EP. 4 SAILING IN TASMANIA - Hobart, A Wall Of Vaginas, Cape Raoul And Port Arthur
Impi is a catamaran sailing around the world.
In this episode we are sailing in Tasmania where our daughter Jenna flies in to join us.
We show you some of Hobart
We visit the famous Mona Museum where locals speak of the 'Wall Of Vagina's'
We sail around the STUNNINGLY AMAZING Cape Raoul with its awe inspiring rock column formations and
We sail into Historic Port Arthur where in recent years a tragic and sad situation happened. We are not keen to share too much of the cowardly act, however one cannot visit Port Arthur without mentioning the 'day the devil visited Port Arthur'. Our sincere sympathies to those who lost loved ones.
At the end of the video, we share some of the recent (as in we filmed the footage TODAY) activities in the animal welfare program and we establish a new Go Fund Me Account for the next program on these remote islands so, if this touches your heart, please do visit that link:
GoFundMe Link for animal welfare:

These hikes are so good! Cape Raoul to Bay of Fires. Ep.42
The Cape Raoul trek - 3 and half hour return hike but the views were worth every step????! We then headed to the Remarkable cave for a look, as well as stopping into the Tasman Arch and Tessellated Pavement. All beautiful natural wonders located down on that southern peninsular area. ☀️
We then decided to trek up the east coast to meet back up with Kurt's family for the night. They were camped at the pondering frog's, ????so as we made our way up to them, we stopped into the Spiky Bridge for a photo. The plan was to go sight see freyicent national park area, but the weather was pretty ordinary???? that following day. With easter fast approaching, we all decided to shoot up to the Bay of fires to nab a spot before the easter rush.
We arrived just after midday, at swimcart beach and were surprised with how many spots were still free. We nestled ourselves into what we thought was the best available spot ⛺️????and breathed a sigh of relief. We'd gotten ourselves a great spot to spend easter week right near the beach. Kurt's sister and her family got a spot just 50m up from us, which was great! ???????? The next day, our new friends the Roving Russo's also nabbed a spot which was great.
We spent a good week here relaxing, soaking up the sun☀️, some fishing and exploring the surrounds. We ventured out to St Columbus falls, north to Blue Tier and to the top of bay of fires to see the lighthouse. We also did a day trip back down to Freyicent National Park to climb Mount Amos⛰ and checked out the weekend markets in St Helens. During this week we also discovered our gearbox issue.☹️
For some reason the gearstick would stick in 3rd gear and not release until fully stopped / no load. Very bizarre, we know????????♂️. We knew we couldn't do much as the public holidays were in full swing, so alot more chill time was had at camp. Kurt was very happy as it turns out swim-cart beach is a great fishing spot????. Lots of salmon were caught throughout the week which made for some delicious meals.
It was sad to leave swim-cart after a great week????????♀️, but we really need to focus on sorting this gearbox issue out and making it back to the mainland!

Cape Raoul, Tasmania Part 1
Drone Video of Cape Raoul, Tasmania in EXTREMELY high winds.
This is Part 1 of 2 showing the good footage. There were high wings above the cliff... no winds below, making it almost impossible to safely land.
Part 2 which shows the landing attempt can be found at
Port Arthur, Tasmania
Recorded January 5, 2007. The video begins on the boat as we sail from Hobart to Port Arthur. We pass the Ironpot Lighthouse and the beautiful sea cliffs of Cape Raoul. We also see wildlife on the way, shearwater birds and fur seals. Then we arrive at Port Arthur.
Port Arthur is a small town and former convict settlement on the Tasman Peninsula, in Tasmania, Australia. Port Arthur is one of Australia's most significant heritage areas and the open air museum is officially Tasmania's top tourist attraction. Known for its harsh conditions, dark history and stark beauty, it is located approximately 60 km south east of the state capital, Hobart. In 1996 it was the scene of the worst mass murder event in Australian history.

Cape Raoul Run
Day 4 of 4 part 2:
We continue from the prison of Port Arthur, and only about 10 km away you will find the astonishing hike of Cape Raoul. I did it as a trail run, even if it´s very steep at some parts. But I loved it so much!! It took me under 2 hours to run the 14km long trail, down to the peninsula and back up again.
After this we returned back to Hobart for the night, and the next day we flue out to Sydney in the evening.
Thank you all for watching my 5 episode series of Tasmania!
Stay safe! :)

Skyflowers.Tv [012] - Sailing to Port Arthur, Tasmania
Port Arthur, Tasmania is one of Australia's most notorious convict prisons which operated in the 1800's. Today, it is amazing to think that I could go on a leisure cruise and wander around the site as a free man.
How times change.
Includes footage of 2 boats, Rambler and the restored wreck, James Craig. Both boats were on show in the Australian Wooden Boat Festival held in Hobart in 2017.
Hiking Guide - Cape Hauy, Tasmania
Tasmania has much to offer nature lovers of all kinds. The Cape Hauy Hike in Tasman National Park shows off some of the most beautiful coastline in all of Australia. How is this a Prison? its Beautiful! Geeveston to Port Arthur. Ep.41
From Cockle creek we made our way back up to Geeveston to setup camp, as we really wanted to climb the nearby ???? Mt Hartz Peak ! The following day the weather was perfect (no rain, just sunshine!) so we took off early up the mountain. The first third of the walk is along a timber boardwalk and you go past 2 beautiful lakes. The boardwalk then disappears and you start to hike up the mountain⛰. The last part is really steep and you have to scramble over rocks, so definitely need a level of fitness to complete.
We missed the Richmond area last time and wanted to go for a look, and see in particular the old bridge! Richmond, is home to the oldest working bridge in Australia! Crazy what the convicts built back in the day, and its still allowing cars???? over it.
Later that day we also visited the 'moo brew' brewery. Our friends Chris,Vee and Tilly’s had visited and told us it was a must do! For $15 per person, you get a tour around the brewery????and learn about the process, while tasting the beers throughout the tour. Don't worry, at most of these breweries Amz does most of the tastings, as Kurt mostly drives. On this occasion, the van was hitched and parked out the front. We did joke with our guide we'd sleep out the front, if we had to much to drink. ????
#Funfact: the brewery is actually owned by the same man who owns MONA. ????
At the end of the tour you also get a handful of takeaways, how good is that! [Tours only run on Friday's and you need to book online to secure a spot!] After the tour we headed off to Dunalley pub for the night. A great overnight spot before we headed to Port Arthur ⚖️the next day.
We got to the Port Arthur Historic Sites, nice and early, as our introductory walking tour????????????????♀️ was booked in for 9:30am. Plenty of parking space there for all types of vehicles, as we were still hitched with our van and had no problems finding a spot. After our walking tour, we did all the inside things and jumped on the ferry???? for our 20 minute harbour cruise. We then headed back to the van to grab lunch and grab Rusty!
Yep, thats right. You can walk around the grounds of Port Arthur with your dog????! They must be on a lead at all times and you can't go in any exhibits with them. It was great roaming the gardens and remainder of the site with Rusty. She really enjoyed it, even saying hello???????? to the resident chickens. We were quite happy with our full day at Port Arthur and headed to Nubeena RSL for the night. A great value low cost camp if your self contained. For $20 a night, you can use their toilets and showers???? while they're open, plus they give you a $10 bar credit!
