How to Get to Camara + Capones Island:
To get to Capones and Camara Islands, you must take an outrigger (philippine fishing boat) from Barangay Pundaquit in San Antonio. You can travel to Pundaquit by taxi or bus. When you arrive at the bus drop-off in town, you can take a tricycle to Barangay Pundaquit. Note: Taking a private car may reduce your travel time by half an hour.
The boat ride from Pundaquit out to Capones Island is around 20-30 minutes depending on how choppy the water is. Camara Island is only a few minutes South of Capones Island.
Note:
The islands are small and uninhabited. Don’t expect resorts or even restrooms. Be prepared for a rustic experience and enjoy all the surrounding beauty.

Camara Island - Pundaquit, Zambales [HQ]
Found some video clips of our Anawangin Trip last August 2009. Decided to make a short music video out of it with photos from the same trip.
In this video: Camara Island in Pundaquit, Zambales - the sandbar, the rockies, sand, sun, beach and of course my dearest friends! Enjoy! :)

Wanderful: Punta de Uian and Pundaquit Beach
San Antonio, Zambales | Philippines
OCTOBER 30, 2008—This is a #Throwback slideshow video.
We went to visit Pundaquit beach in San Antonio, Zambales via Punta de Uian for Nanay Linda's birthday in 2008. We really wanted to check out Punta de Uian because it had gained some fame back then after it was featured in a number of episodes in the hit prime time TV drama, Marimar. We also wanted to take the opportunity to visit the tourist-popular islands off Pundaquit, particularly Capones island and its historical Spanish-era lighthouse.
We had some mixed feelings about this family outing. All in all we still managed to make the best of it but there had been a number of disappointments and hiccups.
First of all, we were quite disappointed with Punta de Uian. We were (still are) of the opinion that it is over rated. We found their customer service quite wanting, too. They practically had no activities to offer their guests except their swimming pool (which was quite ordinary) and the beach. And then they offered us island hopping for an exorbitant price but we found out that they just pass on their customers to local boatsmen nearby without providing any value add (not even life vests). We were quite disappointed enough that I actually ranted about it in my erstwhile blog (A Wonderful Blog).
Please note that these are our own personal observations and opinions (collective personal observations and opinions as a family, that is), and may not be shared by others. For all we know, ours might have been an isolated experience. It was also quite some time ago and for all we know it conditions in the resort might have improved a lot already.
Also, during our island hopping, just as we were getting off the boat at Camara Island we had a n unfortunate accident. I dropped our only working digital camera (this was before smartphones) into the beach. Being not a waterproof device it dies instantly and so we basically had no photos of our time in Camara Island, which was actually quite a pleasant one (the saving grace of the entire trip actually).
Finally, when we left Camara Island and headed for Capones, which was our primary objective for the island hopping activity, we had to abort because the waves were too strong. The boats being rented out along Pundaquit Beach are too small to withstand the occasional strong waves in the area and we happened to be in one such bad occasion. They also did not have life vests! Again, this was quite some time ago and I hope that by this time there are already safer ways to enjoy island hopping in Pundaquit.
This is a short slideshow video presentation of our photos during our visit to Punta de Uian and Pundaquit Beach. Enjoy watching.

Camara, Capones Islands & Agnaem Cove Zambales
Today we go island hopping around zambales islands, camara & capones aswell as agnaem cove.
Camara island is known for its rock formations and also has a sand bar that you can walk to another island during low tide. Unfortunatly we did not make low tide so the sand bar was not visible, although we could still walk to the island. As most places in the philippines the water is a night bright blue with green and very clear. There are some beaches that look beautiful but we are not sure if it is safe to walk through the water to get there.
Next stop was capones, the best of the islands around zambales for pristine sand and pristine green water. If beaches are what your after then capones is the island for you it really is beautiful. From the drone you get to see its true beauty and the bright water colour. Also there was only around 4 people on the island which made it even better.
Last of all we visited agnaem cove which is very similar to anawangin and nagsasa coves so expect pristine sands and water but with the quietness and isolation of silanguin cove.
Take plenty of water with you on this trip as you cannot buy water on the islands unless you stop off at nagsasa or anawangin cove instead of agnaem.
