It was a great experience to see this Tibetan-style Buddhist monument and I had the chance to climb to the second level, but I wasn't going to follow that maniac who went right up to the Eyes (see middle part of video). Oh and in the first clip, meet my mate, Scott. ;)

For centuries, Boudhanath has been an important place of pilgrimage and meditation. In 1979, Boudha became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The ancient Buddhist stupa of is one of the largest in the world. Throughout the day pilgrims circumambulate the structure chanting mantras. One lap is approx. 150 meters.
Walk around the stupa clockwise and spin the prayer wheels clockwise.
People walk three or more times while repeating the mantra quietly or aloud, as a daily ritual.
Walk around Boudha Stupa, a daily ritual in Boudhanath Nepal.

Buddhist & Hindu Temples in Kathmandu valley, Nepal in HD
The four major Buddhist and Hindu temples in Kathmandu valley. All four are UNESCO World Heritage sites.
1. Swayambhunath is an ancient (about 5th century) Buddhist temple complex on a hill in Kathmandu . Also known as Monkey Temple.
2. Boudhanath stupa is one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world, the holiest Tibetan Buddhist temple outside Tibet.
3. Pashupatinath is an ancient Hindu temple in the Kathmandu valley (5th century), considered the most sacred Shiva temple.
4. Changu Narayan is a Hindu temple, possibly the oldest temple of Nepal (4th century).

EXPLORING the LARGEST NEPALESE STUPA of BOUDHANATH in KATHMANDU ????
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's visit Boudhanath which is a stupa in Kathmandu, Nepal. Located about 11 km (6.8 mi) from Kathmandu, the stupa's massive mandala makes it one of the largest spherical stupas in Nepal. It is one of the largest stupas in the world. The influx of large populations of refugees from Tibet has seen the construction of over 50 gompas (Tibetan convent) around Boudhanath. As of 1979, Boudhanath is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Stupa is on the ancient trade route from Tibet which enters the Kathmandu Valley by the village of Sankhu. Tibetan merchants have rested and offered prayers here for many centuries.
Nepal is a nation between India and Tibet known for its temples and Himalayan mountains, which include Mt. Everest. Kathmandu, the capital, has a mazelike old quarter filled with Hindu and Buddhist shrines. Around Kathmandu Valley are Swayambhunath, a Buddhist temple with resident monkeys; Boudhanath, a massive Buddhist stupa; Hindu temples and cremation grounds at Pashupatinath; and the medieval city of Bhaktapur.

The Buddhist stupa of Boudhanath dominates the skyline. The ancient Stupa is one of the largest in the world. The influx of large populations of refugees from Tibet has seen the construction of over 50 Tibetan Gompas (Monasteries) around Boudhanath. As of 1979, Boudhanath is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Along with Swayambhunath, it is one of the most popular tourist sites in the Kathmandu area.

Bouddhanath was probably built in the 14th century after the Mughal invasions; various interesting legends are told regarding the reasons for its construction. After the arrival of thousands of Tibetans following the 1959 Chinese invasion, the temple has become one of the most important centers of Tibetan Buddhism. Today it remains an important place of pilgrimage and meditation for Tibetan Buddhists and local Nepalis, as well as a popular tourist site.

Walking through Kathmandu to Boudhanath Stupa
Walking through Kathmandu in Nepal is an eye-opening experience. Exploring the crazy, busy streets packed with people, animals, shops, markets, bars and trekking shops. The cityscape only opened up for the highways and main roads. This walk to Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest spherical stupas in the world is an hour and a half filled with vibrant culture, noisy alley ways and intense Buddhist culture and belief. There surely isn’t a better way to explore Kathmandu than by trekking through the city on foot and tasting it for yourself. Allow me to take you on an incredible tour of this beautiful and ancient city.

Boudhanath Stupa // Kathmandu City || Nepal Travel Vlog
After our invigorating visit to Pokhara it was time to head back to Kathmandu! Instead of taking the drive back, we flew on Buddha Airlines to make the journey. Once we were back in Kathmandu City, I checked into the Hotel Tibet International's Tibetian Suite, where I was able to sleep like a baby!
The Hotel Tibet International is walking distance from the amazing Boudha (Boudhanath) Stupa, so after a quick nap, I headed over to circumambulate the stupa alongside thousands of others. The experience was one that I cannot accurately put into words.
Come along with me as I make my way from Pokhara to Kathmandu, explore my hotel, and renew my spirit at the Boudha Stupa!

An INTERESTING Walk to Boudhanath Stupa | Kathmandu, Nepal
We took a detour through some back roads of Kathmandu on the way to visit Boudhanath Stupa and found ourselves in the midst of a huge celebration on the river. The sights and sounds of this walk were unforgettable and at times, very intense. We made it to the stupa right before sunset to enjoy a ceremony by some Tibetan monks.

ONE DAY IN KATHMANDU (Durbar Square & Boudhanath Stupa) | Nepal Travel
We spent one day in Kathmandu doing some sightseeing. Our first stop was Durbar Square, which is sadly incredibly damaged by the massive 2015 earthquake, but still well worth a visit. Secondly, we went to Boudhanath Stupa which is SO impressive and beautiful. We stopped here for a drink in one of the many rooftop bars and enjoyed the view.
We had big plans to visit some more of the top sights in Kathmandu, but the weather had other plans, so we headed back to Thamel for a delicious dinner instead.
