Pundaquit Beach - Zambales Philippines
Today is our 1st full hot sunny beach day in pundaquit zambales, once again the Philippines does not disappoint.
pundaquit is a tiny town in the province of zambales in central luzon. Pundaquit seems like its a up and coming area with a few resorts now being built. The area is charming and feels like a really nice small community here with the locals and few tourists mixing, you get a sense of relaxation and calmness and chilled vibes.
Pundaquit beach is beautiful with a insane backdrop of the mountains which make for great photos. The sand is really nice with a hint of grey in from when the mountain erupted in 1991. The beach is very very clean to, its literally picture perfect as many beaches are in the Philippines.
The ocean is a little more blue here than the crystal clear water we have come to expect but its ok, a short boat ride to anawangan nagsasa or silanguin cove will give you the crystal clear water you will be hoping for.
Zambales so far has set a high bar for what to expect from this province and we are looking forward to finding more of what zambales has to offer.

Punta de Uian and Pundaquit Beach | San Antonio, Zambales | Philippines | We.Are.Wanderful
Wanderful: Punta de Uian and Pundaquit Beach
San Antonio, Zambales | Philippines
OCTOBER 30, 2008—This is a #Throwback slideshow video.
We went to visit Pundaquit beach in San Antonio, Zambales via Punta de Uian for Nanay Linda's birthday in 2008. We really wanted to check out Punta de Uian because it had gained some fame back then after it was featured in a number of episodes in the hit prime time TV drama, Marimar. We also wanted to take the opportunity to visit the tourist-popular islands off Pundaquit, particularly Capones island and its historical Spanish-era lighthouse.
We had some mixed feelings about this family outing. All in all we still managed to make the best of it but there had been a number of disappointments and hiccups.
First of all, we were quite disappointed with Punta de Uian. We were (still are) of the opinion that it is over rated. We found their customer service quite wanting, too. They practically had no activities to offer their guests except their swimming pool (which was quite ordinary) and the beach. And then they offered us island hopping for an exorbitant price but we found out that they just pass on their customers to local boatsmen nearby without providing any value add (not even life vests). We were quite disappointed enough that I actually ranted about it in my erstwhile blog (A Wonderful Blog).
Please note that these are our own personal observations and opinions (collective personal observations and opinions as a family, that is), and may not be shared by others. For all we know, ours might have been an isolated experience. It was also quite some time ago and for all we know it conditions in the resort might have improved a lot already.
Also, during our island hopping, just as we were getting off the boat at Camara Island we had a n unfortunate accident. I dropped our only working digital camera (this was before smartphones) into the beach. Being not a waterproof device it dies instantly and so we basically had no photos of our time in Camara Island, which was actually quite a pleasant one (the saving grace of the entire trip actually).
Finally, when we left Camara Island and headed for Capones, which was our primary objective for the island hopping activity, we had to abort because the waves were too strong. The boats being rented out along Pundaquit Beach are too small to withstand the occasional strong waves in the area and we happened to be in one such bad occasion. They also did not have life vests! Again, this was quite some time ago and I hope that by this time there are already safer ways to enjoy island hopping in Pundaquit.
This is a short slideshow video presentation of our photos during our visit to Punta de Uian and Pundaquit Beach. Enjoy watching.

Some Facts About Me as a Traveler:
* I prefer rolling luggages over backpacks
* If I can go to city with just my sandals for footwear, I would prefer that because that would mean I don’t have to carry socks with me.
* I always bring power extension cords whenever I travel.
* I always have problems sticking to my budget when I’m traveling.
* The worst thing that happened to me while traveling so far was when I was held by the immigration officers in Paris. I made a mistake in my visa application and I actually overstayed in France. But all is well, they did let me go. And they were very nice to me. They even offered me cookies.
