Capones Island + Anawangin Cove ⎜Zambales⎜Island Hopping ⎜2018
Finally decided to go out of the Zambales mainland after years of visiting the province and it didn't disappoint!
Just 3 to 5 hours from Manila, you will reach the town proper of
San Antonio; a popular quick escape destination for most of us from Metro Manila. This town is known for Anawangin, Camara, Capones and Nagsasa islands. As much as I want to visit all in one day, I couldn't so we just chose the Capones + Anawangin Bundle
THE BOAT RIDE
A perfect alternative to the 5 hour mountain hike is the 30-45 minute boat ride from the small Pundaquit (Pundakit) sea side.
TIP: If you're bringing your own car, there are parking spaces available for a minimum fee of 100 pesos for day trips and 200 pesos overnight. Some resorts offer it for free for the guests.
Be kuripot and you will be rewarded.
Compared to popular island hopping packages, like the ones in Boracay or Palawan, the boats here are much smaller. Our 14-man group, that includes 3 children, hired the services of John Carlo. We got into 2 separate motorized boats and payed 250 pesos per person for the two destinations.
Considering its small built, expect a bumpy and wet yet thrilling boat ride across the island. Good thing they provide you with life jackets that is a must.
TIP: Bring your own jackets for that Feeling of Security. I'M SCARED OF THE WATERS so I always come prepared.
THE AWESOME CAPONES ISLAND
You can actually see the Capones Islands from Pundaquit Beach. As you move closer and closer, you would truly appreciate the unique beauty of every God's creation. It's Awesome, that's all I can say. I instantly fell in love with its beauty.
This wonder is approximately 2 kilometers long and composed mainly of huge rock formations and steep cliffs surrounded by white sand and coral beaches. From the other blogs, they say you can go up the top and see the light house which I already have in mind. However, our guide said that there was a previous accident which forbid tourists to do so. As much as I want to get a 360 view, ugh, I have no choice but to follow regulations. Disappointing, but the beach will surely make up for it!
TIP: Don't forget to wear your sunblock and bring something that will give you shade. It's like the sun is just a kilometer away from you by the time you arrive here. Me? I always bring my ever so handy umbrella. You can set up your tents too... And of course, avoid heat stroke and drink lots of water. No stores here, so make sure bring it with you.
THE BEAUTIFUL YET DISAPPOINTING ANAWANGIN COVE
From Capones, allot 30-45 minutes to reach this popular destination for campers. I read a lot of write-ups, watched vlogs and listened to people who have been here before. They say one thing... that it is beautiful so my expectations are high as the mountains.
I was welcomed by a toothpaste sachet floating in the beach. Hello people, how do you brush your teeth? Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the cove, the sand, the beach, the mountains, the pine trees and all.
They charge 70 pesos each as entrance free. If you don't have a tent and wish to go on a day tour like we do, you can rent a table good for 5 to 10 people for 100 pesos or maybe a cottage for 500 only.
Exploring the cove, I would generally describe it as a campers heaven. I see tents everywhere. It is really beautiful, the vibe is chill, and the cove really can provide you a relaxing mood.
(HERE WE GO) Truly, Anawangin id beautiful however, you can see trash everywhere! I saddens me to see a beautiful creation get destroyed by the people who devours and enjoys it. Before, (according to blogs), you bring your own trash bags and bring it with you when you leave the cove. Now, there are waste management installations in every corner. Why not use it people? Stop destroying Anawangin's natural beauty!
TIP: Go to Capones Island first to enjoy the beach and white sand and the head to Anawangin Cove to eat your packed lunch and just have a relaxing hour or two before you head back to Pundaquit. If your on a day tour like me, leave the cove at 1 o clock to avoid rough Zambales waters and the high tide.
FINAL WORDS
I definitely recommend this trip. Still, it is 100% Awesome for me!
The trip is cheap, 1,000 to 1,500 I enough for this adventure if you are coming from Manila. While I'm writing this, I'm actually planning to visit the other destinations within this area.

Camara, Capones Islands & Agnaem Cove Zambales
Today we go island hopping around zambales islands, camara & capones aswell as agnaem cove.
Camara island is known for its rock formations and also has a sand bar that you can walk to another island during low tide. Unfortunatly we did not make low tide so the sand bar was not visible, although we could still walk to the island. As most places in the philippines the water is a night bright blue with green and very clear. There are some beaches that look beautiful but we are not sure if it is safe to walk through the water to get there.
Next stop was capones, the best of the islands around zambales for pristine sand and pristine green water. If beaches are what your after then capones is the island for you it really is beautiful. From the drone you get to see its true beauty and the bright water colour. Also there was only around 4 people on the island which made it even better.
Last of all we visited agnaem cove which is very similar to anawangin and nagsasa coves so expect pristine sands and water but with the quietness and isolation of silanguin cove.
Take plenty of water with you on this trip as you cannot buy water on the islands unless you stop off at nagsasa or anawangin cove instead of agnaem.

CAPONES ISLAND AND NAGSASA COVE | HIDDEN PARADISE PART 1
GRABE SUPER SAYA NG TRAVEL VLOG NG VUPH FAMILY WATCH NYO PO MAG EENJOY KAYO
Nagsasa Cove in San Antonio, Zambales, used to be rocky until the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo, which dumped tons of volcanic ash in many parts of the region. Nagsasa Cove is endowed with the same features as Anawangin: a beach of ash that absorbs hear faster than the usual sand; a blanket of agoho trees, a type of casuarina tree, often mistaken for pine trees; the azure sea teeming with life and color; and gently sloping hills framing the view.
Tourists often come to Nagsasa Cove when there are too many of their kind in Anawangin. Well, if the word “overcrowded” bothers you, as is often the case with the latter, then Nagsasa Cove is the right place for you.
Material/Type: Volcanic ash
Nearest airport: Clark and Manila (Ninoy Aquino International Airport/NAIA)
How to get there: Get on a bus to Iba or Sta. Cruz, Zambales and get off at the San Antonio Public Market near the Municipal Hall (P250-270). Alternatively, you may opt to travel by bus to Olongapo and another bus to San Antonio, and get off at the same market. Look for a tricycle to take you to Pundaquit (P60 per 2 pax) and then rent a boat to Nagsasa Cove (P1000, good for 4 pax). Trekking is also a good option.

Capones Island and Anawangin Cove, Philippines
Capones Island is a place with a lot of charm, mainly due to its rock formation and lighthouse that offer wonderful sceneries.
Anawangin Cove is 40 minutes away by boat and is a peaceful place where you can easily relax/hangout with friends.
