this section as a day hike if you're short of time.

Burst o' Aberfeldy (Birks of Aberfeldy)
It may look like an ordinary video, shot in a beautiful forest during a relaxing walk among the trees and the waterfalls, but this short clip has a peculiarity: it is entirely made by sequences of pictures.
Every single scene has been made by putting together a burst of 24 photos per second, shot with my Sony RX100 mkV. Therefore each scene is the result of a few seconds of continuous shooting, handheld, and it's made of a variable number of pictures, between 100 and 200.
Though this is basically a time-lapse, as the creating process is the exact same one, it is ideally the opposite of the time-lapse video concept, as there is no effective lapse between one picture and the nex one.
Each frame is a single 20 mpx JPG file, so that the camera could shoot for a longer time without running out of buffer space; in JPG, with a fast SD card, the RX100 is capable of shooting up to 200 consecutive photos. I've edited each sequence in Lightroom + LRTimelapse, while the final editing and color grading is done in Premiere Pro.
As far as the music is concerned, I made it just by letting my mind wander along the memories of that relaxing walk in the woods.
I have to thank my friend and colleague Fortunato Gatto for being so patient and not having left me there while I was shooting this short clip (when I'm doing something I enjoy, it's always like five more minutes), the Birks of Aberfeldy for having given me this beautiful scenery and Corrado Cabras of Photofuture for the Sonyc support.
I hope you enjoyed the video, leave a like and a comment if you did :)
Cheers.

Cheers.

Scotland - Acharn and Aberfeldy - Winter Waterfalls
Our first road trip of 2019, exploring Perthshire, Loch Tay and local waterfalls. Perfect for short winter hikes.
We departed from Edinburgh and in less than 2 hours with 1 quick coffee stop we reached small place next to Loch Tay called Acharn. The stop at the foot of Loch Tay is a must if you are after beautiful Highlands scenery. We then continued down the road and took a short trek in Birks of Aberfeldy. All in all a fantastic all day trip.

Chocolate & Scottish Whisky Together?? | Dewars Aberfeldy Distillery Tour | Perth, Scotland [Ad]
Scottish whisky is world renowned but with chocolate? Today we head to Dewars Aberfeldy Distillery for a tour to see why Scotland is known for it's whisky and pair with chocolate! ⬇ More Below ⬇
Welcome back to Scotland! Today we wanted to learn more about why Scottish whisky is so well known, so we head to Dewars Aberfeldy for a distillery tour and tasting with chocolate pairings and what a day!
Whisky from Scotland is world renowned and we can understand why now. The distillery tour was eye opening to see how meticulous the process is and the love that goes into every bottle. We're honestly not big spirit drinkers but Dewars definitely positioned their distillery tour and whisky tasting to us in a way that was much more approachable - with chocolate! It's crazy how much the chocolate changes the profile of the whisky and now we're both a lot more open to whisky.
Having all the notes listed in front of us helped with the tasting as well, to an untrained drinker (us both haha) we really feel like our eyes are open to whisky now and will be looking for the Scottish magic around the world.
