The Mars Project, Broken Hill Regional Gallery, 12th Oct - 24th Nov, 2013
The Mars Project is an exhibition of artworks which use the theme of space and science to explore the contemporary Australian landscape by artist Adam Norton. The exhibition features selected works from the last ten years as well as the new video installation work 'The Mars Project', which is the result of a residency in Broken Hill in 2012. The Artist & Curator in Residence Grant Program is supported by the Copyright Agency Limited's Cultural Fund, and is managed by Museums and Galleries NSW.

As a counterpoint to the wonderful Miners’ Memorial that sits atop the Line of Lode, this work re frames our relationship to the tribulations and tragedies of mining and overturns that perspective to celebrate life instead.
This celebration of life consists of over 800 local identities that have called Broken Hill home and helped shape its vibrancy, energy and soul, and this residence reflects the beating heart of the town itself: its people.
Cheffries Eats & Meats will be on site, serving up freshly made, slow cooked tacos and Bar facilities will be available.
