Natural Bridges National Monument | Three bridges to the past in Utah
Natural Bridges National Monument is a wonderful place to spend a day hiking and photographing 3 natural bridges.
Make our day! Give us a thumbs-up, SUBSCRIBE, COMMENT, and/or SHARE this video. Are we asking TOO much?

ABOUT NATURAL BRIDGES NATIONAL MONUMENT
This is an awesome place for a day hike! Natural Bridges National Monument in southeastern Utah sits high on Cedar Mesa, 6,500 feet above sea level. Intermittent streams have cut two deep canyons and three massive bridges in sandstone formed from what was once the shore of an ancient sea. At each of the bridges, trails descend into the canyons from a 9-mile rim-top loop road. A longer trail meanders along stream beds and the canyon bottoms through oak and cottonwood groves, connecting the three bridges in one loop hike. The monument is somewhat isolated but, for a day trip, you will find it well worth your time.
There is also a campground and picnic areas within the park.
Electricity in the park comes entirely from a large solar array near the visitors center.
In 2007, the International Dark-Sky Association named Natural Bridges the first International Dark-Sky Park, which is a designation that recognizes not only that the park has some of the darkest and clearest skies in all of the United States, but also that the park has made every effort to conserve the natural dark as a resource worthy of protection.[5][6] To date, Natural Bridges has the only night sky monitored by the NPS Night Sky Team that rates a Class 2 on the Bortle Dark-Sky Scale, giving it the darkest sky ever assessed.
That’s just a small part of the adventure and beauty you’ll find here!

Natural Bridges National Monument - Utah
July 12th - 2014
A short detour between Cortez and Moab, west of Hwy 191 puts you at Natural Bridges National Monument. The camp sites are all first come and there are no hook-ups of any kind, but there is a spigot at the visitor center where you can fill a bucket. I'm always amazed at how different many of the National Monuments are in the South West and Natural Bridges has it's own look, feel and appeal. It's also one of the darkest night sky locations and the night we stayed there was the Super moon. We got there around 11am and by noon it was 98 degrees. It was a chore lugging the camera and tripod up and down trails to vantage points in that heat but we survived :-)
