Belize Cave Tubing
Belize Cave Tubing - shore excursion in during a cruise line stop on the Carnival Sunshine ship. This video shows the full extent of the water journey which includes a lot of time floating leisurely through the jungle. It does not include all of the trip inside the cave, which was much longer, since it was only lit by headlamps. It's a beautiful walk through the jungle to the river and a relaxing float down and through the cave. Trip was through Butts Up Cave Tubing.
The video was shot with a GoPro Hero 3+.

Butts Up Cave Tubing - Belize with Jimmy
This is a video of out Cave Tubing excursion we took in Belize with Butts Up Cave Tubing you can find them here Pieces of the description were taken from trip advisor and applied perfectly to our trip as follows: They picked us up right outside the cruise terminal. After leaving town, it took about an hour to get to the national park. Along the way Jimmy, our guide, provided useful information.
- The hike: About 30 minutes. Mostly a reasonable dirt path through the woods, a couple of points where it is a bit steep up or down a hill and 3 points where you wade across a river (under 2 feet deep at the deepest)
- The water: Refreshing after the hike. Most of your body doesn't actually get wet. You wade onto and off of the tube, and your butt is in the center of the tube, but while riding the river you stay fairly dry. This wasn't whitewater - it was more of a lazy river
- The guides: they work their butts off pushing and pulling the tubes and at points doing so while swimming.
- Fear of drowning: Pretty minimal. Most of the time the river is only a few feet deep and it's not that fast a current. You're wearing a lifevest, you're on an inner tube, and there's a guide ratio of at least 1:8 required by the park
-In conclusion it was the best money we spent the entire cruise, well worth the money. Jimmy was an Excellent guide. After the tour lunch was great and we were returned to the port doorstep. definitely a must do in Belize.
CRUISE LIFE VLOG: Carnival Breeze: Cave Tubing in Belize
We have completed our zip line adventure at Jaguar Paw in Belize and we have changed our clothes are are geared up for cave tubing. Helmets on head, life jackets on and tubes in hand we begin our hike to the river. Our guide, Bruce, stops along the way to give us info on the local wildlife and plant life on our trail which is very interesting! We make it to the mouth of the cave and Bruce ties our six tubes together and we descend into darkness. I must say that is this one of the coolest things we have ever done! Words cannot describe and this video does not to it justice to just how beautiful this cave is! You must see it for yourself!

Belize Cave Tubing Excursion Norwegian Cruise Line NCL Carnival Royal Caribbean - Chukka Butts Up
Belize Cave Tubing Excursion on Norwegian Cruise Line NCL. This Excursion was run by Chukka.com and it was fantastic. Other cruise lines such as Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Princess may use Chukka for this excursion or one of the other tour companies like Butts Up. The location is about 1.25 hours from the cruise port in Belize City. We went by tour bus on a scenic drive through the country and jungle. After a 30 min walk you get to enjoy a breathtaking tube ride through the mountain on a river. It was wonderful. Our excursion also included lunch. There were also options to add zip lining to this excursion.

Belize Cave Tubing
Our friend Dalene Heck of Hecktic Travels shares her Cave Tubing experience in Belize with us...
Cave Tubing at Jaguar Paw in Belize
On our recent Western Caribbean Cruise we stopped in Belize City, Belize. The shore excursion my family chose was to go cave tubing.
Hidden among the tropical rainforest in western Belize is the Jaguar Paw Adventure Outdoor post. The facility is outfitted with bathrooms, changing rooms, locker rentals, bar, cafe, and gift shop. We took about an hour and fifteen-minute bus ride from the port to the outpost. Our onboard guides were very informative as they discussed what it was like to live in Belize along with the history.
Upon arrival at the outpost, we boarded another bus to make our way down a steep gravel road where we then obtained our locker and tubing gear. We were paired up with a guide who gave us safety information. Then we took a short walk to the exit point of the river in order to cross the river and take a 20-minute hike through the rainforest to where we would begin our tubing. The water was high due to recent rains causing the river to flow swiftly.
Upon exiting the river, we had a short walk back to the outpost where we changed clothes and enjoyed a traditional Belizean lunch of marinated chicken, rice and beans, which was very delicious.
We did learn a good bit about the cave system as well as the Maya civilization. We did spend more time on the bus to/from the outpost as well as preparing and walking to the river than we did on the river which was a little disappointing. Nonetheless, it was a very fun excursion.
(For those wanting an extra adventure, there is a zip line addon for this excursion.)

Belize Cave Tubing Nohoch Che'en National Park, Caves Branch Outpost. 2-11-2015
Belize Cave Tubing at Nohoch Che'en National Park, better known as Caves Branch Outpost.
Video shows that a bit a walking is needed for those that may be challenged. The video does not do the experience and interior rock formations justice. A preview to do yourself or for memories.
Booked on our own before cruise. cavetubing.bz - Included Zipline tour (see other video) Cave tubing, lunch, transportation and park entrance fees. This tour brings your tube about 3/4 of the way to drop off point for you. Other groups had to carry their tubes. We also were able to go up another quarter mile and take another bonus cave down the river. Lunch was traditional bean and rice and chicken. All you can eat. Also rum punch or bottles of soft drinks. Bring some $ for tips. The tour guides work hard and explain everything along the way.
Cave tubing requires a tour guide, life vest, helmet, proper footwear, flotation device and a light. - Just bring water shoes and suitable clothing.
Belize has many cave systems. The Chiquibul Cave System is over 7 miles underground.
Watch for large lizards.

Belize Cave Tubing - Awesome experience - Must see
We booked a Cave Tubing Excursion with Lunch from Port of Belize while on our cruise ship Carnival Glory. We met at the office next to the port. Once there we got on a bus ride that took 50 minutes to the tubing location. They gave us helmets, life vests, flashlights, and big tubes to have fun. The tube can be heavy as you have to carry it approximately half mile to the launching area. My wife got tired from carrying it. The tubing is slow and fun. There is a guide that wades through out the hole trip as he pulls and guide the tubes. I freed myself from the group as to enjoy the river, but you have to know how to float down the river. They provide lunch after tubing. Local food and fruit punch as excellent. You can buy other food and drinks too.
Cave Tubing in Belize, Central America
This is a video of Cave Tubing in Belize (Central America). It is a peaceful, slow, relaxing tour that takes you on about a 20-25 minute tour (walk) through the jungle in Belize to a calm river where you ride on a tube for a 45 minute to 1 hour float down the river which passes through a cave. There are multiple routes available. The Mayan's called caves hell so you will see and hear motto's of being to hell and back. There is a danger of Puma's and other feline species and also snakes on the walk in, however, these animals are generally nocturnal and pose little real threat. This trip is VERY popular in Belize and usually there are many people on the trail. There is no danger in the river (only small fish live in the river and small bats in the cave). They do require you to wear a helmet with flashlight, a life vest and tube, all provided, while tubing the river. Being able to swim and some type of shoe is required. Sandals count if they are secure (no flip flops). The river changes depths from butts up (shallow enough the guide may have to drag you) to 20 or so feet deep. You must go with a guide and groups are usually 8 tubers per guide. It can be quite crowded in the cave at times. Children must be 8 or over. I recommend this experience to anyone visiting Belize (it is the most popular activity).

Belize - 2017 - Mayan Temples - Caye Caulker - Cave Tubing - Tikal
If you have any questions regarding my trip or things I'd recommend, leave a comment below! Belize and Guatemala are very welcoming and amazing.
The itinerary of our trip:
1. Snorkeling Adventure - Coral Garden, Tarpon Feeding, Shark Ray Alley and Caye Caulker Beach Break with Belize Exotic Adventures. I did not film the snorkeling or shark feeding bit since we were in the water swimming. But I filmed the tarpon feeding, which was really cool!
2. Xunantunich Mayan Ruins with Pacz Tours. This is the 2nd tallest structure in Belize (behind the temple at Caracol) but it was really easy to climb. The view is spectacular. We also stopped at Cahal Pech Ruins that are walking distance from San Ignacio as well as the iguana sanctuary at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel.
3. Caracol Mayan Ruins along with Rio Frio Cave and Rio on Pools with MayaWalk Tours. Caracol is a fairly large site with many temples to climb, as well as the largest structure in Belize! The road took a bumpy 2 hours to get here, but worth it. Rio On Pools are natural pools in a river that felt refreshing after hiking around the ruins.
4. Tikal Mayan Ruins in Guatemala with Pacz Tours. This is a must for anyone going to Belize. Tikal is too close to Belize to pass up, and it's the largest Mayan ruins site. Countless temples to climb, all surrounded by jungle and wildlife. One can never forget this is where George Lucas filmed Yavin 4 in the original Star Wars: A New Hope in 1977.
5. Cave tubing with MayaWalk Tours in the Caves Branch river system at the Nohoch Che'en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve. After a 45 minutes hike through the jungle, we floated peacefully down a river that passed through multiple caves and jungle.
This video was filmed between January 3rd, 2017 to January 9th, 2017. It consists mainly of my adventures with my family in Belize, but a quick side trip to Tikal in Guatemala.
