SUP Andreas to the Kelp beds Solana Beach
On a Winter's Day.
In a deep and bright December.
We are alone.
Staring at the ocean, to the kelp below
It freshly growing and its quite a show.
I am a rock...
A winter's day
In a deep and dark December;
I am alone,
Gazing from my window to the streets below
On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow.
I am a rock,
I am an island.

You are paddleboarding next to 15 great white sharks! - CA police warn beachgoers
California paddleboarders found themselves in what resembled an outtake from 'Jaws' when the chilling announcement was made that they were just metres from a school of around 15 great white sharks.
In helicopter footage taken by Orange County Sheriff's Department, the creatures' forms, which the aircraft's occupants observe are 10 feet (3 meters) long, could be seen through the clear water just off the California coastline.
A loudspeaker announcement could be heard coming from the helicopter saying that the area is heavily populated at the moment with large great white sharks and that the creatures have come as close as the surf line.
The paddleboarders are then advised to exit the water in a calm manner.

Incredible moment a young gray whale sneaks up on a group of unsuspecting surfers in California
Order Turmeric Curcumin Plus: Incredible moment a young gray whale sneaks up on a group of unsuspecting surfers in California. A group of surfers got the surprise when a young gray whale sneaked up on them near a California beach shore.
The moment was captured on November 11 by Payton Landaas, an 18-year-old from Dana Point, who started taking videos with his drone for his website Stealth Photos.
He told The Orange County Register that he was watching the waves from a bluff near his home in Capo Beach when he saw a 'poof' in the water that turned out to be a whale spout.
'I ran and got my drone and flew it out there. Then it ventured out to Doheny…it was just cruising. I lost it a couple times, it dove down pretty deep,' Landaas said.
In the video, the swimming whale made its way through Doheny State Beach where around two dozen surfers wait for waves near a rocky jetty called Boneyards.
Unbeknownst to the surfers, the curious whale was approaching them from behind as it stealthily swam along with beach's shoreline.
Suddenly, the friendly whale peeped its head out to quickly spout from its blowhole before diving back under.
The group of surfers don't appear to notice the massive mammal coming towards them until it's right under their feet.
One surfer got spooked by the easy moving whale and quickly paddled away.
Landaas, who was filming from a distance, wasn't able to warn the surfers of the oncoming whale.
He said: 'I thought it was pretty crazy.'
The whale makes it through the crowd without any incidents and continues on its journey.
Capt. Corey Hall of the Dana Wharf Sportfishing & Whale Watching told KTLA that gray whales are gentle wouldn't likely cause a fuss.
He said: 'Gray whales are pretty docile, known as the friendly whale, so they just kind of do their own thing.
Hall believes the whale is a juvenile, sized around 18-feet-long and looks
Day 1 - 120lb Halibut and 10 kings
Watch our first day of the 2014 Season as we catch a 120lb Halibut and 10 King salmon. What a great day of fishing! The group was great as well. Enjoy!!!
Morning Foil Session, San Onofre Glass.
Early morning glass. I wanted to see how the helmet cam would work. It's okay but it doesn’t really tell the story. Maybe if I tilt it up a bit more it would give a better sense of what foiling is like. I really want to keep the nose of the board in frame. This will be revisited soon. I have a better idea for next week.
This day was fantastic. Waves consistent 4' with 5' sets. The off shore winds made it a little difficult, but practicing white water take offs is perfect on days like today. Then as the wind turned it got really glassy for like a couple hours.
I use these videos as a training tool. Am I standing properly, am I leaning to far to the side, hunched over, and so on.
Also it might give a newer foiler or someone interested in foiling a look and feel, and the speed that can be achieved on a foil.
See you in the water!
