Williamsburg Plantation Resort - Williamsburg, Virginia
Overview
Surrounded by historical sites, the Williamsburg Plantation resort is just minutes from Colonial Williamsburg, the Jamestown Settlement, Busch Gardens and hundreds of years of Americana. You're invited to spend your days strolling the cobblestoned streets of Colonial Williamsburg and enjoying a vacation that indeed takes you back in time. Save time, however, to enjoy the resort itself!
Relaxing Atmosphere
Modeled after an antebellum plantation, the resort's clubhouse features indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a host of other amenities designed to enrich your stay in one of America's original 13 colonies. The colonial American charm of Williamsburg Plantation makes it the perfect spot for a family vacation.
Historic Area
Wondering what you'll do and see in Williamsburg? If you're into history, you'll be in good company! Known as America's Colonial Capital, history abounds in Williamsburg. Colonial Williamsburg, a living history museum, depicts the life and times of Colonial America. At nearby Jamestown Settlement, the story of America's first permanent English settlement (13 years before the Pilgrims landed in Massachusetts) and the Virginia Indians they encountered is told through film, gallery exhibits and living history. Fast forward to the Revolutionary War with a visit to historic Yorktown. In October, 1781, the Siege of Yorktown culminated with the British surrender to American and French forces under George Washington's command ending the six-year Revolutionary War and setting the stage for a new government and nation. Who said history can't be fun? And when in Yorktown, don't miss a visit to the Riverwalk area where you can walk on the beach, visit their antique and specialty shops and experience unique dining opportunities.

No matter what your holiday decorating style is, there are plenty of universally-beloved ways to make your Christmas tree come to life—and we're sharing them all with you right here. From elegant ribbon and DIY tree lights to homemade ornament crafts and tree toppers galore, these are the absolute best Christmas tree decorations out there. Truthfully, you don't need to go overboard to impress your guests this year. Many of the beautiful Christmas tree decorating ideas we're presenting here are inexpensive, easy to pull off, and simpl enough for your kids to help out with—and they work on both indoor and outdoor trees. And while red and green hues can certainly help set the stage for a merry Christmas celebration, you can still have a gorgeous display without being completely color-coordinated. A unique, candy-inspired palette featuring pastels and pinks is as feminine as it is festive, while white Christmas tree decor looks just as lovely (perhaps even more sophisticated) as the more vibrant colors you've come to know and love. Whatever look you choose, the purpose of all of our best ideas is to encourage you to think outside the box, have fun, and bring your family closer together. After all, that's what this holiday—and it's green centerpiece—is really about.
Busch Gardens Williamsburg
Busch Gardens Williamsburg (formerly known as Busch Gardens Europe and Busch Gardens: The Old Country) is a 383-acre (155 ha) theme park located in James City County, Virginia, about 3 miles (5 km) southeast of Williamsburg, originally developed by Anheuser-Busch (A-B) and currently owned by SeaWorld Entertainment, a division of Blackstone Group. The park opened on May 16, 1975, adjacent to Anheuser-Busch's brewery and near its other developments including the Kingsmill Resort complex. The park is themed around old-world Europe.
The park was originally called Busch Gardens: The Old Country, reflecting the European theme. In 1993, the park was renamed Busch Gardens Williamsburg before briefly being named Busch Gardens Europe in 2006 until it returned to the Williamsburg name in 2008. Similarly, its sister park in Florida was originally called Busch Gardens: The Dark Continent until it was officially renamed Busch Gardens Tampa Bay until a brief switch to Busch Gardens Africa from 2006 to 2008. In 2010, the estimated attendance of 2.8 million placed it in the top 20 most-visited parks in the US.
