Canoeing The Grand River on Canada DAY!
Ynnoj and I decided to Canoe the Grand River that runs through Ontario Canada. We Started in Elora Ontario and we finished in Cambridge Ontario.
If I had to guess how far this trip was I would guess 30 kms total. But who knows. We had a tonne of fun and that's all the matters.

Grand River Canoe Woolner Flats to Freeport, Kitchener Canada
Woolner Flats, a meander on the 290 km Grand River, was once home to the Neutral Peoples until their 1653 defeat in the Beaver Wars. It was later settled by Pennsylvania Mennonites Jakob Kolb (1829) and Peter Reesor (1830). First bridged in 1820, the Freeport ford includes rail (1880) and road (1926) bridges. The Fairway Road bridge opened in 2012. O, Shenandoah performed by Philip Aaberg, accompanies the riverscapes, fauna and forest images, bookended with philosophical quotes about life by Osho.

Went out with the family for a Thanksgiving Monday Canoe trip on the Grand River. We did Breslau to Freeport which is approximately 10km. A good beginners route or for families. Good Times.

Perfect for families or couples doing what Canadians do.
Tips: A great place for novices or beginners. The water is extremely shallow, no worries if you have children or cannot swim. You paddle with the current, the breeze is nice and there were no bugs at the beginning or end of August. You have options for routes, a 1-1.5hr or 2-2.5hrs for beginners/novices. No rapids. If you can, recommend to time your trip a day or so after a rainfall, otherwise the river gets really shallow at points and difficult to paddle.

An annual canoe trip covering over 250 kms over seven days to raise funds for tree planting and naturalization efforts through the GRCA.
Derek Lippert and JP Bartle (of the landscape firm Quiet Nature Ltd.) paddle the entire length of the Grand River from start to finish, from its humble beginnings north of Grand Valley to the waves of Lake Erie at Port Maitland. By providing a 'source to mouth' insight into the river, Derek and JP hope to increase awareness of watershed-wide environmental issues and tourism potential while raising funds for the Grand River

Grand River Canoe Trip: Canoeing The Grand From Brantford To Dunnville
A 3 day canoe/camp trip down the Grand River. We canoed from Brantford to Byng Island Conservation area near Dunnville Ontario. The whole canoe trip was about 71 KM.

Lots of great products! On this trip we used the sawyer water filter, bug sprap and sunscreen. All performed amazing in extreme summer conditions.
