What to do in Ibusuki, Kagoshima, Japan- Nagasakibana Park
So in this video, we show you our trip to Ibusuki. We caught the train from Kagoshima and once to Ibusuki station, we caught the bus to Cape Nagasakibana (where you can also visit Ryugu Shrine) and then we walked (a very short walk) to Nagasakibana Park.
Our daughter loved Nagasakibana Park because she was able to hold a parrot, feed lemurs, touch ducks, guinea pigs and swans, as well as feed the goats. She saw a pony for the first time and that was exciting for her. We were able to catch the Flamingo show and the Parrot Show. We missed the rat show, that is something I would have liked to see.
Anyway, the lady at the entrance said that it is possible to get 200 yen off of our tickets by visiting their website, so instead of paying 2,400 yen for two adults, we ended up paying 2,000 yen. Yay!

Kagoshima 2015 [005] Cape Nagasakibana | 鹿児島 長崎鼻
Cape Nagasakibana (長崎鼻) is most southernmost tip of Satsuma Peninsula. (薩摩半島)
These coastline made of old lava stones, traveller can walk here.
Kagoshima in Kyushu
Kagoshima is the southern tip of Kyushu Island with dynamic nature represented by Mt.Sakurajima Island. Places of visit include the sand-bath beach at Ibusuki, Satsuma-kiriko workshop, Cape Nagasakibana, Lake Ikeda, Satsuma-age factory, Kirishima Shrine, Sengen-En, a honeymoon site of Ryoma Sakamoto, Shirokuma at Tenmonkan, and so forth. Plus the unique Outdoor Bath scenes at the hotels.
4K 薩摩長崎鼻灯台 Nagasakihana lighthouse, Kagoshima Kyushu JAPAN
The cape is located the southernmost tip of the Satsuma Peninsula, Kagoshima.
The lighthouse is not very big. But the view of the coast and the mount Kaimon breathtaking.
Ryugu Shrine 龍宮神社 is located at Nagasakihana 長﨑鼻. Nagasakihana is said to be the birthplace of The Legend of Urashima Taro who saved a turtle, it took him to Ryugu-jo, the Palace of the Dragon 竜宮城. Sea turtles come to lay eggs on the beach near this place, and local people love them as the protective god of the sea.
This shrine is becoming popular as a power spot of matchmaking and good fortune in love.
There are shells in a big pot. It is said that if you write your wish on a shell and dedicate it, your wish will be granted.
However, the view from this landscape as well as the view of the opposite coast of the Osumi Peninsula is worth a visit.

I am standing at the southern coast of Kyushu Island, Japan.
This place is located at Ibusuki City, which is famous for beautiful natures and interesting hot bath.

Kagoshima (Kinko) Bay
I am standing southern entrance of Kagoshima (Kinko) Bay. The entrance faces East China Ocean.
Kinko Bay is located at the south of Kyushu Island. The bay is used to be a big crater of ATA volcano. Now the bay is surrounded by Satsuma Peninsula (West) and Osumi Peninsula (East)
Mt.Sakurajima almost everyday at the middle of the bay.
Cape Sata (Southern Tip of Kyushu)
You can see the most southern tip of the Kyushu Island on the LEFT side of the video. The cape is called SATA.
The cape is a park and you can walk to the southern tip. The ocean view from the cape is just BREATHTAKING!
You had to pay money to reach the cape in the past, but it became free of charge recently. Lucky!
Nagasaki-Bana
You can see the southern tip of Satsuma Peninsula on the RIGHT side of the video.
The place is called is Nagasaki-Bana. (Bana means Cape in Japanese). The place is known as the north limit of natural Cycas revoluta (very spiky unique plant)
There are many tropical flowers and plants at the park. Surrounding area is very good for driving a car and enjoy riding a bike! For your information, you can rent a bike at Nishioyama Station and come to Nagasaki-Bana by a bike.
There is also the most southern JR train station Nishioyama Station near the Nagasaki-Bana.

A day in Kagoshima
In southern-most Japan lies a port named Kagoshima, which is a bit sooty because of an active volcano on one side of the harbor. Our visit to Kagoshima lasted only a day but the impressions are of longer duration. Here are treats for your eyes: a lovely Japanese garden, beautiful cut-glass (a specialty of this place) and some glimpses of the Sakorajima volcano itself. Condition #3 prevails, which means the volcano is not safe to walk on, so we view it from a distance.
