This morning I picked up my travel partner for the week at Calgary International Airport & we began our journey to Canmore, Alberta. So much beautiful scenery in Canmore & Banff National Park, but we chose to spend the afternoon on the Bow River.
It is going to be quite the adventure, but entirely worth the drive. Stick around & enjoy the scenery as we explore the Canadian Rocky Mountains, Banff National Park, Stanley Park, Othello Tunnels & more!

Canmore Adventures: Hiking Squaw's Tit
Despite its politically incorrect name, Squaw’s Tit is one of the best hikes in the Canmore area. The route to the top of the tit takes you through dense forest, up a beautiful creek bed and along a narrow ridge with a shear drop off to the valley below. The climax of the hike is an exciting scramble to the top of the “nipple”.

Canmore, Alberta ???? | Surrounded by mountains
#canmore #alberta #igtv
Headed out to Alberta for some training shows. My week was jam packed with work again but we managed to head up to the mountains once for dinner. Here in Canmore is where I found a small argument for IGTV since the town is surrounded by mountains but I still prefer to consume my video in widescreen.

Middle Sister - Canmore Hike (HD) - Explore Alberta Canada
Here is my trip report of the Middle Sister hike in #Canmore. There's not much for current videos out there other than the odd summit Pano. I've held off doing this one for a couple years because there were many conflicting reports about where to start, accessing the trailhead, construction, 2013 floods trail alteration, etc. Hopefully with my descriptions this will help you find your way. Much easier to find the trailhead than I thought it would be. The construction is always changing the landscape by the golf course so access may vary a bit but if you go where we went, getting there is a breeze as the golf course isn't going anywhere. There is no scrambling involved really other than some boulder hopping in the gully / creekbed. Lots of scree though and a long approach. 12 of 13 people this day made the summit. A big group indeed! #thenorthface @thenorthface #keencanada #keen #keenfootwear

Grotto Canyon Hike and Pictographs - Best Easy Hike near Canmore ?
Had an awesome time exploring Grotto Canyon near Canmore, Alberta in the Rocky Mountains. Myself and the family found this hike to be very rewarding. We got to see a red fox, beautiful landscape and some pictographs. It felt very special to find the pictographs left by first peoples hundreds of years ago, and to imagine them standing exactly where we were standing, what did they look like ? How did they survive in this area ? The hike took us about 2 hours going slowly and walking on slippery freezing rocks.
More info on the trail / hike :
Très belle randonné près de Canmore en Alberta dans les montagnes rocheuses. Cette trail nous apporte au creux d'un canyon et on y trouve de anciens pictographes.

Banff to Canmore rafting trip
On August 13th 2015, 5 bobsled and skeleton athletes (past and present) from Canada and Australia decided it would be an unforgettable trip to raft from Banff to Canmore through the Alberta rocky mountains on the Bow river. The 5 athletes (plus one dog) who have a combined resume of over 30 years on the national team, multiple world cup medals, 3 Olympic Games and 8 World Championship appearances set off on a rafting trip to help clear their minds before another grueling season on tour.
It was a great trip with lots of laughs, stories shared, a few hiccups, a lost paddle, a capsize, lost sunglasses a found paddle and one dog that just loves being on the water.
We hope you enjoy the video.

Hiking In Alberta - Ha Ling Peak in the Canadian Rockies - Canmore, Alberta
In this video, we show a fairly simple, although strenuous, hike up to Ha Ling Peak in the Canadian Rockies around Canmore, Alberta. It’s rated as difficult, but if you’re in decent shape, you should be fine. The views from the top are simply stunning. This hike is free and is not within the national park system so no park pass is needed.
Hiking in Alberta is one of the best things to do in Alberta. That's because it's home to the Canadian Rockies, which includes both Banff National Park and Jasper National Park. However, this hike is around Canmore, Alberta, which is just outside the national park (about 15 minutes from Banff). It's called Kananaskis country and it's somewhat of a local secret. Not this hike but the Kananaskis in general.
