Canoeing on the River Blackwater in Ireland

Blackwater Kayaks and Canoes operate a great little business in County Waterford in Ireland. You can hire a canoe or a kayak for the day and spend hours of fun on the River Blackwater, which runs right through County Waterford. Usually starting out in Cappoquin and ending at Villiers Town, you can book for parties of up to 30 people and you are supplied life jackets and and accompanied by instructors in speed boats to help you if you get in trouble. I made this film for them in one day and had so much fun. It really did not feel like a days work. I was very well looked after by business owner Steve, he made sure none of my cameras got wet, and kept me in the speed boat. The aerial shots were done by stopping off up ahead of the party, quickly setting up the drone, getting the shots, and then back in the speed boat. If you've never been canoeing before, i would highly recommend it.

Sail Aweigh - Cappoquin 2010

On an afternoon in 2010 we headed off to Cappoquin on 'Nightvision' our 6.7mtr Training RIB. Having finished a course we struck off up the River Blackwater. This film was made, edited and gifted to us by one of the students - Eugene Mehegan.
We hope you enjoy.
The shoot begins at Dromana and continues until we berthed at the Rowing Club Pontoon in Cappoquin.
