Fine Art TV Series - Colour In Your Life
Season - 09
Episode - 09
Filmed on Location at - Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Julie works in the area of traditional media but does a lot of experimenting in the area of mixed media, while she is probably best known for watercolours. She likes to describe herself best as a realist impressionist and doesn’t like to be governed by one style, medium or subject. Watercolours are wet into wet technique.
“Art is an addiction for me that never wanes; I hope to be able to enjoy painting and exhibiting for the rest of my life. As I travel around I realise that there wont be enough years to paint all the scenes I see in this life time. I will have to be reincarnated for a few lifetimes, I am sure of that.”
You have to be passionate and self critical about painting when you’re putting yourself on show. The love and magic of creating a new artwork lives in the soul, and in my case consumes every part of me plus every minute I can spare. Then when I do get an opportunity I go off on another plein air painting trip, or another workshop to learn something new. As life is an eternal learning journey and my inspiration is born out of all the beauty of this world and not the ugly as we see portrayed in so many artworks these days.” — Julie Goldspink

Fine Art TV Series - Colour In Your Life
Season - 08
Episode - 06
Filmed on Location at - Melbourne, VIC, Australia
Born in 1939, Barbara has enjoyed a long and successful career pursuing her first love – painting, with a particular skill for pastel work.
Although guided and influenced by several well-known Australian Artists, she is basically self-taught. Her expertise has developed over four decades, and although retired from teaching these days, she was an established and well-respected teacher in both oils and pastels for many years.
To Barbara, painting is a passion, and sharing her gift is important to her. She demonstrates her techniques at Art Societies and Rotary Art shows throughout Victoria, and over the years has judged many of these events. As well, she has won many awards that have gained her much recognition throughout her career.
Barbara paints mainly in pastels and oils these days, but she is also noted for her work in gouache and sometimes watercolour. Through these media, she has captured with true colour and clarity of vision, and her love of the Australian countryside. Her dynamic yet restful paintings are full of freshness, energy and movement, inviting all to share her enthusiasm and insights into the nature of things.
