DISC GOLF + WINE TASTING | Whale Rock and Castoro Cellars | Adventures in Paso Robles | Vlog
We went to one of our favorite spots in the entire world this weekend to play some frisbee golf at Whale Rock Disc Golf Course in Paso Robles, CA.
It was high noon so the sky was pretty flat, but they have such a beautiful property! It is attached to Castoro Cellars so we had to bop over for a picnic and some wine. Great day! #WhyWeWork

Castoro Cellars 2006 Reserve Zinfusion Zinfandel Paso Robles tasting notes video
Castoro Cellars 2006 Reserve Zinfusion Zinfandel showcases fruit from select Paso Robles vineyards, blending the fruit together to create a truly unique wine. The 2006 vintage comes from four eastside Paso Robles vineyards that yield intense fruit and beautifully complement each other in the final blend. Zinfusion is characteristically a big wine, and one of the flagships from Castoro Cellars distinguished wine portfolio. Deliciously ripe and engulfed with jammy fruit flavors, this award-winning wine is a Zin lovers dream and the recipient of a bucketful of impressive accolades a Gold Medal at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, a Gold Medal at the Los Angeles International Wine Competition, a Gold Medal at the Florida State Fair Internaitonal Wine Competition, and a Gold Medal at the Grand Harvest Awards. The 2006 Zinfusion also garnered 3 Silver Medals from international wine competitions and received the honor of 88 Points-Highly Recommended from the Beverage Tasting Institute: Deep violet color. Aromas of berry creme brulee, barbecued meat, spicy mole and mint follow through on a soft entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium body with wet stone, toasted nut notes, and dusty tannins on the gentle finish. An appealing claret style Zin.

What I Drank Yesterday Bianchi Winery Paso Robles
This is one of the up and coming grower producer from the Paso Robles region and they do have some vineyards in Monterey also.
In pursuit of his lifelong ambition of producing ultra-premium wines, Glenn set his sights on finding a new vineyard and winery location. After searching throughout California for the finest terroir to meet his requirements, he settled on Paso Robles. Glenn was impressed with the region's outstanding reputation for quality wines and its natural beauty.
In January of 2000, Bianchi purchased 40 acres of vineyards on the East side of Paso Robles and built a showcase winery and spectacular hospitality center on the property.
Situated on a gentle rise, the new Bianchi Winery has a commanding view looking west over undulating vineyards dotted with ancient oaks. The state of the art stainless steel fermentation tanks provide the winemaker the latest computerized monitoring system and the option to make select, limited production wines. Similarly, the new barrel room for the French and American oak has the capacity to allow blending and aging of small lots.
These wines are all varietally correct and quite good, especially when you look at the price tag!

Cambria and California Central Coast with friends
Cambria, California, in October is beautiful. I met my next door neighbor, Gary, from Hawaii, his sister JoAnn, and her husband, Jim, for a couple sun-splashed days, using Cambria Pines Lodge as our home base - - visited Seekers Glass Gallery and saw work by my friend Julie Nagesh, who makes gorgeous images of Japanese Kimono, then went to the pharmacy that sells every type of rubber duckie one can dream up, saw the Halloween Scare Crows around town, drove to Ragged Point where the butterflies had invaded every purple flower, and visited Hearst Castle, where Jim had worked years ago. Next day, off to Paso Robles for wine tasting at Castoro WInery, and for me, back to LA, driving down an open stretch of the 5 freeway while Jim, JoAnn and Gary headed north, returning to San Francisco. A great trip with nice people.
