Places to see in ( Hemsby - UK )
Hemsby is a village, civil parish and seaside resort in the English county of Norfolk. Hemsby is situated some 7.5 mi north of the town of Great Yarmouth. Hemsby borders the villages of Winterton-on-Sea and Scratby. For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the district of Great Yarmouth.
A Norfolk county map dated around 1610 shows a headland, called Winterton Ness, extending into the sea north-east of Hemsby. This headland has now almost entirely disappeared through coastal erosion. Hemsby along with much of the Norfolk coast was targeted by the Vikings, who initially raided the area in search of precious materials and slaves.
Hemsby's dunes are also being eroded, previously the wide beach has made the effect less noticeable, but the rate of erosion has increased significantly in the past two years, threatening homes, the local lifeboat station and the villages tourist industry. In 2013 a campaign was started to 'save hemsby beach': 'DIY' Sea defences are being built in attempt to stem the erosion.
Hemsby is split into two parts: Hemsby Village and Hemsby Beach. Hemsby Village is mainly the residential area located about a mile inland. Kingsway is an area of the village which includes a SPAR shop, hairdressers and Chinese restaurant. This is also the main location for buses into Great Yarmouth and Martham. St Mary the Virgin Church was built in the 12th century and is a landmark in the village.
The tourist-based part of the village lies along Beach Road and is commonly known as Hemsby Beach. It features funfairs, crazy golf courses and children's rides. The beach end of the road has cafes, shops and amusement arcades, while at the upper end are houses and accommodation parks, consisting mainly of chalets and caravans. The largest of the accommodation parks was a branch of Pontins, but this closed suddenly in January 2009 after a review from Pontins new owners Ocean Parks.
Hemsby was once served by Hemsby railway station which was located on the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway between Great Yarmouth (Beach) and Melton Constable. It closed in 1959. Currently Hemsby is served by two First Norfolk & Suffolk bus services, the 1 and 3. The 3 serves Hemsby Beach and the 1 serves the village. Both stop at the Kingsway bus stop.
( Hemsby - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Hemsby . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Hemsby - UK

Why Norfolk clifftop homes are falling into the sea and who is to blame | ITV News
Thirteen homes on top of a cliff at Hemsby near Great Yarmouth in Norfolk are at risk of crashing into the sea after two 'Beast from the East' weather events speeded up coastal erosion in the area.
Local residents are calling for more government funding to provide better sea defences. The Environment Agency says the local authority Great Yarmouth Borough Council is responsible for coastal protection but the council says it can't afford it and is that it does not have a statutory duty to protect land it doesn't own.
The Environment Agency says this part of the Norfolk coast is subject to 'managed re-alignment' which it defines as 'allowing the shoreline to move naturally, but managing the process to direct it in certain areas.

Video Game Arcade Tours - Sands Amusements (Hemsby, UK)
It's a GIANT redemption fest. Didn't see one video game. They have 2p machines, crane games, gamblers and redemption.

Many of the arcades in the UK (Mainly seaside arcades) are called Amusement Arcades. They are typically packed with redemption-based machines with very few video games (As video games simply do not make money). I have placed the word Amusements in the title for these types of places as they are not true Video Game Arcades, but deserve some sort of mention. As gambling is legal in the UK, they tend to include fruit machines (aka slot machines) and various other things money-making games, so video games really take a back seat in places like these. They also really hate filming, I'm not sure why because it's free advertising, unless dodgy things are taking place lol
An amusement arcade (often referred to as video arcade or simply arcade) is a venue where people play arcade games such as video games, pinball machines, electro-mechanical games, redemption games, merchandisers (such as claw cranes), or coin-operated billiards or air hockey tables. In some countries, some types of arcades are also legally permitted to provide gambling machines such as slot machines or pachinko machines. Games are usually housed in cabinets. The term used for ancestors of these venues in the beginning of the 20th century was penny arcades.Video games were introduced in amusement arcades in the late 1970s and were most popular during the golden age of arcade video games, the early 1980s. Arcades became popular with children and particularly adolescents, which led parents to be concerned that video game playing might cause them to skip school.

The community being washed away by coastal erosion | ITV News
A once thriving community is being washed into the sea, forcing residents to pack up and move in land.
Land around Withernsea, around 20 miles east of Hull, is slowly being scraped away by the waves and the wind.
Where there was once a caravan site and fields with cherished memories now sits a steep cliff buffered by the North Sea.
Withernsea isn't the only place in Britain affected by nature, the Environment Agency has warned at least £1billion needs to be spent on an annual basis to cover the cost of protecting Britain's towns and cities from flooding and coastal erosion.

Hemsby & Newport, Norfolk, England September 2015
A short video tour of Hemsby and Newport, Norfolk England.
As a kid I was taken here by my parents every year from early 70s till 83. I had some of the greatest times of my life here. I can safely say this was the only time I was truly happy as a kid. The place has not changed that much really, except the arcades now rip you off with those pathetic prize voucher things.
Hemsby and Newport will always hold a special place in my heart.
I go back for 1 day a year each year to see how the place is doing. I always take my camera and snap away. My main focus is the beach at Hemsby, It is so different now. When I was a kid there were 3 huge dune systems between the sea and Beach Rd (I used to get lost in them) now there is less than half a dune!!!
I expect that in my lifetime the last bit will go and the sea will wash up onto Beach Rd.
