Byron Stand Up Paddle
Stand Up Paddle (SUP) is one of the fastest growing sports in the world! We believe that is because it is fun, easy, low-impact and the best way to get out on the water. What better place to try Stand Up Paddle then Byron Bay!

The Hidden Gem of Australia's Coasts — Byron Bay, NSW, Australia | The Travel Intern
Australia is famous for its breathtaking coasts, and we all know the country is littered with beautiful beaches.
So this time, we got the chance to visit (we believe) one of Australia's greatest hidden coastal gems — Byron Bay! It also helps that our ultimate bae, Chris Hemsworth, stays here too. ;-)
If you're not convinced, check our 13 reasons why Byron Bay should be on EVERY New South Wales' itinerary:
00:31 - Brunswick River
STAND UP PADDLING! Unlike the open oceans, paddling along Brunswick River was calm, peaceful and it felt like we had the whole area to ourselves~
00:39 - Cook Island
Cook Island is FAMOUS for its snorkelling tours, and we hopped on one of 'em! We got to see not only turtles in their natural habitat, but also a leopard shark and tonnnnnes of lil fishies in the water :-)
00:53 - Tropical Fruit World
Think of it as a fruit theme park — you get to go through tours around the large compound and you'll be blown away by the sheer amount of fruits they grow in there. ****Be sure to try the MIRACLE FRUIT, and the ice-cream they sell at the store :-)
01:11 - Mavis's Kitchen
Most of what they serve come from their garden just out the back from their restaurant. Super fresh, super yummy!
01:18 - Catch a Crab
Tweed Heads is not too far from the main city of Byron Bay, and their crabbing adventure tours are really famous too! We had such a good time learning how to catch crabs, yabbies and fishes~ THANK YOU CATCH A CRAB!!
01:37 - Cape Byron Lighthouse
YOU GET DIBS ON CATCHING THE SUNRISE FIRST IN AUSTRALIA!! Is that not a pull? Hahaha. Here at Australia's most easterly point, you get to catch the sunrise, and if you're feelin' a lil indulgent, treat yourself and a friend/partner to the Toast the Sun experience!
01:51 - Air T&G Helicopters
It was always a dream to get on a helicopter, even more so an OPEN-DOOR helicopter ride! There are a couple of different packages which include different routes and timings at Air T&G. One package even allows you to PILOT the helicopter — no kidding.
02:08 - Main Beach (GO SEA KAYAKS)
We've gone on and on about the beautiful beaches, so here we are, kayaking through the open ocean in search for sea turtles and dolphins! Hopefully the waters aren't too choppy when you're out there. Some of us had motion sickness while kayaking hahaha.
02:18 - The Farm
02:30 - Three Blue Ducks
One thing about Australia and Byron Bay, specifically, is the fact that it is so self-sustaining! Here at The Farm, we got to tour around and learnt more about the local produce sitch in Australia. Super inspiring.
Three Blue Ducks is within the compounds of The Farm, but they are always super crowded so do try to go during off-peak hours.
02:34 - Stone & Wood Brewery
If you observe, almost every bar or restaurant boasts the logo of Stone & Wood. They are also part of the local produce gang gang in Byron Bay, and they actually serve up some experimental beers that are limited edition on a rotational basis!
02:43 - Crystal Castle
Ultimate zen place. Learn about meditation, about crystals and everything about zen here~
02:55 - Main Beach (LET'S GO SURFING)
You'd better surf at one of Australia's surfing capitals! Try booking the sunrise surf with the beautiful warm orange glow embracing you as you make ~moves~ on the ~waves~.
03:09 - Byron Farmers Market
Only open on Thursdays from 8AM to 11AM.
We really recommend The Nomadic Kitchen!! They serve up some really interesting dishes, and they also move around the different farmers markets around the area.
03:17 - Husk Distillers
OOOOOOOO SIS YOU GOTS TO TRY THEIR INK GIN TONIC! 'Nuff said. Pretty purple colour, nice for your social media handles too. Hahaha.
03:27 - Zephyr Horses
The perfect way to end the day — Zephyr Horses' Forest to Beach Sunset Tour. We got to ride through a really mystical forest trail that led us out to the open beach with nobody around except us and the horsies~
03:38 - Harvest Newrybar
Just take a short drive out of Byron Bay and you'll reach Newrybar village. Harvest boasts a restaurant, bakery, deli and garden all in one compound.
03:48 - Zentveld's Coffee
The owner of this coffee plantation was self-taught — she learnt about brewing, harvesting and everything coffee-related by herself! We really enjoyed the experience of walking through the plantation, looking at how the brewing and harvesting process is like and getting to taste it. Yeet.
Have we convinced you guys to make a trip down yet??!?!?! We hope so! Because we'd surely visit again. :-)

10' x 35 Big Paradise SUP by Blue Planet: a compact, stable, user friendly Stand Up Paddleboard
10'0 x 35 x 4.4 x 199L Big Paradise – Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP)
New for 2020, the Big Paradise packs a lot of stability and volume into a relatively compact board that is easy to transport and store. At 35 wide and 199L in volume, it is stable enough for those that struggle with balance or are heavier and taller. Designed for beginner and intermediate paddlers that don't want a longer board and don't want to struggle on a small, narrow board. The Big Paradise is a very versatile board that will grow with you as you advance, it's a great board for cruising, surfing, paddling with a partner or pet, SUP yoga and whatever else you can think of. Everyone who has tried it was surprised how lively, smooth, and fun this board feels despite its dimensions. Try one for yourself and Find Paradise!

The Big Paradise is part of the Cruiser Series:
The Cruiser Series was designed for SUP riders looking to do predominantly recreational paddling with the ability for beginner/intermediate surfing. These are our most effective boards with stability and ease of use in mind.
The Cruiser models feature wide bellies and fuller rails to optimize stability. The fuller outlines of the Cruiser models increase surface area contact with the water, making them some of the friendliest boards to paddle on. Full noses allow for increased stability and hang-5/hang-10 performance in the surf. Whether you’re looking to get started, do mostly recreational paddling, get your SUP yoga on, or just have fun with the ohana, the Cruiser Series is a great place to help get your feet wet.
Available dimensions: 9’6x31x160L Big Neptune, 10’0x35x199L Big Paradise, 10’2x32x179L Easy, 10’6x34x170L Multi Tasker, 10’8x36x235L Boss, 11’2x40x300L Da Ohana

Surf Byron Bay
Living on the Gold coast has some perks. Being and hour away from Byron Bay is definitely one of them. We visit Byron Bay quite a bit because it has such a nice chill atmosphere and good surf. Its a small town with a lot of character. You'll occasionally see dolphins or if your lucky like us, you'll get to surf with them! Unfortunately my camera battery died when that happened. But we go back a lot so hopefully I can get a shot of it happening again.
I try to make travel videos that are engaging and enjoyable to watch. If you have any tips or suggestions, please feel free to let me know down below!

Paddle Boarding with Wild Dolphins in Byron Bay
After seeing wild dolphins from shore during my week in Byron Bay I attempted to go out and meet them on a paddle board. Didn't think it would actually happen, but it did! Although the footage is shaky with a smudge on the lens this is the only proof of this experience.
