Blue Hole Mineral Spring | Negril | Jamaica
My trip to Blue Hole Mineral Spring in Negril Jamaica.
A hidden gem that you should explore soon!
The Blue Hole is located about 30 min. from Negril near the community of Little Bay.
Experience the thrill of jumping off a cliff (or climb down a ladder) 22 ft. to swim in the hole's cool mineral water reputed to have therapeutic properties that energize and refresh.
A separate swimming pool is feed by the same mineral water.
They open at 9 am and have a bar/grill, cabana and volleyball court so you can spend the day here and enjoy the county side.

HIKE TO THE PEAK OF BLUE MOUNTAIN , JAMAICA
THE VIEW OF ON THE WAY TO THE PEAK WAS JUST SO CHARMMING, HAPPY TO BE IN JAMAICA !
Hike up Blue Mountain, Jamaica
In this video we hike up to the peak of Blue Mountain. At 2256 meters it is the highest point in Jamaica.
Trail to the peak of Blue Mountain: The trail starts at around 1254 meters and takes you through a series of switchbacks, ravines, rainforest, ridges, and coffee plantations ending up at the peak. Over all it is just over 10 km and can be easily done in 3 hours up and 2 hours down. Trail is very easy to navigate as it is almost always just a single track without any turn-offs, so no guide needed.
Getting to Blue Mountain: It is impossible to drive there unless you have some very capable 4x4. Rental car can't get there, believe me, we tried... So what are your options? Well, there are two:
1. You can easily make it to Mavis Bank where you can ask around and easily get a ride to the start of trail, but that will come out to around $60 US each way.
2. If you have an SUV you can get to Hagley Gap and get a ride to the trail from there for half the price, $30 US.
In both cases once you park your car a local will ask you for parking fee. Negotiate and pay him some Jamaican dollars when you get back, you car will be safe. May be even washed. I have a number for a guy who gave us a ride in his Suzuki if anyone wants it.
Also be prepared to pay the ranger at the ranger station half way. It was $200 jmd for locals or $20 us for tourists. We didn’t have enough money as tourist so pretended to be locals and that went well.
Some people get a ride to Wild Flower Lodge or Whitfield Hall and start the hike at 2 am to get to the peak at sunrise. This way there are almost no clouds at the peak and some say you can even spot Cuba. We got there around 12 pm and still had an amazing experience.

We travelled to the cool hills of Irish Town, then after that we went deeper into the hills of Blue Mountain to the Haile Selassie School of Vision Rastafarian community.
This was definitely a great adventure, seeing a different side of Jamaica. Check out the vlog.

A jump into the Blue Hole in Negril Jamaica
Jumping off a 25 foot cliff into an underground oasis, yoga on the cliff side of Negril, playing basketball in Jamaica and a beautiful sunset for the first episode of this channel.
I had the chance to visit the Blue Hole Mineral Spring just outside of Negril in Brighton Westmoreland (same Parish Negril is in). It’s about a 30 minute drive from Negril. This was my second visit to this attraction. It’s perfect for a half day trip outside from Negril. It’s close enough where you can hangout for a few hours and still be able to make it back to your hotel to chill on the beach and catch the sunset. The main attraction is the 25 foot cliff which you can jump from. For those in need of a little bit more of a challenge there’s a tree you can climb up and jump from. I’d say that’s probably another 12 to 15 feet higher. You can see a couple of people jumping/hanging from those trees in the video. The Blue Hole is open from 10 am to 6 pm.

- Mineral Pool

I try to do yoga at least once a week. It’s great for maintaining flexibility and really gives me a good stretch with all the running I’m doing. I usually go to Jackies on the Reef for my yoga. It is extremely peaceful and Jacky always has great yoga instructors. For this class I did yoga with Stephanie who is from Germany but lives in Jamaica. She’s a great instructor. I’m sure I’ll do a full review of Jackies on the Reef sometime in the near future. It’s much more than a great place to do yoga.

For you basketball people out there we play basketball in Negril every weekend downtown at the Negril beach park. Sunday’s are the biggest days where we get the most players to come out. We usually get out there at about 4:30 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. We usually play 3 on 3 ball.

Traveling to Negril, Jamaica in 2019 | FACTS YOU NEED TO KNOW
Greetings, Travelers! Welcome back to Traveling-Guru where we take an insider look at travel and tourism. I’m your host Dennis Foutz and if you haven’t already done so, please subscribe to this YouTube channel.
Seven-Mile Beach.
Watching the sun set from Negril’s glorious seven-mile beach, it’s easy to see why the “Flower Children” of the 60’s flocked to this remote spot at the western tip of Jamaica. The beach is now lined with appealing resorts from well-known, Jamaica based all-inclusive chains such as Sandals, Couples, Spain-based Riu, Blue Diamond and other developers. Wisely, all buildings are limited to the height of the coconut trees and set back, so the broad beach and offshore reef feel as unspoiled and inviting as ever.
Anything Goes
Despite its growth, Negril retains its laid-back, anything goes allure. Here, clients can find discrete clothing optional beaches and even pool areas and eateries, especially at Hedonism II, which is known for its party-hearty ambience.
West End
The let-it-be, no worries, no problem-attitude is most felt in the West End area. Here boutique hotels such as Rockhouse and Tensing Pen Resort, and modest guest house are tucked into the dramatic rocky cliffs. There are also a number of small, friendly eateries and bars. The area’s first and most famous, Rick’s Café, has ballooned in size and patronage, but retains its funky feel and sunset cliff diving tradition
Dining
Great seafood and Jamaican cuisine have become a Negril hallmark, in the resorts, in Negril’s small town, and at seaside restaurants like Norma’s on the Beach, Cosmo’s Seafood Restaurant and Margaritaville.
Music and Dancing
Come evening, it’s easy to find great music. Visitors and locals get down to the sounds of live reggae bands at clubs long Norman Manley Boulevard or at beachfront bars such as Alfred’s Ocean Palace and The Jungle Night Club & Sports Bar.
Experiencing Nature
Negril’s offshore reefs and sea grottoes provide a colorful and pristine haven for a parade of sea life that can be explored on a glass-bottom boat, or while snorkeling or diving. Sea-kayaking along the cliffs and canoe trips through mangrove forests as well as mountain biking and horseback rides are among other active ways to explore Negril’s natural attractions. There’s also an 18-hole golf course just south of the town.
Animal Farm & Nature
Animal Farm and Nature Reserve offers tours to individuals or groups to view a wide range of exotic birds and animals as well as to learn about alternative energy with solar and bio-gas generating plants. There is also an extensive local herb garden, each plant is labeled with the use and their local and scientific names. The beautiful gardens and open spaces make for the ideal picnic ground and facilities are provided for out-door cooking. The highlight of the experience for most visitors is the thrill of hand-feeling birds in the walk-in aviary.

Blue Mountain Bus Trip In Jamaica
When you take this tour be aware the back seats get all the heavy bumps. This is a wonderful view of the blue mountain but sure is not like going up the Blue Mountains in Collingwood Ontario. If the roads might end up killing on the trip the roads are very poor and full of pot holes. The width is so narrow in spots the bus barely could make it up.
