Butts Up Cave Tubing - Belize with Jimmy
This is a video of out Cave Tubing excursion we took in Belize with Butts Up Cave Tubing you can find them here Pieces of the description were taken from trip advisor and applied perfectly to our trip as follows: They picked us up right outside the cruise terminal. After leaving town, it took about an hour to get to the national park. Along the way Jimmy, our guide, provided useful information.
- The hike: About 30 minutes. Mostly a reasonable dirt path through the woods, a couple of points where it is a bit steep up or down a hill and 3 points where you wade across a river (under 2 feet deep at the deepest)
- The water: Refreshing after the hike. Most of your body doesn't actually get wet. You wade onto and off of the tube, and your butt is in the center of the tube, but while riding the river you stay fairly dry. This wasn't whitewater - it was more of a lazy river
- The guides: they work their butts off pushing and pulling the tubes and at points doing so while swimming.
- Fear of drowning: Pretty minimal. Most of the time the river is only a few feet deep and it's not that fast a current. You're wearing a lifevest, you're on an inner tube, and there's a guide ratio of at least 1:8 required by the park
-In conclusion it was the best money we spent the entire cruise, well worth the money. Jimmy was an Excellent guide. After the tour lunch was great and we were returned to the port doorstep. definitely a must do in Belize.
CRUISE LIFE VLOG: Carnival Breeze: Cave Tubing in Belize
We have completed our zip line adventure at Jaguar Paw in Belize and we have changed our clothes are are geared up for cave tubing. Helmets on head, life jackets on and tubes in hand we begin our hike to the river. Our guide, Bruce, stops along the way to give us info on the local wildlife and plant life on our trail which is very interesting! We make it to the mouth of the cave and Bruce ties our six tubes together and we descend into darkness. I must say that is this one of the coolest things we have ever done! Words cannot describe and this video does not to it justice to just how beautiful this cave is! You must see it for yourself!

Belize Cave Tubing Excursion in the Mayan Rainforest with Lunch
There are several Belize Cave Tubing Excursions available on the market, therefore we chose the absolute best and safest one. Cave tubing is a one of the most popular adventure excursions in Belize. It allows you to see the ancient Underworld of the Maya where sacred rituals were performed.
Our tour guides will lead you through our beautiful Belizian tropical rainforest and tubing down our adventurous river to see the mysterious caves which are known as the dwelling places for many Mayan gods. Splash into the refreshing waters and float lazily downstream observing amazing cave formations that were created before the dawn of mankind.
After the River Tubing Excursion, enjoy a Belizian lunch at the family owned restaurant and a complimentary Rum Punch, refreshments are provided. This Cave Tubing Excursion in Belize is an experience you won't forget, completely safe and reliable! You will be back at the terminal in plenty of time, we have never had our guests miss the tender.
For transportation we use the latest Toyota Hiace High roof capacity of 16 passengers (vs the competition's old school buses)!
NOTE: This operator is the first Belizean owned company to have complied with all the new safety requirements instituted by NICH. It offers the latest equipment that complies with international law, including Petzl helmets, Petzl L.E.D lights, life vests and the latest yellow tubes with cup holders, chainlinks, and head rests. Smaller tubes are available for kids as well.
Heading into the caves in Belize
On our tubes, linked up, and going underground!
Belize Cave Tubing - Awesome experience - Must see
We booked a Cave Tubing Excursion with Lunch from Port of Belize while on our cruise ship Carnival Glory. We met at the office next to the port. Once there we got on a bus ride that took 50 minutes to the tubing location. They gave us helmets, life vests, flashlights, and big tubes to have fun. The tube can be heavy as you have to carry it approximately half mile to the launching area. My wife got tired from carrying it. The tubing is slow and fun. There is a guide that wades through out the hole trip as he pulls and guide the tubes. I freed myself from the group as to enjoy the river, but you have to know how to float down the river. They provide lunch after tubing. Local food and fruit punch as excellent. You can buy other food and drinks too.
Belize day 5: waterfall cave expedition
We originally were going to do the Lost Caves Expedition with Caves Branch, but we decided to change it since it was just a regular cave excursion and we knew it was pretty hard to beat Actun Tunichil Muknal. And I'm glad we changed it to the waterfall cave expedition, just to do something different. This one was definitely very exciting as we got to climb up 7 waterfalls inside the cave, then jump off of each one.
We finished the excursion early afternoon, so we headed back to the resort to relax, then met up with Paul and Sarah for dinner on our last night hanging out together.

Travel to Belize Before the Crowds Arrive
With the Caribbean reigned over by hyperactive all-inclusive resorts, you can still travel to Belize and still go local. Promoting a fairy-tale landscape of white-sand beaches, lush rain forests, and soaring mountains, practically all activities are easily accessible from several fun and funky beachfront towns. Belize accommodations are upscale yet small-scale, but much bigger developments are underway. We have outlined some reasons to travel to Belize country now, before the crowds turn up.
Beach Bumming
Just off Belize's Caribbean coast is island chain of sunny islands, showcasing various natural wonders and charming beach towns, all of which are simply reached via a well-run local carrier. In San Pedro, where streets are so slim that residents drive around in golf carts, a 190-mile long barrier reef extends along the town's shoreline, and the beachfront is crowded with dive shops, excursion boats, restaurants and bars. Also, Placencia has miles of continuous beach, and just a few cozy boutique Belize hotels.
Adventure Seeking
If you cannot picture yourself spending vacation time in a beach chair, you can direct your inner Tarzan in Belize. Begin with cave exploration and river tubing in Cayo, where vacationers can rappel into caves and float along an underground river on inner tubes. Hikers can discover 22,000 acres of protected jungle and mangrove forests in Corozal, trek to Antelope Falls, or follow rain forest trails with scenic views of the Caribbean in Corozal Bay. In Hopkins, pick from shallow or deep fishing excursions.
BELIZE CAVE TUBING TOUR
This is a great tour through calm water. We were the only group that didn't have to carry our tubes on the 45 walk to the river.
UnBELIZEable Old Belize family park to visit. #OldBelize
Old Belize is the best place to spend the day with the family in Belize City. It has a train ride through Belizean History, a large swimming hole with a HUGE water slide, rope swing, floating obstacles, and tubes to relax in. The marina is full of big boats and the restaurant has good food too.
Their open Tuesday through Sunday (closed Monday's - unless its a cruise ship day or Belizean holiday, then they open) and for a whole day of swimming the price is reasonable.
Located in Belize City on the George Price High 5 mile. This video will give you an idea of what there all to do with your family at Old Belize.

Then it is off to a visit to famous Belize Zoo! The Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center was started in 1983, as a great effort to provide a home for wild animals which had been used in making documentary films about tropical forests. After the zoo's opening, it was quickly realized that Belizean visitors were rather unfamiliar with the different species of wildlife of their country. This very aspect fomented the commitment to develop the little zoo into a dynamic wildlife education center.
Today, The Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center is settled upon 29 acres of tropical savanna and exhibits over 150 animals, representing over 45 species, all native to Belize. The zoo keeps animals which were orphaned, rescued, born at the zoo, rehabilitated animals, or sent to The Belize Zoo as donations from other zoological institutions. A visit to the zoo is the best way to get an introduction to the animals of Belize, and to understand why it is important to protect the habitats that sustain them. Enjoy the highlights of mother nature as only to be seen in Belize!

Adventure in Belize
Cave Tubing and exploring the Maya Ruins of Xunantunich in Belize.
Belize Altun Ha Mayan Ruins, City Sightseeing and Cave Tubing Excursion
On this Belize Mayan Ruins and Cave Tubing Excursion, visit Altun Ha, an ancient Mayan ceremonial and trading center, covering about 5 square miles with more than 500 structures. With its constructions dating back to 250 BC, Belize Altun Ha was not discovered until 1963 when Hal Ball, a pilot and amateur archaeologist, detected its existence when flying over the hidden Mayan site.
The center of Altun Ha is home to three Mayan Plazas and thirteen structures with the epicenter being the famous altar temple of Masonry, rising 54 feet high. This pyramid revealed one of the most exciting Mayan discoveries by Professor David Pendergast of the Royal Ontario Museum in 1965, a caved jade head of almost 10 pounds, representing the God of the Sun called Kinich Ahau. Unlike many other Mayan Ruins sites and depending on weather conditions, you can still climb one of the main temples and enjoy a panoramic view of the Belize rain forest!
After this great Mayan Ruins Excursion of Altun Ha, it is off to go cave tubing! Belize Dark Night Cave Tubing - Royal Caribbean Excursion
We went on a Royal Caribbean cruise in December 2015 with a port in Belize. We took the Dark Night Cave trek and tubing shore excursion. It was not difficult or strenuous at all. We saw monkeys while on the tubes (difficult to see in video). We would recommend this to anyone. We enjoyed this very much!
As a note, this is only a small snippet of the excursion
BELIZE CAVE TUBING - Floating through natural tunnels
We went floating through the caves and tunnels of Belize on our cruise ship excursion.
Welcome to DownieLive, a Vancouver based YouTuber and adventure vlogger.
I take an excursion off the cruise ship to go cave tubing in Belize. This means we float on inflatable tubes through a series of natural caves in the beautiful Belize jungle. We encountered Tarantulas, tasted termites and strong ants.
If you're going to cave tube in Belize, make sure to bring these:

Cave Tubing in Belize, Central America
This is a video of Cave Tubing in Belize (Central America). It is a peaceful, slow, relaxing tour that takes you on about a 20-25 minute tour (walk) through the jungle in Belize to a calm river where you ride on a tube for a 45 minute to 1 hour float down the river which passes through a cave. There are multiple routes available. The Mayan's called caves hell so you will see and hear motto's of being to hell and back. There is a danger of Puma's and other feline species and also snakes on the walk in, however, these animals are generally nocturnal and pose little real threat. This trip is VERY popular in Belize and usually there are many people on the trail. There is no danger in the river (only small fish live in the river and small bats in the cave). They do require you to wear a helmet with flashlight, a life vest and tube, all provided, while tubing the river. Being able to swim and some type of shoe is required. Sandals count if they are secure (no flip flops). The river changes depths from butts up (shallow enough the guide may have to drag you) to 20 or so feet deep. You must go with a guide and groups are usually 8 tubers per guide. It can be quite crowded in the cave at times. Children must be 8 or over. I recommend this experience to anyone visiting Belize (it is the most popular activity).

Belize Cave Tubing Excursion Norwegian Cruise Line NCL Carnival Royal Caribbean - Chukka Butts Up
Belize Cave Tubing Excursion on Norwegian Cruise Line NCL. This Excursion was run by Chukka.com and it was fantastic. Other cruise lines such as Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Princess may use Chukka for this excursion or one of the other tour companies like Butts Up. The location is about 1.25 hours from the cruise port in Belize City. We went by tour bus on a scenic drive through the country and jungle. After a 30 min walk you get to enjoy a breathtaking tube ride through the mountain on a river. It was wonderful. Our excursion also included lunch. There were also options to add zip lining to this excursion.
