Mystical Magic In The Byron Bay Hinterland
Nestled in the Hinterland is a property that exudes sacredness and seclusion. A mystical retreat with captivating views over meandering creeks and rainforests, a property with a very real presence and charm that cannot be expressed in words; you need to experience this first hand.
Set on over 16 acres of lush park-like grounds, this lifestyle property embraces a main residence with aesthetic Eastern and European influences. There is a separate guest house and beautiful parents retreat connected by a meandering timber walkway, plus there is a fabulous art studio, workshop, storage space, double carport and garage. Various secluded areas provide for relaxation, meditation and are surrounded by an abundance of nature. Wild ducks, moorhens and water dragons frolic amongst the water lilies on the ‘Monet’-like lake.
Designed around an octagonal living room with spectacular cupola, all the other rooms connect to it. An Asian influence in the main home is present with intricate details and timber doors. In addition there are stained glass windows, vaulted ceilings and brushbox timber floors giving a spiritual ambience and a greater sense of light and space. The 2 bedrooms, bathroom, mahogany kitchen and informal dining have been finished with South African slate tiling. Upstairs is a monastic light home office/reading room/third bedroom. There is an enclosed outdoor entertaining room. Double brick exterior walls offer natural insulation and a wood fire will keep you toasty throughout our winter months. Timber decks envelope the home providing a tantalising outlook over the countryside.
The land boasts rich volcanic soil giving this property a vast variety of options for the new owner. For those who love home grown produce, there is a veggie garden, chickens and an array of fruit trees. Situated close to Minyon Falls and Whian Whian State Forest there a numerous walking tracks and picnic areas to enjoy. The quaint hub of Dunoon Village is within a short 8km drive and has its own primary and preschools, local shop and a popular sports club. Lismore is a 20 minute drive away and Byron Bay and Ballina are both only a 40 minute scenic cruise.
A dream North Coast sanctuary for buyers looking for something special.
There are simply too many features to list here, we look forward to your enquiry and inspection.

Byron Bay Travel Guide - An Australian Magical Experience
Byron Bay Travel Guide - An Australian Magical Experience
Byron Bay is a coastal town in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales, located just off the Pacific Highway, approximately 800km north of Sydney and 175km south of Brisbane. Nearby Cape Byron is the easternmost point on the Australian mainland. Byron Bay is famed worldwide for its surfing beaches, scuba diving, whale watching, rural beauty and a laidback lifestyle. It is one of Australia's major tourist destinations, both for international and domestic tourists. Byron Bay and its surrounding area have a population of about 30,000. The area has experienced a dramatic increase in tourism now standing at more than 1.7 million visitors per year.
The community of Suffolk Park lies a five minute drive south of Byron, along Tallows Beach. It offers a quieter alternative to the heart of Byron, but for most services you will find yourself making the trip into Byron. The towns of Bangalow and Nimbin lie inland, under an hour's drive away. Lennox Head and Ballina are to the south. There are many thriving home-based businesses focussed on alternative, holistic, cultural and knowledge industries, with a growing population of artists, writers and film makers.
There is limited regular public transport within Byron Bay, operated by Blanch's Bus Company - however most destinations within the bay are walkable, including The Lighthouse Walk. The Byron Shire Council has installed parking ticket machines, with the fee being $2 per hour.
Byron Bay is a well established destination for backpackers, schoolies, families and couples, and there are choice of accommodation styles catering to all of them. Most local real estate agents handle holiday house rentals, and there are many in the beach areas, and even further into suburban Byron. Some bed-and-breakfasts have been created by building additions to once suburban Byron houses.
Festivals held in or near Byron Bay include the East Coast Blues & Roots Music Festival at Tyagarah at Easter, Falls Festival NYE and Splendour in the Grass, the Byron Bay International Fashion Festival on 29 April each year, the Byron Bay Writers Festival, the Byron Bay Film Festival, Byron Bay Surf Festival, Byron Spirit Festival and the Byron Underwater Festival. The Byron Bay Triathlon is held on the second Saturday in May every year; 1,300 competitors from many countries enter this Olympic Distance event. The vibrant musical community has produced internationally renowned bands such as Blue King Brown, Parkway Drive and 50 Lions.
The town is a resort popular with both domestic and international tourists, not the least backpackers. It has several beaches that are popular for surfing and the scenery attracts skydivers. An oceanway allows visitors to walk and cycle from the centre of town to Cape Byron Lighthouse.
The area is noted for its wildlife, with whale watching a significant contributor to the local economy. Temperate and tropical waters merge here, making it a popular place for scuba diving and snorkelling. Most diving is done at Julian Rocks, 2.5 kilometres from the town and part of the Cape Byron Marine Park. Subtropical rainforests are nearby, and areas such as the Nightcap National Park and its Minyon Falls are within easy reach of the town. Byron Bay is a popular destination for Schoolies week during late November and early December.

Heading down to Tallow Beach (Dolphins as local surfers know it) in Byron Bay, Australia
Just finished a huge move to the great Land Down Under to go to school at SAE Byron Bay. I'm loving the fact that I live a mere 4 min walk to this beach path :)
The Hidden Gem of Australia's Coasts — Byron Bay, NSW, Australia | The Travel Intern
Australia is famous for its breathtaking coasts, and we all know the country is littered with beautiful beaches.
So this time, we got the chance to visit (we believe) one of Australia's greatest hidden coastal gems — Byron Bay! It also helps that our ultimate bae, Chris Hemsworth, stays here too. ;-)
If you're not convinced, check our 13 reasons why Byron Bay should be on EVERY New South Wales' itinerary:
00:31 - Brunswick River
STAND UP PADDLING! Unlike the open oceans, paddling along Brunswick River was calm, peaceful and it felt like we had the whole area to ourselves~
00:39 - Cook Island
Cook Island is FAMOUS for its snorkelling tours, and we hopped on one of 'em! We got to see not only turtles in their natural habitat, but also a leopard shark and tonnnnnes of lil fishies in the water :-)
00:53 - Tropical Fruit World
Think of it as a fruit theme park — you get to go through tours around the large compound and you'll be blown away by the sheer amount of fruits they grow in there. ****Be sure to try the MIRACLE FRUIT, and the ice-cream they sell at the store :-)
01:11 - Mavis's Kitchen
Most of what they serve come from their garden just out the back from their restaurant. Super fresh, super yummy!
01:18 - Catch a Crab
Tweed Heads is not too far from the main city of Byron Bay, and their crabbing adventure tours are really famous too! We had such a good time learning how to catch crabs, yabbies and fishes~ THANK YOU CATCH A CRAB!!
01:37 - Cape Byron Lighthouse
YOU GET DIBS ON CATCHING THE SUNRISE FIRST IN AUSTRALIA!! Is that not a pull? Hahaha. Here at Australia's most easterly point, you get to catch the sunrise, and if you're feelin' a lil indulgent, treat yourself and a friend/partner to the Toast the Sun experience!
01:51 - Air T&G Helicopters
It was always a dream to get on a helicopter, even more so an OPEN-DOOR helicopter ride! There are a couple of different packages which include different routes and timings at Air T&G. One package even allows you to PILOT the helicopter — no kidding.
02:08 - Main Beach (GO SEA KAYAKS)
We've gone on and on about the beautiful beaches, so here we are, kayaking through the open ocean in search for sea turtles and dolphins! Hopefully the waters aren't too choppy when you're out there. Some of us had motion sickness while kayaking hahaha.
02:18 - The Farm
02:30 - Three Blue Ducks
One thing about Australia and Byron Bay, specifically, is the fact that it is so self-sustaining! Here at The Farm, we got to tour around and learnt more about the local produce sitch in Australia. Super inspiring.
Three Blue Ducks is within the compounds of The Farm, but they are always super crowded so do try to go during off-peak hours.
02:34 - Stone & Wood Brewery
If you observe, almost every bar or restaurant boasts the logo of Stone & Wood. They are also part of the local produce gang gang in Byron Bay, and they actually serve up some experimental beers that are limited edition on a rotational basis!
02:43 - Crystal Castle
Ultimate zen place. Learn about meditation, about crystals and everything about zen here~
02:55 - Main Beach (LET'S GO SURFING)
You'd better surf at one of Australia's surfing capitals! Try booking the sunrise surf with the beautiful warm orange glow embracing you as you make ~moves~ on the ~waves~.
03:09 - Byron Farmers Market
Only open on Thursdays from 8AM to 11AM.
We really recommend The Nomadic Kitchen!! They serve up some really interesting dishes, and they also move around the different farmers markets around the area.
03:17 - Husk Distillers
OOOOOOOO SIS YOU GOTS TO TRY THEIR INK GIN TONIC! 'Nuff said. Pretty purple colour, nice for your social media handles too. Hahaha.
03:27 - Zephyr Horses
The perfect way to end the day — Zephyr Horses' Forest to Beach Sunset Tour. We got to ride through a really mystical forest trail that led us out to the open beach with nobody around except us and the horsies~
03:38 - Harvest Newrybar
Just take a short drive out of Byron Bay and you'll reach Newrybar village. Harvest boasts a restaurant, bakery, deli and garden all in one compound.
03:48 - Zentveld's Coffee
The owner of this coffee plantation was self-taught — she learnt about brewing, harvesting and everything coffee-related by herself! We really enjoyed the experience of walking through the plantation, looking at how the brewing and harvesting process is like and getting to taste it. Yeet.
Have we convinced you guys to make a trip down yet??!?!?! We hope so! Because we'd surely visit again. :-)
