Hiking Cascade Falls
On a recent trip to southern Utah, we decided to stay briefly at Cedar City. Looking for cool outdoor things to do in the area, we discovered his short hike to Cascade Falls. The falls, which aren't very big, are actually created from the nearby Navajo Lake. It is a very family friendly hike.
This video documents the journey to the falls. It was recorded with a GoPro camera.
2130 N El Dorado Trail , Cedar Mountain (Duck Creek), UT 84762
Wow! What a deal! 120 acres and a newly remodeled cabin on Cedar Mountain! Cell phone service, year round access, would be excellent for hunting ranch, recreation property, livestock and much more (see attachment for approved uses). There are enough water shares for 3 cabins (.75 shares of water). This listing is for two adjoining parcels 8-6-28-2(40 Acres) and 8-6-28-7(80 Acres).

Cascade Falls Trail Duck Creek Utah
Cascade Falls Trail shows the starting point of the Virgin River. You can also see the back side of Mount Zion in the distance. Ice Cave is nearby but not accessible to small children or elderly as you have to drop about 10ft to enter the cave. This video shows a 360 view of Duck Creek lake/pond and selected campsites at Duck Creek. The campground has flushing bathrooms, but no showers and is not open year round due to snow. Check temperatures before you go as pre-summer temperatures can be 30* or below at night. Deer wander the fields, and Eagles fly over head. Owls and turkeys are natural morning alarm clocks. The pizza at Hot Moma's Pizza & Brew in Duck Creek Village, about one mile away, is fantastic. by Mike Hughes, Author of The North American Dive Guide covering all 50 states plus selected locations in Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean, The Northwest Dive Guide by Harbour Publishing, To Kill a Diver a murder mystery, and Youtube parody dive songs such as The Dive Shop Song under mike hughes scuba. DAY-HIKING - The Beautiful Cascade Falls Trail At Dixie Forest
In this short hike, in June of 2018, we decided to hike the Cascade Falls Trail. What a beautiful and reasonably well-maintained trail! It has benches and even steps in some parts. Very nice!
The Cascade Falls Trail is located near Navajo Lake inside the Dixie National Forest, in the Cedar City Ranger site. It is a short, 1.1-mile round trip, and it is a fall that drains out of the Navajo Lake, and it keeps its course until it meets the Virgin River.
One thing about this hike is that the views are spectacular! It has incredible views of almost the entire south of Dixie Forest. The way down to the waterfall is a breeze. Very easy. However, the way back is a little steep, so it will make you feel a little out of breath especially because of the 9,500 feet of the trail's elevation. Nevertheless, it was such an enjoyable time with my daughter and my dog Kiwi. I highly recommend it!

Named for the water fall that flows out of the side of the cliff, this trail is a local favorite. The trail provides spectacular views of Zion National Park and beyond. The water that flows over the falls is supplied by Navajo Lake through an underground lava tube or sink hole. The water flows a couple miles underground through the tube before exiting at the Virgin River Rim. (Please note, the lava tube is closed to travel due to the low levels of oxygen and high water flows.) Cameras are a must!

Fall in Cedar City
As the weather starts to cool, the golden aspens and gleaming scrub maple of southern Utah are ready to put on an extraordinary show. In southern Utah, the display of fall color is impressive and distinctive; the changing of the leaves is short, but a sight one should not miss!
To help visitors and locals alike find the best fall colors at their peak moments, the Cedar City • Brian Head Tourism Bureau offers a weekly #FallColorReport starting September 1st. Easily accessible at visitcedarcity.com, the report features current leaf conditions, updated on a weekly basis to coincide with the changing conditions and activities in the local area. #VisitCedarCity
