Buttersville Park and Campground in Ludington Michigan offers primitive and electric hookup RV and tent camping in a county run park near the shores of Lake Michigan. The location is popular with locals and does allow seasonal guests to keep their units on site. The seasonal sites own the joint with many of the items seasonal guests acquire out for everyone to see include lines between trees, light strands, yard furniture and the like. Tent campers and small RVs can camp in other available electric or primitive sites; we do not advise larger RVs trying to squeeze in and out of the sites for short term stays. It is not worth the headache.
The park is set in a densely forested setting on a knoll overlooking the beaches of Lake Michigan. Staircases lead down to the beach and ocean waters. Some of the seasonal sites are located near the pretty overlook of the ocean.
Gravel roads and parking pads with dirt camping areas. the park has a number of bathrooms, a shower room, fresh water spigots and a small office. Kids have access to the old style playground equipment but will be much better served playing on the beach.
Located on a peninsula guests access the park by following back-roads that are paved but winding and narrow.

Cartier Park Campground in Ludington Michigan offers full hookup RV and tent camping in a city owned park. An easy to access park with paved roads and amix of gravel, dirt and grass sites. Tucked just off the highway and next to the cemetery (they call the sites closest primitive) and a lake the park has a mix of seasonal and short term sites. The campground is pretty with some sites, notably the rear-most small RV/ tent sites set in a state park feel area. A large playground area is available and the campground is a short distance from the bustling main street of Ludington. In addition a small boat launch is available just next to the park.
Restrooms with showers are available as is a small office. Cyclists can ride from here down into the state park and back. It is a short walk back down to main street and the city beaches (although a bit too far to walk with small kids).
Pull thru and backin options. Sites have picnic tables and fire rings.

Ludington State Park Campground in Ludington Michigan is comprised of scenic sand dunes, a shoreline vista, ponds, marshlands and forests. It is situated between Hamlin Lake and Lake Michigan with several miles of shoreline and beaches on both bodies of water. There are three partial and primitive (no water, electric, or sewer) hookup RV and tent campgrounds; Pines, Cedar and Beechwood. Paved roads and dirt or paved camping pads this popular campground is best suited to RVs under 35″ in length due to narrow roads and cramped access.
A popular summer destination advanced reservations are recommended as is the idea of entering here not expecting peace and solitude. Guests can enjoy the pretty sand beaches on Lake Michigan, tube on the river, hike in the woods, riding bikes on the paved multi-use trail or just enjoy the great outdoors. Located at the end of M 116 driving to the park is a pretty venture passing through scenic Ludington, along sandy dunes and eventually arriving at the state park.
Sites have picnic tables and fire rings. Water spigots are dispersed throughout the grounds. There are a few pull thrus available.

Poncho’s Pond RV Park Ludington Michigan MI - CampgroundViews.com

Poncho’s Pond RV Park in Ludington Michigan offers full hookup RV camping in a family friendly park. Paved roads and mostly concrete pads the large park contains hundreds of sites spread out off of a labyrinth of one way roads. Short term sites are mixed in with seasonal sites and owned sites. Backins and pull thrus are smartly angled to the road (necessary due to the narrow nature of the roads) allowing for easy entry and exit. The park can accommodate large RVs but advanced reservations are recommended as the location is relatively full during the summer months.
A small fishing pond is located onsite. Two outdoor pools are available and a hot tub (only the large pool is open to young children) and a decent sized indoor pool is available. A large playground is also available as are open areas for play near the pool. A small fitness center is located on site. Poncho’s Pond RV Park is located in an urban setting and is within walking distance of several restaurants, grocery stores, and the fairgrounds. It is a bit of a ways to downtown Ludington but this is the closest private RV park to the city center (not by much Vacation Station is about 2 blocks further east).
Sites have picnic tables and fire rings. There is decent spacing between sites and plenty of mowed grass and trees to add a nice ambiance to the location.
