Ep.15 - Stoney Creek, Moes Rock and Cape St George Lighthouse in Booderee National Park
Hey guys, happy 2018 to all of you. I'm back from the summer holiday break here in Australia to bring you some more amazing experiences here in South Coast NSW. For episode 15 I headed back into Booderee, to the eastern fringes of this amazing national park, and explored Stoney Creek, Moes Rock and the Cape St George Historic Lighthouse. Thanks for checking out my little travel vlog and please remember to like, subscribe and share if it appealed to you. :)
You can find Stoney Creek, Moes Rock and Cape St George down Stoney Creek Road, off Wreck Bay Road in Booderee. There's an $11 park entry fee (good for 48 hours) or if you're local like me then buy the two year pass for $66. Camping's available at Cave Beach, Bristol Point and Green Patch but they're very popular campgrounds, even in the shoulder season, so book ahead.

Ep.16 - Steamers Beach - Booderee National Park
Down on the southern edge of the Booderee National Park is a jaw-droppingly rugged beach called Steamers. Framed by huge rocky headlands and backed by 130m dunes swept there by a massive tsunami 9,000 years ago, it's one of the most amazing beaches on the south coast of New South Wales. So, please join me as I show the place off and, if you enjoyed the video please hit those Like and Subscribe buttons. :)

Cape St Georges Lighthouse
St George Lighthouse 2b
The ruins of St George Lighthouse is located within the Booderee National Park, Jervis Bay, ACT.
The emblem for the park is the White Breasted Sea Eagle and we were lucky enough to have circling overhead during the whole of our visit.
The viewing platforms afford panoramic views of the rugged coastline.
There is also a plethera of Floura and Fauna to bee seen ranging from Banksias through the Black Snakes.
This location is well worth putting on your must visit list for your next NSW South Coast visit.
Hope you enjoy

Out through Tour de Garde on tape, limited to 100 copies:
This 4th demo of midnight music delves into the ill fated and cursed light house of Cape St George, which is located in Jervis Bay, NSW, Australia.
Constructed in 1860, it was active until 1889 and then destroyed in 1922.
The families and staff who resided in the lighthouse suffered from a series of tragic
events which loomed over them for as long as the lighthouse stood.
In 1867 the lighthouse keepers daughter Isabella Jane Lee, died from typhus fever.
In 1882 pleurisy took the life of 13 year old George Gibson.
Florence Baily also succumbed to typhoid in 1885.
In 1883 William Markham the assistant lightkeeper from 1878-1883 died after being kicked in the head by a horse, in the same year 9 year old Francis Henry Hammer, who was fond of pushing rocks off the top of the cliff, ended up falling to his death.
In July 1887, Harriet Parker, daughter of the Assistant light keepers, was accidentally shot dead in 1887 by Kate Gibson, the Chief Keeper's daughter. The jury of the ensuing Coronial inquiry stated that Harriet had died from a gunshot wound accidentally received, and that Kate Gibson was not to blame as they were skylarking....
Not long later within the same year, 1887, Kate Gibson was found with her throat slashed open from ear to ear. Kate’s death was ruled at the time a suicide...
In 1895, the father of Florence, Edward Bailey, the Chief Lighthouse Keeper, while fishing 3KMs south of the lighthouse was washed off the rocks, became entangled in his lines, drowned, and then was taken by sharks, all this happened as his son watched on.
Because of the poor positioning of the lighthouse, from 1864 to 1893 there were 23 ships wrecked on the South Coast of NSW in the vicinity of Jervis Bay.
After the commissioning of a new light, it was considered that the confusion of having two towers in close proximity to one another would be a hazardous to navigation in daylight, especially during foul weather. As a result, the Cape St George Tower was unceremoniously used from 1917 to 1922 for target practice by the Royal Australian Navy and destroyed.
And thus only remains the eerie ruins of the cursed lighthouse of Cape St George...

Australia - Point Perpendicular Lighthouse by Drone 4K
The Point Perpendicular Lighthouse was established in 1899 to replace the inaccurately placed Cape St George Lighthouse.
The Point Perpendicular Lighthouse is believed to be the first lighthouse in New South Wales to be built of concrete blocks, which were cast on the ground, then lifted into place.
Point Perpendicular is located on the south coast of New South Wales, Australia. The historic lighthouse and the spectacular eighty metre high sandstone cliffs make it one of the most recognisable landmarks along the east coast.
Point Perpendicular is a truly stunning place. The views of Jervis Bay are magnificent and the exposure combines with the sound of the ocean to create a unique atmosphere.
