We visited this beautiful lighthouse which is the most eastern part of Australia during our road trip from Sydney to Gold Coast.
From the M1 highway, you need to get inside Cape Byron for about 10 kms and park somewhere after the beach because in busy days or specially in public holidays it gets very busy and you wont find a parking spot on top. The beach on the way, inside Cape Byron is also very beautiful.
We had to park and walk about 1.2 kms uphill, not very tough though, and fortunately we were able to get some wider shots for this video. The view from top is stunning rather than the lighthouse itself. There is a good canteen where you can get some refreshments and also an information centre where you will find history of this lighthouse.

Byron Bay Lighthouse Australia - Starlight to Sunrise
Byron Bay on the most easterly point of mainland Australia is the first place to see the sun rise on mainland Australia. So I thought I’d attempt to capture a night to day time-lapse from the Cape Byron Lighthouse at Byron Bay in Australia. I started shooting the time-lapse at 3am looking towards the lighthouse, and then panned around towards the east to capture the sun rising.
For those interested in the tech side of it. It was shot on a Canon 6d, and the motion was controlled by two SYRP Genie Minis mounted on their pan-tilt bracket. The exposure from night to day was controlled manually via DSLR Dashboard on the iphone and then smoothed out with LRTimelapse.

Byron Bay is a beachside town located in the far-northeastern corner of the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is located 772 kilometres north of Sydney and 165 kilometres south of Brisbane.
The local Arakwal Aboriginal people's name for the area is Cavvanbah, meaning meeting place.[2] Lieutenant James Cook named Cape Byron after Royal Navy officer John Byron, circumnavigator of the world and grandfather of the poet Lord Byron.
The Cape Byron Lighthouse was built in 1901 at the most easterly point on the Australian mainland.
Cape Byron, a headland adjacent to the town, is the easternmost point of mainland Australia.
Longboard surfers arrived in the 1960s and used natural breaks at The Pass, Watego's, and Cosy Corner. This was the beginning of Byron Bay as a travellers' destination.
As at 2018, the town is cited as having around 5,000 permanent residents, while being visited by over 1.5 million tourists each year.Its reputation as a hippy, happy, alternative town was established.
