CAT CAFÉ PRAGUE
Prague Filmmaker Haruna Honcoop created this video short for us. The video was shown as part of CatVideoFest on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, highlighting a unique aspect of modern life in Prague.
Cat Lovers Restaurant & Brewery-U Dvou Koček (At Two Cats)-Praha
This video shows the inside of U Dvou Koček (At Two Cats) brewery pub and restaurant in Praha (Prague). It is a good place for cat lovers and those who like cats or at least don't mind cats and those who are indifferent to them. There are a lot of cat images in this place. Watch the video only if you fit in the above mentioned groups. There are images of cats in the form of paintings on the doors, murals with cats and cat statues. No live cats. There is also a salon called Kočičí Salonek (Cat Salon) as you'll see.
If you just care about the brewery, the beer containers where the beer is made are shown in this video too. The beer brewed at U Dvou Koček is called Kočka (Cat) and there are three kinds of Kočka (Cat) beer being brewed here: Světlá Kočka (Light Cat), Polotmavá Kočka (Medium Dark Cat) and Tmavá Kočka (Dark Cat).
In addition to the Kočka beer brewed right here and served from the tap, there is also Pilsner Urquell beer available from the tap. The price of all the beers is the same, about 38 Kč (Czech crowns) or just under 2 dollars per beer.
The food is very reasonably priced, starting from about 99 Kč (Czech crowns) or about 5 dollars.
U Dvou Koček (At Two Cats) is near the center of Prague and it has been established in 1678.
Enjoy.
P.S.
U Dvou Koček (At Two Cats) is a must stop for cat lovers because of the cat images inside. it's among the very few restaurants and pubs in the world with so many cat images and decorations.

Great European Road Trip - Part 1: Czech Republic, Germany & Austria
Great European Road Trip - Part 1: Czech Republic, Germany & Austria
Few trips are on more travellers bucket lists than a European road trip, and with good reason! Getting lost in the tiny towns and through the stunning nature of these amazing countries is the experience of a lifetime!
Great European Road Trip: The Plan!
Half the fun of going on a European road trip is planning one and we spent months and months staring at huge maps of Europe trying to plot our perfect route through the most beautiful countries, cities and nature we could find. The only problem, as you’ll soon find out, is that there is simply way too much to see and never enough time to see it all, so you’ve got to plan smart.
We’re huge road trip fans, so when it came to planning our Great European Road Trip we had a handful of countries that we knew no European road trip was complete without, including Germany, Austria and Italy - but we also wanted to add some new ones we’d never been to.
We’ve always loved Prague but always found ourselves walking around the same parts of the old city every time we visited and never getting out to explore the rest of the country. No road trip is complete without a car, and so Prague became our starting point and the spot where we launched off after picking up our trusty car, which Anne named Roger, and heading all through the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovenia and Croatia - a journey through six countries, over twenty-three days and over 3,100km.
Great European Road Trip: The Rental Car!
Anne and I have been lucky to travel to over 40 countries together in the last five years, but until last June when we did our “Great American Road Trip” we hadn’t ever done a proper road trip together, and sadly just stayed close in to the city center areas or spent a day on a tour without getting out into the countryside to explore more.
Picking the right rental car is key, because if you travel like we do you’ll pretty much live in it. We’ve been Hertz Gold Plus Rewards members for years now and the perks of the membership simply make it a no brainer. Not only do we get the pick any car we want, but you can get access to the Hertz Connect device with wifi, phone calls and city guides as well as adding a second driver for free and earning Emirates Skywards Miles.
As with any traveling, it is the small things, perks, extras and benefits which add up to make all the difference, and this is one of them.
Anne picked a beautiful rust colored SUV, named him Roger and off we went to start our 23-day adventure!
Great European Road Trip: Czech Republic
Heading out of Prague was simple enough with our navigation and we knew what our first stop would end up being: to get a cooler! A quick stop at the local Czech shopping mall and Lidl, and we were packed with groceries, a full cooler and were heading north to czech out (see what I did there) the Sedlec Ossuari, a literal church made of bones.
According to history, so many people wanted to be buried on this site that starting in the 15th Century they ran out of space in the cemetery and simply started to use the human skeletal bones to build the church - which now contains the remains of between 40,000-70,000 individuals. Nice start to a romantic European road trip, huh?
If you have followed us for awhile you’ll know we rarely plan anything out at all, even where we’re staying at night. Anne managed to find the most random place we’ve ever slept tucked deep in the Czech countryside where a woman had renovated a horse trailer on her farm and listed it on AirBnb for $18/night - sold!
After a peaceful and quiet night we awoke to horses, goats, sheep, cats and one judgemental llama. Quick stop in the eco toilet and a breakfast from our cooler we were off to visit the Bohemian Switzerland National Park, a beautiful forest which is ironically on the border with Germany and the Czech Republic, nowhere near Switzerland.
Operation “Less Fat Jeff” was in full effect as we set off on the first hike of our Great European Road Trip through a stunning forest - the actual filming location for Narnia - and made our way up to the top to the largest sandstone arch in Europe, which isn’t as impressive as the hike itself, but well worth doing the hike.
Great European Road Trip: The Cooler & The Backpack!
Now, if you’ve followed us on our travels for very long you’ll know were hobo travellers and don’t much care to be fancy or spend a lot of money, so we always buy as much food as we can at any market or grocery store and pack...

Eastern Europe Trip : Part 1: Prague, Czech Republic

Our trip to Eastern Europe in August 2018 was indeed a memorable one.
Here is part 1, three days in Prague, Czech Republic.
Four days in prague, Czech Republic - Get inspired
Finally a city of the east europe that missed in my travel list: PRAGUE!
Me and my two friends during our Easter break have decided to spend four days away from the routine of every day in this beautiful city.
As always we have appraised all the offers and we have opted for an easyjet flight and, among all the hostels, our choice has reverted on the downtown hostel in which we found a pleasant environment, great and clean rooms with a beautiful sight and where we have met so many amazing friends.
We have quietly visited the city in this way:
1) the first day we have walked for the streets of the old town and along the charles bridge. We have also seen the dancing house and walked on the shores of the river. In the evening we have opted for something calm because of the trip and we have chosen one of the typical Czech cafes for a beer (chep and so good).
2) the second day we have started with a walking free tour that has told us some places and important monuments that we could visit later and also some curiosities and information. In the afternoon we have gone to visit the castle of prague and the underlying district (mala strana) where you can find the wall of jhon lennon (not to lose!). In the evening, after a healthy vapiano pizza, we have spent the night in the common room of the hostel with some new friend.
3) the third day we have decided to visit the Jewish district, that the guide of the free waking tour showed us, in the morning (with an only ticket the synagogues, the memorial and the cemetery can be all visited except the synagogue in Jerusalem that is found near the station and it has a different ticket). In the afternoon we have made a trip out in a city near prague:kutna hora. This small city is very beautiful, typical and with two spectacular cathedrals (ossario of sedlec and holy Barbaric), it is worth of it.
4) The last day we have decided to get lost in this beautiful city with a walk between its beauties without a destination. We have also returned to the castle to admire the panorama with the sun.
Praga is a beautiful, interesting and ancient city with a vampire vein, typical of the cities of the east in my opinion. I hope to return there one day, even for another university break and even in the summer! .

Prague Czech Republic / Walk the most famous touristic route
The most famous touristic route you must take during your holiday in the Prague Czech Republic.
Our walk started at Malostranské Náměstí where you can visit St.Nicholas Church and see one of the beautiful examples of Baroque architecture. From this square, walk through the narrow streets of Lesser Town (Malá Strana) and climb the stairs to the Prague Castle. Don't forget to take pictures of this location. For more information about Prague Castle, visit
We chose another direction and head to the most famous bridge in Prague. The sculptures and the history of Charles Bridge (Karlův Most) are spectacular. Every day thousands of people cross over Charles Bridge. It is full of energy and life. Don't rush and take your time. Listen to the street musicians, have a look at the art of photographers, painters and cartoonists.
The Charles Bridge links Lesser Town (Malá Strana) and Old Town (Staré Mesto). When you follow Karlovo Street, on your way you'll find many souvenir shops, restaurants, hotels, patisseries and the smell of Trdelník will catch you. By the way, it's not 100% Czech dessert.
When you reach Old Town Square (Staroměstské Náměstí) you'll see the crowd in front of the Astronomical Clock (Pražský Orloj). Get the best place to watch the twelve figures of the Apostles and details of the clock operating for more than 600 years. Next to the Astronomical Clock is the old town hall.
Old Town Square has an outstanding atmosphere. What you can find here? Tyn Church, St.Nicholas Church, Jan Hus Monument and Kinský Palace and many other picturesque buildings.
Take Celetná Street, known as the Royal Route. Don't miss Black Madonna on your right just before the Powder Tower (Prašná brána). You can climb to this tower for an unforgettable sunset in Prague.
Just next to the Powder Tower is the Municipal House. This Art Nouveau building will take your breath away.
Our journey ended at Republic Square (Náměstí Republiky). There are shopping centres (Kotva and Palladium) nearby. You can enjoy the street markets in this square.
