Bach - Partite Diverse Sopra BWV 770 - Te Lindert | Netherlands Bach Society
Partite Diverse Sopra: Ach, was soll ich Sünder machen, performed by Elske te Lindert for All of Bach, is based on a chorale which opens with the words “Oh what should I, a sinner, do? Oh where should I begin?” Bach shows no sign of such doubts, in a musical sense at any rate. He begins with a relatively simple harmonisation of the chorale melody (partita 1), and he also knows how to continue. It is followed by a series of 9 variations (partitas 2 – 10).

Bach - Canzona in D minor BWV 588 - Schouten | Netherlands Bach Society
The Canzona in D minor, performed by Dorien Schouten for All of Bach, was based on an archaic style of composing. With the eruption of the Baroque in sixteenth-century Italy, composers became more interested in instrumental music. The main genre was the canzona, a solo or ensemble work in various movements, which evoked a whole range of moods. Bach followed the archetype in detail, which became a work that almost appears to be an exercise.

Schouten on Bach Fugue in G minor BWV 578 | Netherlands Bach Society
This piece was new to me, but it's one of Bach's better fugues. Organist Dorien Schouten talks about the 'Little' Fugue in G minor, which she performed for All of Bach. This short piece has a surprisingly long theme.

Bach - Little Fugue in G minor BWV 578 - Schouten | Netherlands Bach Society
The 'Little' Fugue in G minor, performed by Dorien Schouten for All of Bach, is found in many copies from Bach’s day. Around 100 years after his death, it was published no fewer than four times in rapid succession. Bach’s pupil Johann Georg Schübler thought the theme was so successful that he made a fugue out of it himself. So it was an immensely popular piece. It is not surprising, as the music is bursting with enjoyment. It conjures up a picture of Bach writing enthusiastically and enjoying his own theme while composing. It’s as though he can’t get enough of it, as it is a relatively long time before the second entrance appears.

Boven- of St. Nicolaaskerk Kampen the Netherlands
The Ball (also called St. Nicholas ' Church) in the Dutch city of Kampen is a large, Gothic cross basilica and also the most striking element in the cityscape of camps. Also prominent Camps are buried in the Church, including the painter Hendrick Avercamp and, although no Kampenaar of birth, the listed clocks watering Geert van Wou. In the transept is a small ornament of red marble with a green marble urn in memory of Vice Admiral Jan Willem de Winter (1761-1812). The urn contains the heart of Winter. His body is interred in the Panthéon, the only Dutchman, in Paris. One of the prepared grave monuments in the choir aisle was created in memory of Rutger van Breda († 1693) with his wife Joanna Aymery († 1703).
In the upper Church are three organs. The Hinsz organ, a choir organ and a positive organ. The organist of the organs in the Bovenkerk, on behalf of the reformed church, Ab Weegenaar

St.Patrick´s Cathedral - Live in the Bovenkerk (Kampen/Netherlands)
To start the video activities regarding my music, I decided to present you one of my favourite Instrumentals :
St.Patrick´s Cathedral, written by Mr.John Sheahan, Fiddle and Tin Whistle genius of the legendary Irish Folk Music Group ``The Dubliners``,
he´s also composing instrumental pieces and known for writing poems,
this one was written about the Dublin Saint Patrick´s Cathedral, a medieval church, he tried to catch the Atmosphere of the Church
I visited the Bovenkerk with a friend of mine, Matthias Dichter, he recorded my instrumental performance, and he made a few sways with camera to give you an impression of this lovely church, which really still got this medieval taste (though the church is protestant since the reformation^^).
John Sheahan plays this on Violin, and then on tin whistle, as I just had my whistle with me I gave it a go on my Overton Soprano D purely. Condense water isn´t nice during performance ,that caused some very small sound mistakes.
Bach - Trio in D minor BWV 583 - Schouten | Netherlands Bach Society
Does the Trio in D minor, performed by Dorien Schouten for All of Bach, contain a hidden chorale? In one manuscript, it is simply called Trio a 2 Clav. e Pedal, another referred to it as a Choral Vorspiel auf der Orgel. But even the most devoted listener scratches his head, wondering which chorale is involved. A melody is nowhere to be found in the long notes, and there is not much to go on in the rest either. Maybe one copyist just made a mistake, and this trio is not a chorale arrangement at all.

Tekst
1 Love divine, all loves excelling,
joy of heaven, to earth come down,
fix in us thy humble dwelling,
all thy faithful mercies crown.
Jesus, thou art all compassion,
pure, unbounded love thou art;
visit us with thy salvation;
enter every trembling heart.
2 Come, Almighty, to deliver,
let us all thy life receive;
suddenly return, and never,
nevermore thy temples leave.
Thee we would be always blessing,
serve thee as thy hosts above,
pray and praise thee without ceasing,
glory in thy perfect love.
3 Finish, then, thy new creation;
pure and spotless let us be;
let us see thy great salvation
perfectly restored in thee:
changed from glory into glory,
till in heaven we take our place,
till we cast our crowns before thee,
lost in wonder, love and praise.
Doen Daphne (...)- Hinsz Organ - St. Nicolaaskerk (Bovenkerk), Kampen, NL- Camphuysen Manuscript
Gilberto Guarino plays Doen Daphne d´over schoone Maeght... - When Daphne, the most beautiful maiden.... Anonymous fromt the 17th Century
Hauptwerk 4. Sample Set by Milan Digital Audio.
Hinsz Organ - St. Nicolaaskerk (Bovenkerk), Kampen, The Netherlands.
The variations on Doen Daphne d´over schoone Maeght are the last piece of music in the so called Camphuysen Manuscript, from the library of the late Hans Brandts, Hilversum, The Netherlands.
The manuscript was not written by Camphuysen, but the tunes associated to the devotional poems by the former's Stichtelycke Rymen inspired the name of the manuscript instead.
It's authorship is unknown, and Daphne is by far considered the best piece of music in the small collection, dating back to two or three decades after the death of the poet, in 1627.
It has been admitted that its composer may have been a follower of Sweelinck's, maybe from the Heinrich Scheidemann generation.
Daphne has nothing to do with the other settings of the book, generally treated as mediocre productions.
THE ORGAN. In spite of its equal temperament (which allows to play the 2nd Bovenwerk (romantic)), the Hinsz Organ in St. Nicolaaskerk (Bovenkerk), Kampen, The Netherlands, provides the adequate reverberation that enhances the naïve beauty of the variations, producing a certain peculiar tenderness, quite adequate to popular tunes coming from the Renaissance.
